If you want to just listen to the regular album though, it's easier on the Italian site. I've been listening to a couple of songs several times.

The sound quality at heartagram.com is excellent.  Someone come and scrape me up off the floor.  This album is incredible.

I love the cd art. The front is a bit weak however.

The back of the cover is good and the cd is too.  I was just expecting more from the front because they said it would be good.

If i had to pick fav. album covers iit would either be DSBH or Dark Light. Let's face it HIM album covers aren't anything special. If they would have made an album cover like how they did with love metal archives dvd that would be sweet. By the way whats the deal with poison arrow dvd?

So the Fan Edition has different CD art than the regular album, nice!

I guess they started sending them out. :)

From those of you who have heard the album... do you hear the "stork" noise that Mige was meant to of done?
I didn't hear it. What song was it supposed to be in?

I believe it was Play Dead.

Haunting.

That's my first impression, after a first complete listening to Dark Light.
This album is fucking wicked.
HIM used to be all dark and gloomy, but listening to it used to make you happy. Katharctic music. Listening to someone else's pain made it easier for you to deal with your own.
Dark Light, on the other hand, seems really positive and happy. At least the choruses do. But it's got an undertone of awaiting doom. It's like a subliminal thing. It makes you feel creepy.
More than to a soundtrack, I'd compare it to a movie. A dark one. Something like Mulholland Drive, for example. A lot of fancy icing on the cake, but still you get this funny feeling in your gut, that maybe it isn't such a good idea to eat that cake...

It's going to take me a few listenings before I really get into this album. But I can already say that I'm gonna love it. It's hard core love metal, that's what it is... It's a mindtrip into those wastelands of your mind, where you're in love and miserable at the same time.

Musically, it seems pretty fucking amazing to me. A coherent continuum from the first note to the last. A lot there to be discovered. The ambient is overwhelming.

It is definitely a crossroad in their career. It's not easy-to-relate-with simple songs of love and death anymore. Now it's more like  something went wrong in your mind and you cannot tell death from love or love from death anymore...

It's beautiful. It's stunning. It's a mindfuck.

10/10
