DL dropped to nearly 175...to shoot back up like that for no apparent reason is amazing. Keep in mind, the KL video has yet to be aired on any U.S. channels. I bet that DL goes higher up at that point. It's just like My Chemical Romance. When their last CD first came out it wasn't too popular, but after a few months it slowly started going up the charts.

Yeh I've noticed we have been getting a regular flow of new users around here, a sign that album sales will inevitably go up?

I myself have noticed a big jump in sales in the last 3 weeks. I'm in charge of the entertainment department at my Target, and we sold 3 copies of Dark Light one day last week. That's impressive for a non "best seller". Now of course I'm sold out and waiting for replenishment. One good sign is we just did our revision of the CD department and Dark Light is still staying there. A lot of poor sellers get pulled, but DL get's another few months at least, unless of course sales really pick up and it becomes a "best seller" according to Target.
By comparison, Razorblade Romance was only around for about 3 months in 2003.

it took me a little longer to get used to this album than the others. this was even longer than love metal. I like it now and am fully brainwashed. The person with the entwine sig>> I LOVE ENTWINE, they are my favorite band :)

Quote
ContactMusic.com is reporting that H.I.M. frontman Ville Valo is unsure if he was raped after being given a date rape drug and robbed in a bar in Minneapolis last October.

But the H.I.M. singer insists it would serve his attacker right if he was sexually assaulted — because he was suffering an uncomfortable condition at the time.

Valo explains, "At that point I had a horrendous case of haemorrhoids — which often happens on tour — so it would have served that particular party right if they had taken their wicked way with me.

"Haemorrhoids and all the evil things that happen in the anal area. That would have been my revenge."

Valo also admitted he is so terrified of sexually predatory groupies, he sometimes wishes he is gay.

Ville is stunned by how forward and liberated female fans are.

He says, "The overt sexuality of groupies shocks me.

"It feels odd that people think they can just sleep with us. We actually think, sometimes, in the band, that it would all be a lot easier if we were all gay because what better than going on stage having just sucked each other off — we'd all be so happy.

"But you know, hairy balls are not really my thing."

Ewww?

I think that story may have scarred me for the rest of my life. It was wrong on so many levels.

I don't think it was a flop. I think it was another different album that Him was trying to make. Because they are always changing, and trying something new. I found Him's new album to be quite beautiful.

Dark Light is not a flop. It is slowly but surely selling more and more. Jumping up 83 spots on billboard 5 months after your album comes out is pretty good.

Who thinks dark light was a flop.
I think for devoted fans it was a blow to think that a Band could keep some integrity to their Musical roots even if Cash was waved in their face.
Making this album light on its feet and just not giving the impulse as their origin of the band really had much effect for those fans.
Thus creating a commercial envoriment for those new kids who want to be cool so they check out whats new on MTV shit of shows.

I dunno, I think it sounds like anything else HIM. Keep in mind, each CD has had a different sound. This one is a natural progression from "And Love Said No" and "Solitary Man", which were progressions from "Love Metal".  Just listen to each CD in order, Dark Light fits in very well. It's still HIM, it still kicks ass.

Dark Light was really good when it came out, but now i find myself only really liking, vampire heart, killing lonelness, and play dead. If their next album is worst, then that would totally suck.

In my opinion I think, when recording the next album, they should try to recreate their original sound (1992-1997) that we only ever got a short taste of.
