Highly agreed. I love the song on that album that anyone hardly listens too... "Don't close your heart".

Fucking love the whole album at the most.

No one liked the way how DSBH was recorded. It was a stressfull period.

From Synnin Viemaa
Quote
Shadows, lights and nerves breakdowns Deep Shadows & Brilliant Highlight and terrible memories HIM started to record the third album's songs after exhausting Razorblade Romance tour.
After recording the demos the feelings were really high, but soon the band, the record company and many others started to fight. Welcome crises! "Deep Shadows & Brilliant Highlights" sucked to do
...
There were great moments in this record, but the whole making process was so shallow that this record doesn't give so nice feelings"
...
For the first time in my career I got sick and tired of making a record. There were too many people, so at the final part I wasn't even interested. I was just waiting to get this record out, so I didn't have to think about it any more", - says Ville.
"The band members and people from the record company think DS&BH is a negative thing, even though it's positive that the record is made,

The best song off DS&BH is Love You Like I Do.

I don't mean to offend anyone, I'm sure there are people here who like The Rasmus, but the Rasmus comparisations seriously piss me off. I have such strong dislike for them. I don't like Negative either (bar one song) and I think HIM touring with The Rasmus is stupid image-wise (it's like admitting " yes, we are a band for 14 year olds").

That being said, I always find myself astounded when people accuse that HIM went pop with Dark Light- it's like, have you not heard DS&BH? I like DS&BH, but then again I have always admitted that some of HIM's stuff  is borderline pop, enjoyable, yes, but pop.

i dont see where DSBH is poppy...but i can see how DL is. DSBH has a different sound but i think its unique, not poppy.

Deep Shadows is my favorite CD, and sometimes I feel guilty of that, knowing how the band feels. When I met Ville I wanted to ask him why they hardly ever play songs from DSBH when they are on tour, but I thought that might bring up some bad emotions or something. It's a shame really. Some of HIM's best songs come from that CD. Maybe one day the band will look back at DSBH and realize how good it really is.
Come love me 'till it hurts, dance the neon noir with me.

He got Edgar Allan Poe Eyes on his back (no picture of them yet.)  I don't think anyone knows what May refers to.  I believe the new portrait is a French decadent poet whos name is Charles Baudelaire.  Ville plans to have that arm full of portraits.

I can't see him getting it done now.  Cause that of course could change.
