Hi I was looking for a bit of advice on the HER items, how rare are they? How many of the promos were released? etc

HER items are rare. They were only produced for a short time frame, and in limited quantities, generally speaking 1,000 or less depending upon the item. Officially, there were 2 HER promo CDs produced, one contains only Join Me and is significantly easier to find than the HER three track sampler that was only available with Bam Margera skate decks.

I've also heard there is a second variation of the Join Me promo, although I have no idea what is different about it. The text is probably shifted to one side or the other or something stupid like that.

Thanks for the info I've got all 3 and two varients of the Join Me's one glossy and one matte but no-one seems to know much about the pink cardsleeve and was wondering what it's worth?

The pink cardsleeve is extremely rare, that's the one that came with the Bam boards. I couldn't give you a specific dollar amount because most of the time it changes hands privately.  BTW, if you are looking to sell yours, PM me.  ;D

The pink one you're talking about just sold for $350 on eBay. Actually, it might've been $350 or best offer, so maybe less than that. It's still the rarest and most valuable of them all, though. $200 or more easily.

I think it's kind of ridiculous, but that's the way HIM collecting goes. One person sells something for a crazy amount, and all of a sudden that's the value no matter what. I wish there were a happy medium. I don't care about selling my stuff and making a profit on any of it. In fact, I'm prepared to lose money on everything I own.

Just because something is hard to find doesn't necessarily equate to high prices. I've paid FAR less for some CDs that NEVER come around for sale. It's all about some inflated sense of demand caused by casual fans.

Yes I agree with you completely as with 666 ways to love, as soon as someone got $600-$700 for it that was considered its value.

I will probably never own a copy of 666 WTL, just because I'm not paying that amount for a CD with only four songs on it. If I do, that'll be the last thing I get to finish off my collection. I don't even consider it rare anymore. Everyone's trying to sell theirs while people will still pay that much for it. Like Daedalus said, there are far more CDs that are more uncommon and don't demand anywhere near as much as 666 WTL does.

I was lucky and got mine as a gift so I don't know what it cost. I recently picked up an All Lips Go Blue promo and I'm sure there are considerably less of those than 666 ways to love but they're never going to sell for that amount.

I have an All Lips Go Blue promo too, but I only paid $80 for mine, which is considerably less than what I've seen them go for on eBay. $80 is still a whole lot for one song, but at least I got somewhat of a "deal" on it.

I'm not sure why they go for that much. You can get a Heartkiller promo, for example, for $10.

I think they go for a lot because they were out about a month before Tears On Tape and people wanted the track.

I've seen less Strange World promos so far than All Lips Go Blue promos. I wanted one, but the last one went for like $150 or something ridiculous like that. No thanks. The first few didn't go for that much.

I think it would be funny for someone to film themselves taking their copy of 666 WTL into a store that buys and sells used CDs. They wouldn't offer more than a few dollars for it probably. We are the only people in the world who this stuff is valuable to. There are a lot of people who collect HIM items, but nowhere near as much as other collectibles where the items will always retain their value or go up because of new generations of people getting into it. I love my collection, you love your collection, but none of this stuff has any "real world" value, you know what I mean? I'm not going to ever stop collecting until I have everything or at least everything I want, but sometimes I have to remind myself how crazy I am, despite how much I love the band and how much I love my items, for paying these amounts for this stuff. Since they're just a band, people are always moving on and getting into other things and selling their collection. Eventually, the market is going to be flooded with people selling rare HIM items. There's always someone selling something, but I mean on a larger scale. Once that happens, the value of all this stuff is going to considerably drop. I knew that going into collecting, and that's the reason why I refuse paying certain amounts for certain stuff.

Well that's the thing most of us aren't collecting for money it's because we love this band and what started out as owning all the studio albums and a few hot topic shirts turned into wanting to own everything. I accept there are things I'll never own like the 2 demo tapes and probably the 2 track wicked game because I'm not paying the asking price. Yes none of this is worth anything to anyone but HIM fans, I mean all these promos were given away for free and look how much people will pay for things like ALGB and DS&BH work in progress and so on.

I would hope no one gets into collecting to make money, but therein lies the problem. If I buy something for $200, let's say, what do I sell it for? Regardless if it's worth that much, people are always trying to make their money back and then some. Can't blame them for that, but then that price becomes the "norm" for that item. If you want it, you have to pay at least that much or more. You're absolutely right about those promos. People are making a killing off of us stupid fans. At the end of the day, though, I enjoy collecting, but I don't enjoy spending a fortune on something that's not going to be worth anything in the future. It's the thrill of the hunt, though, trying to find these things and get them for a good price.

yes it is, and it was printed on cd-lynja oy, same finland cd printing company that also do the GLS reprint, and other finnish HIM cds
