Anyone here listen to Angelo Badalamenti?

I started listening to him a bit, the 'Twin Peaks' and 'Mulholland Drive' soundtracks and I can really hear how Dark Light was influenced by him. The dark atmosphere and keyboards make me think of Badalamenti.

Awesome, I'll make sure to do that. I've downloaded the 'Twin Peaks' Season 1 Soundtrack and I watched 'Mulholland Drive'. I'm looking for 'Lost Highway' but can't find it for rent.

Since you listen to Badalamenti, do you hear his influence on Dark Light?

Yes defintialy. the songs i think most have it are the little interludes between songs (the outro and intro things) and drunk on shadows pulls it off in the songs its self

lost highway is only availiable on VHS so youll have trouble, it said its comming out on DVD but ive heard that for 3 years.

would you mind sending me the twin peaks soundtrack? that would rock

Yea, I noticed that immediatly. I think it's interesting that many people are criticizing HIM for just using a scene from the video for their cover yet they just formed the video around the cover they had created.

Anyone here listen to Angelo Badalamenti?

Badalamenti was famously known more through the project he did with David Lynch (that was the first part that got Ville hooked on him), he worked with him scoring the Soundtrack "Lost Highway".
Marilyn Manson has since learned alot on how to do this sort of material thanks to him and has been a close friend of him since.
Badalamenti also plans to release future unreleased material, so far I have waited nearly three years for that project to arrive.

Nancy, I own the Sountracks to his work plus unreleased material in Acetate material as well. The DVD Lost Highway has only been released in  Canada so dont expect it soon to be in America. What you can do is either go to Amoeba Records and purchase his import material for 8 dollars or the DVD for 12.
I bought one off ebay for 10, it is rather easy to come around.

If you want to see strange and yet interesting movies I recommend "Begotten". There is no way Movies like that come around that often, it is watching the wreckage of Lord of the Flies with a World Gone completely mad (with Steroids!). :P

Yea, I'm just getting into Lynch and Badalamenti. Like I've said, I've rented 'Twin Peaks' Season 1 and 'Mulholland Drive' and am looking for 'Lost Highway' right now.

Wow, I didn't know the thing about Manson though, kind of interesting.

I was in my local Co-Op today and Dark Light was sitting on the cd shelf in there. I was quite surprised to see it in there actually considering they have a tiny collection on cds mainly consisting of pop albums.

if all else fails, money could persuade Ville to do a UK tour this year!

I don't know if this has been mentioned anywhere else but has anyone noticed the new poll on the street team?

What is your favorite band other than HIM?

My Chemical Romance

 264 votes

Marilyn Manson

 111 votes

Avenged Sevenfold

100 votes

Nine Inch Nails

105 votes

System of A Down

119 votes

Could be possible bands that HIM could be touring with in the future?
I mean every other poll they've had its lead to something else.

If it is true thank god Manson or System of a Down aren't winning.  That would be the worst tour ever.

Yea, as for that poll, I voted Manson because I haven't really listened to any of the other groups yet. But I'd like to see a MCR-HIM tour from what I've heard of them. HIM would not go well with Manson at all.

yes, i must agree with jose, all the new songs kicked ass live, but what got to me was when the entire audience started screaming when wings of a butterfly came on, i mean, louder than all the other songs people were screaming at.  the dumb ass preppies sitting next to me at the show said something really stupid too.  when BTCD came on, they started shouting, "yeah, this one is WOAB!  WOOOOO"

You're right because I don't even think Ville's a fan or fond of 'em.  Eh, who knows....
