Greatest lovesongs vol 666 - 98% (loved every song on it, it is only too short so it is not 100%)

Razorblade Romance - 95% (loved every song except for heaven tonight

Deep Shadows - 85% - really great album, almost all the song, except for close to the flame, beautiful (album version)

Tears On Tape - i love all the songs except for Unleash the red and Lucivers chorale - really good album! 85%

Dark Light - 80% - for me great album, the most underrated one they did, i love every song except for dark light and the face of god, but the impression is really good because the bonuses are really great, venus in our blood is one of my favourite HIM songs

Love Metal - 79% - totally good album, i really love it but it is just 79/100 ,cant help it

Screamworks - 30 % - better than nothing, better than Venus Doom, but too soft, far from the His Infernal Majesty like hell, badly mixed, demos are better from what i heared to the day, Ode to solitude = the worst HIM chorus ,totally screwed song with it( and it could have been really great song), retarded album title.....

Venus Doom - 10% - i hate that album, their biggest mistake, so boring , songs are long without any reason, filled with "heavy" interludes and outros and it has totally retarded album cover with no HIM logo, name on it... wtf

% are the songs on the album i like compared to all the songs on the album + overal impression of the whole album

  • Greatest Lovesongs
  • Razorblade Romance
  • Dark Light
  • Venus Doom
  • Love Metal
  • Screamworks - D.S.B.H.

I like'em all, love the poetic lyrics in D.L., V.D. & Screamworks
The simplicity of DSBH
The metal riffs and dark vocals of greatestlovesongs
And R.R. for being the very first HIM album I ever heard
Love Metal is the album that I love and/or hate, it depends of my mood. Never like "Soul on fire" & "Buried alive..." ever

I didn't realize so many people put Dsbh so far down on their lists. No love, man.

i know what your saying because it was my favorite at one point but the album is to soft compared to the other albums.   it was an experimental album and i remember hearing gas didnt like working on it.

From what I understand, none of them enjoyed working on that album and it nearly brought them to the point of breaking up. I suppose that's one reason why they don't play DSBH songs live all that much nowadays. It's a shame. To me, it's the quintisential HIM album. You've got your "singles", you've got a straight up rocker, you've got ballads, and you've got atmosphere oozing all over the place. If there is someone out there that has never heard HIM before, you can have them listen to DSBH from start to finish and they will hear a variety of sides of the band.

1.Razorblade Romance
2.Love Metal
3. Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights
4. GLV 666
5.Venus Doom
6.Scream Works
7. Dark Light ( I will say though I've been growing to appreciate this album much more lately, really growing on me.)
The first 5 I love equally, but more than the last two.
The last two of my list I love the same just not as much as the first five. But honestly I don't think they have a bad album. Considering what other shit there is put these days. I have a feeling #8 might jump to the top of this list very easily. Really good feeling.

1. Greatest Lovesongs, Vol. 666
2. Razorblade Romance
3. Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights
4. Tears on Tape
5. Screamworks: Love in Theory and Practice
6. Love Metal
7. Venus Doom
8. Dark Light

Their first three albums make the definitive HIM experience.

In my view, Love Metal wrote the blueprint and laid the groundwork (that they will likely never stray from) for all following releases: Dark Light, Venus Doom, Screamworks, and Tears on Tape. In my opinion, Tears on Tape is their best album, “post-Deep Shadows”.

I agree with you on this one. After consideration this is my revised album ranking, although I could see Tears On Tape taking over the third spot over time:

1. Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights
2. Razorblade Romance
3. Greatest Lovesongs
4. Tears On Tape
5. Venus Doom
6. Love Metal
7. Screamworks
8. Dark Light
