i honestly dont really see anymore covers comming out.

if they do...its gunna be a 'label' decision...not the bands...i just dont see them doing anymore covers for an album again...live yes...studio...not so much...

doing a cover song i think would have came out with DL if it was going to...or mayybe when the US hype dies out...the label may make them do a cover song...but other than that...i dont see it...if you dont understand my reasoning...doing a cover song is/has always been the "safe" way for the label to make sure the band gets on the charts...been doing it "since the beginning of time....5 years."
(ANYONE KNOW WHERE THAT QUOTE CAME FROM!? +5 IF YOU DO....)

mayybee...just mayyybe...we could get another SM-like single...but...i dont think we'll be seeing a DFTR album song ever ever again...

it was the first...and it was the last...

(ALSN doesnt count...greatest hits cd...so...get it outta your head.....i know what you were thinking! i know!)

just my 2 cents...

I could see them doing a Black Sabbath cover for an album since they are such an inspiration for HIM

I think Sabbath is the only band they would cover at this point in their career.

as far as groups covering him, and forgive me if its been mentioned, Im not reading through all 18 pages...

but if you like goth/industrial, dope stars did a pretty decent cover of "right here in my arms"

also...

I could see Ville dressing up as a nun (St. Scream) if you will and covering O Happy Days! (Sister Act referance)   ;D

Also,

Oh and these covers as well..

Welcome Back Kotter
Saved By The Bell
Family Matters
Inspector Gadget Theme (ILL GET YOU GADGET!!)
Captain Planet

I kind of want to hear them do an acoustic cover of Daniel Lioneye's King of Rock and Roll since they already did the cover of Lonely Road and it was amazing!!!

1. "Nights in White Satin" - Moody Blues
2. "The Sound of Silence" - Simon & Garfunkel
3. "Crimson and Clover" - Tommy James & the Shondells
4. "Time of Season" - The Zombies

This is more or less a list of some of my favorite classic pop tracks, though would love to hear their renditions none the less (just as long as they don't go the way of the Razorblade Romance version of "Wicked Game").

I love seeing that quite a few HIM fans like Maiden. That's interesting because I posted a thread on a Maiden forum asking if anyone liked HIM and out of over 10 replies, only 1 person said they did! It's great to see the opposite on here. I'd love to hear Ville sing some Maiden as well! And some Queensryche too. I'd love to hear him on Eyes Of A Stranger!

After reading this I have so many thoughts! So I think I am gonna list it like this-

LOL- "Join Me in bed", Captain Planet, and then someone mentioned Sade. That made me think of HIM trying to put the 666 smackdown on Smooth Operator because that is the only song by her I know.... it was weird.

Agreement- Joy Division- Love Will Tear Us Apart, Moody Blues- Nights In White Satin, The Zombies- Time of the Season, Anything by Poisonblack or with Ville Laihiala *Edit- This post should have said Juha-Pekka Leppäluoto.

My crazy picks-

Iron Butterfly (I prefer the Thunderstorm version)- In A Gadda Da Vida
Garbage- Only Happy When It Rains
Trapt- Black Rose
Imogen Heap- Come Here Boy Girl
The Jacksons- Torture
Adam Lambert- Anything from the Beg For Mercy album or If I Had You

There's a myriad of rock songs that they could cover - and do justice to - but I think it's more fun to think about some off-the-wall other genre stuff. Here's my list of songs I'd love to hear them do:

"Everytime" by Britney Spears - They could do a great version of this. Maybe like a bit more rocking version of the Glen Hansard version.

"So Beautiful" by Darren Hayes - Maybe the time for this one would've been more like back in the Screamworks days, but I'd love to hear Ville's crooning on this track.

"Baby Baby" by The Vibrators - Okay, I'm being silly on this one. I just love how nearly all of the lyrics are "Baby" over and over.

"I'm Not In Love" by 10cc - Faster, more punk version with big guitar and a heavy, thumping bass part would be sweet.

"I Wanna Be Your Dog" by The Stooges - Would be a badass unexpected live cover.

[cross post] Cat Steven's "Last Love Song"

Quote
If you don't love me
Please don't treat me this way
Cause I can't stand it
I see our love slipping away
Did you think you could just put me down
Like a worn out shoe
Cause if you don't want me
Maybe I don't want you

If you don't need me
Don't leave me out in the cold
Eyes drifting by me
Like somebody you don't know
Did you think that you could just walk away
Anytime you wanted to
Cause if you don't love me
Maybe I don't love you

Did you think that you could just put me down
For somebody new
Cause nobody can love you girl like I do
Every little bird in the sky
Would sing a song of love

If you would just take me back
Come on open up your heart again
Let me in baby baby

If you don't love me
Stop fooling yourself
No more acting
I know your show too well
Did you think that you could just shake my hand
With a how d'y'do
Cause if you don't want me
Maybe I don't want you

Oh and as you go through life
It's the little things that come back again
If you came back again
You know i'd give my loving to you

Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles.  Although I think this is influenced by my love of Ghost's cover...

That thing you said about Baby, Baby being your silly pick is kind of the idea of why I would like anything from Adam Lambert's Beg For Mercy album, because it has some kind of racy lyrics I would just like to hear Ville sing, I think my fav being "suck on a smoking gun". Mp3's Killed The Record Companies doesn't have anything like that but I also think it would be interesting. I just feel like the more pop like a song is the more badass it would be if they did it.

I like this list.....the Moody Blues would be a nice cover!  It's so hard to pick something because I think there are a lot of songs the band could really knock out of the ball park. If I added anything to the list I would pick Duran Duran "Come Undone".
