Ok, I previously said the album sucks balls. After a more than a few listens I definitely like the first part until Trapped in Autumn. Tears on Tape is still not doing it for me an even Into the Night sounds much better even if it is a bit of a disappointment after the intro. But from the second part I've grown into Drawn & Quartered, can't explain it but it's cool. "when W.L.S.T.D so do I" is bit cheesy but all in all an adequate piece.

I still don't appreciate this too much and Screamworks is way ahed on my listings. A solid album after all and HIM-guality for sure.

One more thing, negative I'm sorry... No one has spoken of the extra tracks, the Finnvox recordings? How about that Heartkiller and especially the last half of it? I can't fuckin' believe they put that on record. I'm sorry to put it out there but as a HIM fan myself I think I'm entitled.

I actually prefer the Finnvox version more than the studio version.

Ok. I just can't take those "oehoeh"s. Fucking horrible shit.

And don't get me wrong I've bought all of the albums and seen a few gigs in my time. I wouldn't expect anyone to dismiss HIM here but c'mon, everything HIM does isn't fucking gold.

No. They are capable of producing a shit product.  You won't be castrated for expressing your opinion.  In a way I think it was kind of lazy to put out a live EP instead of something else.

Then again, their b-side remixes of songs are usually shit.

I see the Live in Hel. as a sign of new beginnings and a tribute to their fans as a token of appreciation for sticking with them through what was probably a shitty era for them (As far as record labels are concerned). It wasn't meant to promote or try the sell the band at all... There's a reason why it's only included in the "FAN" pack. And honestly... How many other bands can record something such as this live and sound as good? There are many bands whose singers sound great on the albums, but perform horribly live.

Hopefully Ville will be into these shows and give great performances.  I think he will be.

It seems like he was burnt out in the past, so maybe the break was good.

Do you know when is the band going to announce more tour dates?
When they do it, you could add them to the main site or write them in the thread,
please keep us informed about the tour dates, there are only a few announced.
I miss HIM !!

This is the first great review of Tears on Tape I've seen so far. It seems like people really know what they're talking about.

That tour is the only one this year. :(

From what I understand, this is a warm up tour for next year.

They are supposed to go on another tour at the end of the year. As far as the current tour, no new dates are expected.

After a few more spins I still can't say I'm absolutely convinced by TOT, but have to admit I love all those little references to older albums and different bands. (Or maybe it's just me who hears all this weird stuff ;))
The solo part in Love Without Tears kicks off with a riff that really resembles Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and the way said solo finishes is a total rip-off of Sabbath's National Acrobat :D
W.L.S.T.D's intro sounds like something that could easily make Type O Negative's record.
I'm sure there's more of these, I'll just have to listen more carefully. (Already mentioned some of my Turbonegro-Sabbath impressions earlier, haven't I?)
For my name is sorrow and I'm a friend of misery
I deprived myself of love for eternal agony
And I don't even dare to try - I know I can only lose
Between this life I live and nothing I have to choose

5 days out from the Finnish/German releases...shit's about to get real.

OH, and Newburycomics now has the standard edition with the autographed booklet. Fuckers. That's what I'd have preferred to begin with!

I hope this album sells well. I mean REALLY well. It would a be nice way to show the band that us fans are still here after the long hiatus.

Me too. Let's break the US top 10 this time! The week of it's release it's one of the only major albums, other releases include LL Cool J, Kenney Chesney, Iggy Pop, and Deep Purple. They ain't running against fucking Selena Gomez or Adele or something.

New interview with Ville and Mige on X - Fm Radio Rock - show 21.04.2013

OMG, today is the first concert in Germany.
I hope Ville will cope with the nerves and the butterflies in his stomach and it will not be as Helldone...
