Salute the Sanguine Lyrics
« on: March 20, 2020, 10:59:04 AM »
My favorite part of having new music...I can't make out the last minute or so.

Death, come blow me a kiss
Through this cathedral of cards
Remind me how to decrypt the cipher written in the blood in my heart

Salute the sanguine
Red in tooth and claw, it has to feel
Salute the sanguine
Ferociously beautiful, you are

Love your lips move, but I can't hear you sing, in my citadel of scars
The ghost of you she lies within revealing what is lost

Salute the sanguine
Red in tooth and claw, it has to feel
Salute the sanguine
Ferociously beautiful, you are

Here come the tears
Along with terms of endearment, distorted by fear
So sincere, it hurts

Salute the sanguine, sanguine
I'm screaming your name
Salute the sanguine, sanguine
No heart beats in vain

I salute the sanguine (I salute the sanguine)
I salute the sanguine (I salute the sanguine)
We'll be screaming your name again and again
Come salute the sanguine (come salute the sanguine)
Come salute the sanguine (come salute the sanguine)
All hearts kneel before your grace

Dreams in black and blue
Heart beats in pulsar
Spectral, I love you
We're moving on

In scarlet hue
All tomorrow's entombed

Days as cold as (you)*
We're moving on

A few fixes :)

"Cathedral of cards"

"Remind me how to decrypt the cipher written in the blood of my heart"

"In my citadel of scars"

"The ghost of you, she lies within. Revealing what is lost"

"I'm screaming your name"

"No heart bleeds in vain" (possibly)

"Hear me scream your name again and again"

"Come salute the sanguine"

Ah yes, that does make sense. The bleeding heart goes with the sanguine theme.

I think it's "terms of endearment" rather than "times of endearment". I'm also not 100% on the "heading to that point, has to feel" line but I can't for the life of me figure out what the right words are. Guess I'll just have to listen a few more times, darn.  ::)

I think I've got it: "Red in tooth and claw, it has to feel"

We know Ville loves his old poetry. There's part in a poem by Tennyson called In Memoriam, A.H.H. that goes:
"Who trusted God was love indeed
And love Creation’s final law–
Tho’ Nature, red in tooth and claw
With ravine, shriek’d against his creed–"

The red line would also follow the sanguine theme and the claws would also play into the “ferocious” line. Thanks!

I'm probably wrong but it could be: Through this cathedral of clots
We are the ones with moonlit hearts - run to me
We are the ones with moonlit hearts - run to me
We are the ones with moonlit hearts - run to me
And we belong to another world
Run to me

I posted the last bit from Apple Music.  The lyrics that we have seem to be more accurate though.  The last bit is still a bit hard to make out.

I'm almost hearing, "days as cold as June"?? But that makes no sense. I'm definitely hearing a "j" or "ch" sound.
