This was the festival itself they are playing a couple of side shows in the week and that should give a better idea of what to expect on the US tour, hopefully for you guys it's better news.

they really really need to cut the bullshit and stop the 'play only the popular songs so we can get more fans' set list. I'm sorry, they aren't  winning over tons of new fans. In fact, they trimmed off the fat that were the fangirls and fanmoms. So now they are left with really just the hardcore longtime crowd. We've heard all these songs a millions times already. Play shit we haven't heard unless we happened to be at that one random Euro show in 2002 or whatever.  I know I'm just preaching to the choir here.

My one problem with this band over the years is they have never ever been creative with their set lists. They've only gotten worse over the years. I'd say the only exciting thing in the last 5-7 years is probably them doing 'Black Sabbath' after FOH

It's a shame really, after hearing how they played "For you" and DIILWU, it made me hope for more rarely played songs to be added to their set. But I guess not. haha

I fell for that after Helldone 2012 when they played Strange World, Sweet pandemonium, GWTS and pretending. At least they didn't play wicked game so that's a positive  :D

Soundwave festival, Brisbane show setlist:

Buried Alive By Love
Right Here in My Arms
Your Sweet Six Six Six
Passion's Killing Floor
Rip Out the Wings of a Butterfly
All Lips Go Blue
Poison Girl
Soul on Fire
Join Me in Death
Wicked Game
When Love and Death Embrace

ou sh.. seriously?

The Brisbane show was updated on setlist.fm.   At least they did two tears on tape songs instead of just all lips go blue.   I'm just hoping that they play when love and death embrace for the 2014 US tour.

Buried Alive By Love
Right Here in My Arms
Wings of a Butterfly
All Lips Go Blue
Join Me in Death
Your Sweet Six Six Six
Passion's Killing Floor
Wicked Game
Tears on Tape
Poison Girl
Soul on Fire
When Love and Death Embrace

Keep in mind they are playing a smaller set so we will most likely see In Joy and Sorrow, For You or DIILWU on the US tour.

From Janne Tamminen (on Facebook):

"Today when our crew was doing the linecheck at the venue in Melbourne some filthy bastard walked into our dressing room and stole our sound engineer Brad's backbag; Brad lost his two passports with work visas to the places we will be going on this tour in South America, laptop, credit cards, driver's license, ID's, hard disks with the recordings from all the HIM shows last year and what not. Luckily there's a surveillance camera here, so the whole thing has been filmed. I don't have that many friends here, but if the ones I do: Michael James, Simon Shrimp Bizkit, Human Warhead and Robert MacManus could share the photo attached, would be great! Hope to get this scumbag caught! Anyone else can share it too, obviously. Thank you!"

I finally got my ticket in the mail today but it's weird because it says "HIM 2013 U.S. TOUR".   The date says 13 MAR 2014 so I don't know how they could fuck that up lol.

I'm thinking that the set will be pretty close to the New Years Tavastia show with the 19 songs or even maybe a few more due to the fact they are headlining.   I do like that set but it would be nice to hear I Will Be The End Of You or even a few more surprises.

19 songs? keep dreaming buddy
Ville said that in 2013 interview that he is comfortable with shorter 70 minutes sets. When they add solos in wicked game as they are doing it again in Australia and encore song - WLADE with outro jam it is 80 minutes, 16 songs. You can clearly see it, they can perform as long as 20 songs would fit in their time, but they rather do more solos in Wicked game, Kiss of dawn, long intro jam in Funeral of Hearts + first outro, then encore talking and WLADE which is long song and they are doing that longer version and again the second final outro jam.
I am saying it all the time, they are lazy to practice new songs, so they are playing only the same, Poison girl is not new song, they were performing it all the time except for 2013 tour. And you cant compare Helldone setlist with their proper tour, they always play something extra on Helldone - 2009/2010 - And Love Said No, Pretending. 2012/2013 - Sweet Pandemonium, Pretending. 2013/2014 - Death Is In Love With Us, In Joy And Sorrow, For You.
i wonder if they are practicing and making new songs for the new album as they are so inactive in practicing and playing old/new songs on the gigs.
Their concerts are now at its worst with the setlist, but at its best in the sound , Ville is at his best in singing. We cant have everything obviously, but i dont need to hear the same songs again so i will go to the vacation rather then travel to festival in Czech republic to see their "superb" festival setlist.
But it would be nice to have a new album in less than 3 years, what do you think?

As much as I would love a new album coming sooner I think the earliest it would come out is December 2015/January 2016, as they seem to be in the studio a full year before it's out so that would require them going into the studio this coming December?

dunno, i didnt catch any informations on upcoming album and i am trying to see the new interviews but i have no FB , they have no website (heartagram.com is useless) and the questions in the interviews are always the same, and so do the answers.
Did they announce any fall 2014 tour?

I don't think they are planning anything this fall/winter so perhaps they will head into the studio early next year but I can't see a new album coming anytime soon. i think the days of 2 year album cycles are gone.

If there's no tours announced for the end of this year or early 2015, I'd say that's when we'll know if they're in the studio. But I think the next album will be either late 2015 or early/mid 2016.

They are generally on a 2 year schedule for new albums, barring Gas' injury holding TOT up a year. We will probably see an album a year to 18 months from now, so logically they would be going into the studio in the fall/winter of this year.  After sitting out for a long time I don't see them wasting too much time after this tour period before they go back into the studio.

who knows, they did DSBH during 2000 RR massive tour, i mean they had few songs from Dark Light in the Fall of 2003!! Drawn and Quartered was written during or shortly after Screamworks tour in 2010 too. Maybe Ville already has some ideas or maybe melodies , lyrics who knows. The thing was always the label, i remember they delayed the release of some album due to some "stronger"artist with the same label, what it was? Dark Light? i cant recall correctly but it is the same everytime, they are done but they need to wait for months to release it, well actually we have to wait for it. ToT was done completely in 2012 (december) , release in the end of April 2013- it is almost half of the year you know. They had some time before Tavastia - almost 2 months, they had time after Tavastia to Australian mini tour - of course they had some vacation , Gas was in Croatia, but they probably rehearsed something in the studio or rehearsal place. i doubt they had to practice their setlist because they are practicing it on every show because they play still the same songs. So maybe there are already some songs recorded as demos. Maybe they will do it in Fall/Winter this year, and maybe after one year from now they will have something new released.
But if there is something they should definitely do, i would say it is another DVD like Love Metal Archives. They did volume 1 from 4 albums and after 8-9 years of active pop career. Now another 4 albums were released from that DVD and another 9 years passed. Its time to please the fans and release something for a Christmas :-D
