Well you can go and actually read about the name in various Cultural books.
There have been various specials, ever since Miami Ink became popular they went back and informed people of the meaning of all that Art. I personally would love to own that DVD, it speaks about the European, Indian, Middle Eastern and Asian Art related to tattoo's. It spoke about the Slavery, Wedding Bands, Religions Markings and as mentioned above ... the Soul/ Core idea of tattoo's.

As for the info of Wikipedia being misleading, they have tried to lock most information so retards don't go and post that Hitler did infact survive his death, had one testicle and all of those rumours that were never proven.
But the ones that remain open are because they can add info, not change it.

nope lol all you need to do is keep it clean and it will heal its self Vaseline will suffocate the skin and stop it healing early tattoo fading is down to sunlight, picking scabs or poor tattoo quality usually meaning it wasn't deep enough
