I would be fucking thrilled to have one more album. I just don't believe it happening. Unless it's almost done, when would they have time to work on it if there touring all year?

Now, thinking about this, if they did have a final album in the works, this could be a big power play. If they didn't have a record deal in place yet, they could be using the announcement of the end and the sales of tour tickets to get a more favorable record deal for the last album...something to think about.

I've been thinking a lot of possibilities about that they could have it finished already since they've had the past how many years off and since they have been gone for so long announcing a farewell tour would be the biggest way to get all of the tour dates sold out the possibilities are endless with the little to no info we have, and they did cancel the no sleep til halloween tour to start working on Venus doom and when they said they were canceling helldone because they wanted to have new music for us and the Daniel lioneye tour cancellation  (I wonder if the drummers arm is actually confirmed to be broken I haven't seen anything) they could have been working on something just like disturbed and avenged sevenfold have done this year, or it can be the complete opposite but they know how much this kills us waiting and having no info so it could go either way but the wait to find out the truth is honestly killing me the same as waiting for US tour dates

Something to take into account is that I would say a large establishment like Eventim are a credible source. Why would THEY feel the need to spark a rumor about some random band? Plus, by the looks of things, this has came from Ville himself, so I would say there is every reason to expect one last album.

I;ve  mentioned that Im suspecting something less an album, LP or a single and reading this makes more hungry. But it doesnt sound too logical.
The touring start in june, so for 10 months (helldone), the guys has to record it, promote it , release it..... but in the same time they will already touring and somewhere in the middle of all this they will split???

Mige said that the band will be released into the wild at the end of 2017.

I think there's a small chance a new song randomly pops up between now and before the US dates start on the farewell tour as a promotional parting gift, but not an entire new album by the end of the year. Not as if this band is one for doing things the conventional way, but I feel like they would've mentioned it along with the farewell tour announcement if there were plans to still release one. I guess they could still do so when the US dates come out, but I don't think a new album is coming.

i dont know, they said what they wanted to say, they announced that they are disbanding HIM in the end of 2017. Even Kosmo had it in the status that HIM 1991-2017. Mige mentioned the end of 2017. I really doubt that there will be anything in 2018 at all. US tour will be in September/October i guess or November. I think they will add some South American dates too.
If there was an album, there is really no reason to make it secret and not mentioning anything. That source is just a blog without any source - could be based on misunderstanding old interviews and misinterpreting Ville...... dont forget that

Am I the only one who hates that Ville can't just be straight up honest ? I mean 616 mentions misinterpritations but come on, the way he sometimes answers questions and then outright changed his answer a week later ? It's no wonder rumors fly around

HIM aren't a band for communications which is fine by me, they are all private chaps and I like the that about them. Some won't lose interest but I can see why people would be annoyed about not hearing from them for ages or not straight up answers from Ville. Last sunday we thought a new album was coming and now with have this turdy news but that's life. Bands are all about social media these days and I think people expect 24/7 these days as people are so accessible in 2017 - facebook, instagram, snapchat which is great but it loses the surprise from the bands as we know whats coming. Maybe HIM just can't be bothered now, maybe we'll get some confirmation with the tour coming up, interviews etc. But in the mean time we'll just sit and wait lol. Maybe after this tour they realize what they are giving up, personally I don't think they'll be pulling in as big of crowds with their solo projects.

I was gonna say "Exactly that, there's no source and I'm not sure who writes these blog posts, so I wouldn't trust their information on stuff beyond the ticket selling". But we have actual news with a credible source now :/

but yeah Ville and the company are pretty quiet, i bet that they just want it to be end as soon as possible, they need to make this obligatory tour. Who knows what actually happened in the band that they suddenly decided to end up HIM legacy....

I would seriously be happy if they opened up the love metal archives and let us pick what we wanted I think I'd prefer that over seeing a farewell tour that would only make me sad I mean yeah I love seeing them live but these guys are geniuses at work with their music I don't understand why they have to be so damn humble and think they deserve the short end of the stick every single time it comes to releasing their material

My biggest reason for believing there will be a 9th album is that they love symbolism so much, and we need the 9th circle of Hell to have it be complete! Wishful thinking, though, I'm sure. Thanks so much for translating that article, Kaysa. You're the best!

I feel like the tour is already over when it hasn't even started yet.

I accepted the fact that there will be no new HIM music and gigs. HIM´s spirit, music and legacy will be there forever. So i feel like nothing changed so drastically. They have not been making new music since 2013 - its been 4 years since the ToT was released. And when i turn back and look at the past .... Dark Light - 2005, Venus Doom - 2007, Screamworks - 2010, Tears On Tape - 2013. Now its 2017. Their pauses - 2006 1/2 year, 2007 - 1/2 year nearly except for April 2007 gigs at Give it a Name festival, 2008 - 1/2 year, 2009, 2010 - 1/2 year, 2011, 2012, 2015 - 1/2 year, 2016, 2017 - 1/2 year as it looks now. They were not so active in those 10 - 11 years, were they? I mean, their pause will just go forever after this Farewell tour, but what it will change?  Not much, they grew up. Ville is fucking 40 years old. I mean, i feel so old already when thinking that they are in their 40s. I see them closing the His Infernal Majesty chapter as the beginning of something different. Maybe the difference will be that they will enjoy their time and families and maybe Ville will start his own family. I am really glad that they did not lose their face. They could be there for the money, it would be terrible. Its obvious that they were not making music because of the money and fame. These guys are awesome and they will always be.

i am so glad that i was not born just now or too early in mid 1900... I was born right on time to have HIM, that is a win for me. I cant be mad.
