I almost went with the 650s over the 800s because of the price point (of course) and all of the reviews with people saying that they preferred them over the 800s for just your standard listening of pretty much every genre except maybe classical because the 800s were too bright to them to the point of being unlistenable as well as too “clinical” sounding. Personally I've never had a brightness issue, luckily, although I can understand what they mean about them sounding clinical. Some albums, while still sounding good, just don't feel like they have much life to them, but to me it's just an accurate representation of what those albums truly sound like for better or worse and I like that, and once you find the right one it's like magic. They really show off the difference between something mixed and mastered well compared to something that's not, which just stands to reason when you listen to an album that's done properly and with care in both regards the music nearly comes to life. It's fun as hell to go back and listen to songs you've heard hundreds of times and it's like hearing them for the first time ever and you notice things you never heard before. I love seeking out which pressing of an album is the “best” and then getting it. I just have a blast all around with music now.

I travel too much to use anything but terrible cheap in-ears xD Then again, I've probably already ruined my hearing anyway so there's that.

I didn't check out what Fall Out Boy did after their hiatus until recently and it took me no time at all to fall in love with American Beauty/American Psycho. I'm getting into Save Rock and Roll as well, particularly The Phoenix and My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark.
Currently I specifically adore Jet Back Blues for the line
She's singing "Baby come home" in a melody of tears While the rhythm of the rain keeps time
I really, really love that line.

Will you dance to this beat and hold a lover close

HIM - The Path (P.S. Version)
We are the ones with moonlit hearts - run to me
We are the ones with moonlit hearts - run to me
We are the ones with moonlit hearts - run to me
And we belong to another world
Run to me

I've all but completely converted to synthwave-type music as of late lol. There's just something about it and I find the number of new artists and music each day is pretty staggering. Definitely a thriving community.  Here's a few gems I've gathered since last posting.

I really want to see these guys live.

If you haven't played FFXIV then you're missing out on great music and probably one of the greatest stories of all time across all media... books, movies, tv etc. It easily makes my top 3. This is a new song (released on 24th) and the lyrics in the video isn't 100% accurate. It reminds me of Evanescence's Sweet Sacrifice and a HIM song that I can't quite place, maybe something from Venus Doom or some remix. The part in question is at 1:23.

Just to give you a sense of the god-tier level of storytelling, this song was written before the game even came out back in 2013 and the lyrics weren't fully understood until as recent as last year. The story arc that began in the original game (released 2010, but was utterly broken and remade) just wrapped up for the most part.
