IWBTEOY is my favourite track from Tears On Tape, I really hope they play it when I see them in London. :) Great video!

I was at the Amsterdam gig. It was good to see HIM live and Ville's voice from front row. But the show SUCKED! No connection with the public, no talks between songs. Before I knew it, a new song was started - a train on high speed this concert!!

Btw, you can see me on the ''I will be the End'' video...Front row, between Mig? and Ville, with the black tshirt & Beanie ^_^

But the good thing (my day was epic!) because ;

1. I took place in the HIM truck (trucking is my thing)
2. Got setlist (arranged it before the show started) with the crew
3. I got autographs from all HIM members - They liked the selfmade audio bootleg concert CD i've made :D
4. After the crew-guy gave me signed CD back when support act was finished, i got like 1 minute of fame around me :P

Later i've heard (from Gas himself) HIM was in a bar close to the venue....Was planning to go there, but after waiting 14 hrs.....you're tired as hell.

Ohwyeah, somebody told me he recorded the Amsterdam gig. Will working on it to get it. Then will upload it here. Dont have any info to share about quality, only that its complete....

the Prague show - very very short - no changes in the setlist, no talking to the crowd + no one in the entire venue heard a single tone , it was just a constant loudness - the sound tech totally screwed it

all i have heard from the entire performance was : join me intro + the funeral of hearts acoustic ville intro + drums  :D :D
a lot of people around me were bored like hell it was weird to be on this kind of a concert

actually there is a short review from the last night ,it is in czech so you need to translate it:

i agree to the last word with this article - the sound engineer totally screwed it like no one before-i dont know what he was thinking or if he was deaf or on crack ......

http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=cs&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=sk&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.novinky.cz%2Fkultura%2F316000-him-love-metal-v-chaosu.html&act=url

but some of the equipment ,cameras and cellphones handled this constant noise well as i saw some video on the youtube ,but for the human ears it was just a noise , not a concert

i dont know what happened to the guys but only Gas looked like he was really enjoying this show +playing, the rest was totally like programmed robots or something like that - no passion, no connection

I guess it gets very tiresome playing the same 16 songs in the same order every concert since April no wonder they are playing like robots, Have all the shows been that bad? as I've only seen the videos on Youtube and not going to one until later in the UK.

but they are the masters of their setlist, if they are tired of playing the same 16 songs , they are free to change it, or?

Well I guess the guys assume it's all good for the casual fans but the "die hard" fans don't want to keep hearing Wicked Game, Join Me, Buried Alive By Love, WOAB, even kiss of dawn is becoming a constant. We'd all like to hear some non singles but I can't see it happening

When they toured the States they had to fight for their lives every single night, the abuse they took from the Volbeat fans was merciless. When you're being boo'd, flipped off and screamed at to get off the stage you try harder. They had to prove they were a great band every night. Now they are headlining in Europe and can put it on cruise control, all they have to do is show up and 99% of the audience will cheer and say it was amazing.

What you are saying, i can think that is true and can be hard for HIM for this EU tour, after a sad USA Tour. But still, i think that is no excuse to maka a gig bad... as band you need give 100% every show. I'm a die-hard fan, and i will never stop being a fan NO MATTER WHAT! But let's face the fact, this EU Tour is not going as it should be.

Also with Metallica, HIM was ''shit'' for Metallica fans. I think HIM should stop doing those shows, and only give gigs and normal festivals. If you ask me, HIM only needs to come to USA for normal HIM gigs. USA get always more advantage, that's unfair. At the end, it's an European Band. Now i might sound like a cry baby, but i don't care - this is my opinion.

i dont think they care about some Volbeat rude fans, Ville said he is not even reading news, its a business, they are at work on every show, they dont have to be afraid if someone will buy their ticket, they have a huge fan base so they dont need to prove someone that they are better than some Volbeat or what, everyone has a different opinion and music taste.
leets face the truth , we love HIM no matter what and we would pay a fortune just for 45 minutes set of wicked game and halfplayback only just to see them   ;D  this is an addiction, but unfortunately i wasnt overdosed after the Prague concert

I didn't expect a drastic change of setlist for this European tour. I certainly didn't think that poll would be put to use at all, but they normally change up the setlist for the European audience as compared to the American audience. I think Ville still thinks all we know here in America are the singles. Obviously, that's not the case. Still, I can't believe they're using pretty much the same setlist in Europe as they did here, especially when they're the sole main act now. That's inexcusable. I just saw Nine Inch Nails recently, and they played like 25 songs. I don't expect HIM to play that many, but it just made me realize how half-assed the band has become with their live shows. Granted, things started going downhill in 2005, but you'd think they'd wanna come out now and give fans something to remember after their long hiatus. I wanna go see them again, at least one more time, but they need to give me something to look forward to other than just being at a HIM concert. Other than the new songs, it's almost the same exact show I've seen several times before. It's like watching the same movie over and over again. You might like the movie enough to watch it more than once, but eventually it gets to the point where you don't have the same desire to watch it again because you know what's going to happen.

The ridiculous thing is the more albums i.e. songs they have bought out the more predictable the setlist has beame.I think the lack of changes to the setlist is just laziness to a point Ville may say they have no time but they toured maybe 15 shows between Helldone 2012 and Rock Allegiance in 7 1/2 months come on they have time to rehearse a couple of songs. To be fair to the band I think the poll thing was more to do with the UK street team than the band.

of course this poll was a bulls***
how they imagined it? like "Hey HIM we made a poll about what you should play live and the winner song was The Phantom Gate ,we know you have no time to practice anything that old but it was a winner so you should play it" ... "ok nevermind we will"

they already retired 2 entire albums - DSBH and Screamworks, they wont play any rarely or never played song live

even i PMed Gas on FB and asked him abut the setlist for the European tour - it was when Rock Allegiance tour was about to end, i got no response unfortunately, all i asked was Resurrection for the Prague show  ;D ;D  i had to try it  :D

I've talked to Gas a few times on Facebook now. He even surprised me with a happy birthday message on my birthday. We're pretty much best buds now. I could've tried to hook that up for you, haha.

But, yeah, Gas seems like the only one that really has a passion for touring and playing music to an audience nowadays. Tears On Tape wasn't some elaborate masterpiece that took forever to write and record, so that should've left the band with plenty of time to rehearse some new material to play live. There's no excuse why some songs aren't on the setlist. The ones that are, they've played so many times before that I don't see them needing much time to run through them and get used to playing them together again.

One more thing I almost forgot, the cancelled tour. You would think they would try to make up for that, as most bands would, regardless of the reason for the cancellation. From the moment the band made their long awaited return, from finding out XX was originally intended to be a disc of rarities, but Ville felt the fans wouldn't want that and would rather have another greatest hits compilation, to the website STILL not being up, the lackluster promotion for the album, the lackluster album itself, the cancelled tour, the same old boring and predictable setlist...it just doesn't feel like the HIM of old, even of the Screamworks era, right now. I hope things get better, but I don't see it improving by much. They need to find that fire and that passion again, and I will too right along with them. No more playing it safe. No more just going through the motions. If they're going to just do that from now on, they might as well give it up, sadly.

I've just back from Munich concert. For first time i've got a nice view of the stage and the guys. No changes in the playlist. I will be the end of you is  my fav song on stage so far.... 3 songs recorded in FULL HD.

I'm ok with the short playlist.

We will play for about an hour and a half and it?s from the very first album to the last one, and taking pretty evenly from each one. There?s a lot going on, it?s not just the hits.?

I think Ville is delusional.
