Rambo Rimbaud (Ville's sideproject)

This mysterious act from 'somewhere behind God's back' has until now kept the lowest of low profiles. The few who managed to catch a glimpse of Rambo Rimbaud's live appearances under various monikers in the mid noughties confess in unison that they had been blown away. 'It's hard to put a finger on the music, other than it being out of this world, emotional and very powerful. I actually remember wondering where they have disappeared!' After these humble beginnings, a series of unfortunate events brought about a forced hiatus of almost ten years, but now Rambo Rimbaud is finally working on its debut album, tentatively entitled "Militantly Violent Libertine".

I was wondering (mostly beause of the name) who was behind Rambo Rimbaud. But as I expected, it seems to be Ville.

Who, or what, is Rambo Rimbaud? This is what the artist?s website tells us:

Google informs us that this is a Latin palindrome meaning:

?We go wandering at night and are consumed by fire.?

?The million dollar question:

Who?s the artist who drops the occasional phrase in Latin, loves Baudelaire, and has something of a connection to light??

Ville had been the bass player in a band called Jimsonweed for a short while, before HIM came into existence. Jimsonweed?s charismatic frontman was Suho Superstar. I first got to know Ville Valo, after I had moved to Helsinki (around the time HIM?s first EP was released), and I started working as their guitar tech in 1996.

the beginning of the second song reminds of the beginning of Disarm Me acoustic. both covers sounds great. hard to believe he will release something official with the name Rambo...  but if  the  new album comes really in 2016 this sideproject could be a good way to fill the gap in 2015

everytime i read, see or someone just mentions Rambo .... it automatically reminds me the Hot Shots 2 parody and Charlie Sheen cutting the fence scene

I´m so thrilled about this, I enjoyed both songs but the second one, I don´t know, made me get lost for a few moments here at work ahahaha! My boss was like: "What the heck is he listening too?" 

After watching this, i think it would be good if Ville would release a solo thing next year, his acoustics are always very emotional and touching...

I just might be the only one that didn't really dig the performance. Go figure. That style isn't something I'm particularly fond of. I was hoping for something a lot more uptempo than that. Unless this side-project is strictly a covers only thing, I would've liked for him to have played a song or two of his own written material for the sake of getting some new lyrics to memorize/analyze/jerk off to/laugh at/whatever. I wonder how many women in the audience had to buy a new pair of panties after he was done, though. Anyone know if they were selling any at the merchandise booth? That might've been a good idea for last night to make some more cash. Daniel Lioneye tonight is way more my speed. Can't wait to see some videos from that.
