Decent start to the setlist changes, but I hope more are to come and they actually stick with them throughout their tour here in the US. It would be cool to hear DIILWU and In Joy And Sorrow live again, and they soundchecked For You back in 2004 when they came to Chicago for the first time, so that would be cool too to see them actually play it in front of me as opposed to hearing it from the outside. Only songs on the setlist I don't think I've heard live personally are the new songs, WLADE, and For You.

It's nice to hear "For You" and DIILWU again. Let's hope they add even more classics back into the set.

Death Is In Love With Us is one of my all time favorite HIM songs - I really hope they carry that one over for the US tour. I'm going to Atlanta and both Florida shows.....it's my birthday week, what the hell, right? LOL.

I jizzed for IJAS. And I will again if they play it on the next US tour. I lost my shit when they played it in 2006, which was unexpected.
Come love me 'till it hurts, dance the neon noir with me.

Have any GOOD bootlegs emerged yet? They don't necessarily have to be recorded with proper equipment and in lossless. I've only listened to Death Is In Love With Us from the first show so far.

Just looking around YouTube (it's sad that's where all the bootlegs come from these days) and the best source I've found so far is from djibril84. Anyone find anything better than that?

Also, I'd just like to mention I'm kind of disappointed they didn't do anything special for the New Years show. Yeah, they did add a few older songs onto the setlist at the start of the festival, which was definitely welcomed, but I remember back when the New Years show was something every fan wanted to go to because it was THE definitive HIM show of the year, not only due to the tradition of it, but because you were likely to experience something you wouldn't be able to otherwise. They're pretty much just like any other show now.

And another thing, haha. I wish they'd put Strange World back onto the setlist. I thought it was going to become a staple kind of like Wicked Game, but I was completely wrong. I'm pretty tired of hearing Wicked Game, as I'm sure all of you are too, but we probably wouldn't be here bitching about shit if it weren't for that song. Join Me is what really turned them into superstars, but there wouldn't have even been a Join Me without Wicked Game being a hit for them first.

Swag has a good point
we were bitching because of their setlist is made of singles and what they did? they replaced non-singles for singles + non singles ,but the result is they just keep playing the same songs over and over on every gig, every tour, every year
Even Tavastia show was lame this year from what i have heard and thats pretty shitty because there was a lot of fans from all around the world and they all heard 90% of the same setlist  ;D
If you check on the setlist changes its a not really a change
90% of the set is still there (they retired Hearts At War + I Will Be The End Of You + Sleepwalking Past Hope = all these are NON-Singles!) and they replaced them with - Poison Girl , In Joy And Sorrow (singles) and they added two more non singles - For You and Death is in Love..)
So now their setlist is - only singles (15 songs) + 4 non singles songs . And i need to add that they performed 19 songs on Helldone shows, and they performed only 16 or less on the 2013 tour (festivals and Europe and Rock Allegiance).

and why i think their "changes" suck? because they just added another singles and they totally fucked on the overplayed Wicked Game, BABL , Butterfly .,... and thats it, they are still boring but HELL AWESOME live - Ville is at his best (his voice and singing are perfect, his best live year - 2013)
ok FOR YOU is beautiful song and i am really happy that they performed it, Death Is In Love With Us is short but still pretty rocking
i am asking - WHY the hell they rehearsed just 4 (old) new songs? Why they need to have a setlist made of Singles?

i think their singles are not their best songs on the albums and the singles are badly chosen almost on every album, i think only DSBH has well chosen singles and they are both radio friendly and easy-going to the non-HIM listener and maybe they are better than the rest of the album (non-single) songs .....
if you pick Love Metal single BABL - it has only nice title but there are better songs on this album then BABL.... even SoF is better and its not a single but is over-performed song so they should retire this one too. Its not well chosen single at all

and ad absurdum : why they are still playing these F@@@#@# solo parts in Kiss Of Dawn and Wicked Game? i mean its just a killed time for another great old song- for example "Vampire Heart (non-single song!)"......

Happy New year my friends , i hope you all will have better setlist on the upcoming tours in 2014 , have fun and dont record the shows from the first row  ;D

I can understand the band playing what's essentially a "greatest hits" setlist during festivals like Rock Allegiance, for example, where they're not the only band playing and not everyone there bought a ticket to see them. You might as well just play the hits and leave at shows like that. No reason to really rehearsal any older or different material for shows like that. When they're headlining their own festival that they themselves created, where every single person in attendance bought a ticket just to see them, and a lot of them traveled from all over the world and spent a lot of money to do so, it's almost offensive to play that same greatest hits setlist for those fans. They deserve something different. I'm sure the fangirls went home happy. They got to hear their favorite songs, which are almost always the singles, and they got to be the in same building as Ville and stare at him the entire time. They would've went home happy regardless of what the band played. The rest of the fans, though, I'm sure they enjoyed In Joy And Sorrow, For You, and Death Is In Love With Us, but they probably left wondering why they paid so much to see a show they could've seen for a lot cheaper later on. Even though the fangirls make up the majority of the audience nowadays, there's gotta be a better mix between the singles they wanna hear, and the older/more obscure songs the rest of the people wanna hear. I doubt a lot of people go to the New Years show as their first HIM show ever, or just on a whim without knowing the majority of HIM's catalogue, so it makes no sense not play songs they don't normally play. Give every single fan in attendance their money's worth. It's supposed to be a special show for hardcore fans of the band, but it certainly hasn't ended up that way lately in recent years.
