Hmmm. That's pretty interesting! I checked the trailer out to get a vibe for the music but there isn't much.

is anyone else angry that Ville let HIM go and instead of doing something meaningful he made a music for a stupid video game? i mean, the waste of the talent for nothing, for a video game...... the game has a master musician and songwriter for its music - congratz.
If HIM was still in the game i would not be mad at all, but now when HIM is done and was replaced by stupid little projects that are not worth Villes time, talent and the name... its making me sad, angry.
oh... that midlife crisis  >:( but if it makes Ville happy, go ahead...
I really hope that within few years Ville realises that HIM needs some proper ending and they will end it in the majestic way, not just the years of quiet ended with: "we are done, there is a farewell fuck off tour" .....
some final album, the final chapter, an epilogue is necessary.....
even that "excuse" of disbanding HIM was so poor - .... HIM went wrong way or what it was?.... wrong way my ass.... They solved the puzzle and completed the pattern? They realised in 2017? When the last album was in 2013? Blahblahblah , bullshit. Ville for fucks sake give us the truth and not some empty excuses or give HIS INFERNAL MAJESTY the proper ending, write that last chapter and the dot in the end. Dont let it go this way.....

I agree. It does seem a waste of his talent but he's in a new relationship now maybe he's putting that as his main priority. Maybe wants to start a family and enjoy a peaceful life. We'll never know but I agree it's a sad state of affairs. As a fan it's odd not hearing updates from them before they announced the end but not unexpected.

Maybe, when Ville realizes HIM didn't get a proper goodbye he will release a single with 1 track, it's just 5 seconds of Ville saying, "Go fuck yourselves, I'm done." They can put it out on CD, digital, vinyl and a deluxe single with a bonus track of Ville saying, "No, seriously, I'm done with this HIM shit."
And then he continues to make music for videogames and other musicians.
Come love me 'till it hurts, dance the neon noir with me.

You guys need to take a deep breath. It's not the end of the world. I don't find it very fair to get angry over mere assumptions and speculations as to the reasons for choosing to disband; especially outlandish things that have no evidence to support it. It's also not fair to think, as a fan, you can demand things of a band simply because you feel that they owe you something when they're the ones that have the right to do what they want with the band because it's their creation, not ours, just as much as we have the right to support them with our time and money or not. So I'm not gonna sit here and be pissed off at the band, or any specific member, without knowing for sure the reasons when there could be a number of reasons why.

I personally think that Gas' injury ultimately set things in motion for this to happen. They had a lot of down time to reflect and experience life in ways that was either new or very difficult to do before, but we also know that the situation caused them a lot of worry and I'm sure that left them contemplating a possible future without him. A lot can be speculated about how & why Gas ultimately decided to leave because he completely recovered from his injury, stuck around to work on ToT and other small things, and then just left. This, of course, leads to bigger questions like did Gas have full intentions on continuing with the band after he recovered and didn't realize until later that his heart was no longer in it or did he just stick around to do the album and tour because it would have made him feel terrible quitting right away? Which leads to questioning the possibility that something happened within the band as a result of all the stress and worry that created a rift between the guys that began pushing them apart... enough so to make it difficult to put pieces back together and incorporate a new member.

No matter how much we speculate it's impossible to know for sure about any of this, but at the end of the day the fact still remains that the band will be calling it quits and what's done is done. We can only hope that they release/create some more stuff before that day comes and that, maybe after some time, they'll come together to create more things... even if it's just to do some kind of reunion tour. Only time will tell and no matter what happens I'll be eternally grateful for having known these guys and being such a huge part of my life... A life that I have no idea how I would have been able to handle without them. They had a great run and I truly, from the bottom of my heart and the depths of my soul, wish them all the best... We all, at the very least, OWE them that much... as I write this last sentence all teary-eyed.

"That is not dead which can eternal lie, And with strange aeons even death may die."
"In the grace of this love we rise in pain and death is not far away... And soon we'll sleep and never wake up again."

I absolutely, 100% agree with Inferno

I wouldn't have thought Ville would write video game music. I always thought he was kinda anti-tech and all that. But I'm happy he tried something completely different from the usual, that's cool. I might take a look even though it's not really my kind of game.
Will you dance to this beat and hold a lover close

I don't see why they just didn't go on a hiatus for a while and do separate stuff.

Let's be honest they've been on a break for the best part of 7 years. I think something must have happened whether that be Gas leaving or something more recent. Hearing Ville speak positively about being rejuvenated/refreshed/excited about HIM again after the long lay off with Gas' injury. It seems so strange to hear the nonsense about how they've solved the puzzle or whatever, I guess it just seems so quick when he's spoke about a new album and saying they'd be back next year for Helldone and they wouldn't do it without anything new to play. I'm guessing something has happened recently and let's be honest if Ville or anyone else wanted time to take on some side projects, they could probably fit that around HIM who aren't exactly the most active band. Hell im probably just annoyed they're ending it like this and Infernos right they don't owe us anything, I just hadn't imagined it ending so soon and yes if he's just gonna do shitty projects like this it's a complete waste of his talent.

They gotta make money somehow, guys... it's not like they've been touring/pushing out albums for the past decade lol. And Ville has always been known to dabble in some weird artistic stuff so this wasn't really that surprising to me.

We haven't even heard the music aside from that last few seconds. Maybe it'll be cool...we know it'll be different.

And just because they "retire/break up" doesn't mean they stay that way. They'll see each other at some festival and decide to give it another shot. Look at GnR, it happened for them. I don't think our guys have that label of hatred for one another, so it's possible we see them as HIM again in a few years.

...and we'll all be right back here again.

I would have thought that Burton could do something like that.

In no way this music reminds me of Ville. But it's not bad... I guess...

nice hobby - programming some music but who will listen to this? its far from great thing, if someone wants to listen to some game/movie soundtrack - Hans Zimmer and other composers
i dont say i hate it but its like Guns N Roses went to make a disco music. Its just unnatural - this is unnatural way for Ville

off topic - there is an example of how my favorite band or artist went completely to something that i dislike or ended or died.....:( ....:
John Frusciante - left RHCP, abandoned his solo albums as rock/lo-fi/experimental and went to produce rap albums and creating some acid techno music and electro experiments with strange beats :-D
Tom DeLonge - left Blink - looks like for good as he was replaced - blink now sucks, DeLonge went "UFO" lol , i pray for Box Car Racer resurrection but the chance is slim or none ...
Varg Vikernes / Burzum - from black metal to some ralaxing music that sucks
Ramones - dead
Motorhead - well.., dead
Falco - dead
Pagan Reign - split up

i guess i must look for some other bands and artists that are active, touring nearby my country. uhmm i am hopeless  ;D

Just an idea, I donĀ“t know if you know them already but a few weeks ago I started to hear Rival Sons, last year I saw them playing in Rock in Rio and they were awesome, great vocals and band sound, I see a vibe of The Doors and Zeppelin :D

I think it could be very interesting. But I am a big Coheed and Cambria fan so the whole space rock sound holds a certain level of excitement for me. This sounds a bit more electronic but either way, I'm game.
