http://www.ykkoset.fi/uutisarkisto/vuosi-2017-on-minulle-merkityksellinen-valittamisen-vuosi/ It's confirmed technically. He says in the interview that his schedule for the evening is already decided to be four bands playing, including his favourite one, HIM. But the tickets aren't for sale yet. I think they made the deal of HIM performing in 2017 earlier like three years ago.

any idea if there are plans to shoot the concert proshot? I feel like it's been forever since we've gotten one...since 2013 if i remember right...I'm anticipating if the band has yet to change their live sound (eg, maybe a more Gothic sounding setup around 1998 era) or a "poppy" live sound like we've had recently

We have few proshots from 2014 (Soundwave and Las Vegas are full, some songs only from few gigs too like Poolbar or Knebworth?), there are never plans to do it, this band does it less and less..... if there is no webcast from some festival or some magazine have permission to make some report or something there wont be anything. Chances that they are going to capture the performance for some live DVD release is slim or none. They had poppy sound recently? I dont know maybe i missed something but they sounded pretty normal/decent/hard in 2015 (at least to my ears and my cameras microphones in Bratislava and at the Fezen fest). It most likely depends on the setlist and songs in it.... can you imagine some heavy Heartkiller? Or gothic In Joy and Sorrow? I mean, they sounded like on CD and some songs were heavier than CD - for example Your Sweet 666 was pretty heavy and Bleed well was raw as fuck in 2015. I know what you mean with 1998 - Ville had different sound, they played songs from the first album - of course they sounded more gothic, but how many songs from the first album they are playing ? I dont count Wicked Game as they do RR version , but in 2015 Wicked Game was pretty heavy too! And WLADE is flawless anytime when you hear it live in the venue.

INJAS Gothic would be great!!!! I was recently listening to an old show [Rock am Ring 01] and their effects on the instruments were amazing,as well as the key they played in, my first favorite setup was the VD tour...Heartkiller w/ an organ intro would sound great IMO. what I meant by poppy was that lately HIM has played at a higher key than I've ever heard them....I don't know what changed between 2010 and 2012 (live in hel ep.) but the rasp in Ville's voice seems to be gone...almost like he may have had surgery on his throat....After shuffling through the albums year by year, I noticed that Ville starting singing without "cracking his voice" eg. the first verse of YS666 on GLSV666.
can't tell for sure if it's a studio effect or not but they started using it when recording DSABH.

i want both - tour and them to be in the studio working hard on the new album! warm up tour in the summer on festivals and then fall album and proper tour, that would be nice.

is there anyway to somehow get some kind of fund going? Like a way to buy some kind of equipment to record at the show or pay someone at the soundstage to record the gig. I mean, it may be a grey area, since it's recorded live it cant be copyright. I may be dellusional though, lol

Hopefully we can get a decent sounding recording. I'm talking about actually maybe talking to someone that runs the festival so , hopefully we can record the preformance straight from the soundboard.

Why would any of you want them to go on tour? All you ever do is bitch about the setlist and say they sounded better back in '03.

I generally only moan if the Helldone set list is shit the normal tour shows I expect it and it's my decision to go or not. Hopefully the new tour will mean new album and new songs. I just don't think they realise how much the fans want to hear some different stuff. Even if they just announced a show where they'd play an album in its entirety, it'd be the most excited I'd been for a show in years.

because we are fans, we love them and wanna see them play, wanna see them active and wanna hear them. Of course we are bitching when they play the same overplayed songs but honestly if HIM played in your town, only setlist of wicked game , babl - 5 times each and encore - 5 times rotwoab - would you stay at home or would you go to see them? dont lie , i know you would have been there to see them

I don't care how overplayed it is, the band is unique. I download a bootleg just because Linde improvises a solo or ville changes some lyrics. I have hope that they will keep evolving.

Don't speak for us all. I'd happily go see HIM live and they could play one song and it would still be the best gig ever. It's seeing the band members, wondering what witty remarks Ville will say, it's all that. HIM are one of them bands I'm always wanting to see more and more of. This will be my 9th show in June and I won't be stopping there even if they open up with babl every time. Doesn't bother me one bit.

BUT people do have a point about their set list being repetitive. These five guys have over 10 albums worth of material and it hasn't changed in years. I feel as if they don't listen to their fans. I mean, God knows the crowd would go nuts even if they did ONE random cover at a show. Reminds me of how nuts the crowd went when motionless in white covered "Mother " when they opened up for HIM
