yeah but without full audio of it, it would be like the first 20 seconds one audio source and the rest another?

btw. i already checked few videos and if you will watch some not "first row" recordings, please notice how most of the cameras in front are all the time pointed only at Ville :D:D

Does anyone else thing Ville's a better drummer than gas? Gas is awesome, but you can only hear dun, dun, dun dun dun so many times. At least Viole changes it up a lot.

he is a drummer, he is the most important thing in the band when they perform live, they ALL need to follow him actually , because he keeps the rhytm
its not that easy, Vilel can change lyrics, sometimes even melody in some parts , Linde can play differently some parts, but Gas he must hold the rhytm

I think another thing is that he's limited in what he can do with HIM's music.  Live, he tends to break out more, but there's not much room for him to let loose.

I woukd have to believe it's gas that chooses to play the same rhythm in nearly every song. I mean, if Ville has final say, we know he isn't afraid to switch it up - remember, the drums were very different in Drawn & Quartered because it was Gas just playing what Ville played.

Oh, and there's like 10 minutes each concert where every member is allowed to improvise. Gas part is always meh.

Or maybe th band just hates Gas and makes him play that way, because his stuff from To Seperate th Flesh from the Bones is varied like a motherfucker.

I guess I'm more mad that he isn't allowed to flex his muscles I. The band like the other members.

We shouldn't forget that Gas was almost to the point of never being able to drum again. We should be glad he recovered and hope the condition never springs up again.

@Eric616 -- Gas just cannot play something different in the song, he could if they were a Jazz band .....

or he can speed up and they will have setlist like Ramones had, 35 songs in 70 minutes. because they played it so fast
can you imagine that shit with HIM? i mean HIM is not a punk rock band, their songs are as they are and the drums are the main thing, do you know what HIM guys are recording in the studio when they are making a new record? Yes, its drums. They are recording drums, then bass, guitars, keyboards and the vocals are the last , then they are making all the bits and pieces like additional guitars, backing vocals and all kind of stuff to make the song complete - arrangement stuff

the drums are the most important, drummer must play it all the way the same, he can only speed up or slow down live , but the rest guys they can play like in Bb instead of in D, you know? They can play some songs lower or some songs higher than original, it depents on the singer anyway, if they played it too high , Ville would have been off key like a dying pig

i actually have no idea what you are thinking actually, Gas just cant play what he wants, he is a drummer
its not like a solo guitar, solo guitarist can play whatever will fit to the melody and will be in the key
drummer must keep the rhytm , so everyone else - bass player, guitar player/s, singer, keyboard player, saxofonist, whoever - they all will be in the rhytm - synchronized
if the drummer fucks up they all will fuck up and it will be screwed totally , its different like when Ville fucks up or Linde overtap the string in the wrong fret so it will be some different tune and it will be off key if its Db and it should have been D, you know?
when Gas fucked up , it was like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVdtHqs2kBY
or @ 1:09 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdH30ET0mko  , dont know what was VilleĀ“s problem.... Gas was playing loud enough , so that "play the louder you fucking fatso" was not nice at all

Gas can improvise only in the Jam parts and in the outro

I've never seen those. And Gas really wasn't playing loud enough. Right after that he starts playing louder. Not nice, but we know Vile is a perfectionist. And has a bad temper. Speaking of changing the songs "I want you to so ever gently fuck me" made me laugh out loud. Haha It was nice to hear non-nasally vocals.

And I've been more critical of Ville. And I know Gas had his wrist/hand problem, but he seems back to normal now. I mean, I didn't see anyone really defending Ville during 2006/Give it a name festival, for having a disease. Or during Helldone 2012.

And I really don't think the band is making him play the same rhythm over and over again. Maybe one of you guys should hit him up on Facebook and ask him about it?

My phone doesn't do anything but preset ringtones but if it weren't a dinosaurus style that only does texting I would totally record that bit of Ville singing the instrumental of Wings of a Butterfly in San Diego and make it my ringtone. That is just great.

As a touring and recording drummer with years experience, My opinion is simply: Gas' drumming serves the music. HIM is not a band with abstract rhythms and off-times. Gas plays what is needed and what fits the music. If Ville wanted things differently, if the producers wanted something differently, they have every chance/option/opportunity. Gas is a solid drummer, but HIM's formula just doesn't allow too much flashy drumming, it would be strange. My example of Gas switching things up, would be 'Into the Night' where he utilizes all of his kit, and drives the song without getting in the way of things. It has a fun bounce that song, the bpm is really driving.

But Gas isn't the only drummer for a band who plays the same thing majority of the time. take the 69 eyes for example.
Same deal where all their backbeats are: do, ta, do-do, ta, do, ta, do-do, ta.

I personally feel Gas best drumming is on VD, particularly SPH and PKF.

Gas is a better drummer the Ville. Reference: To Separate the Flesh from the Bones. That's what Gas used to break the monnatany of drumming in HIM

I, at one time, believed that the drums were always the same, but came to conclusion that there are always small differences.

Nobody picks on Linde for using a palm-mute riff in just about every song.

Fuck it, let's pick on each of them :P
