I didn't really check out the merch up close.  It looked lackluster and looked like stuff we could find on the shop.  My favorite piece of HIM merch by far has been that pewter flask from a few years back.  I loved that thing and some motherfucker stole it.

(Yes, I'm still bitter) :)

Between football, Dexter, Breaking Bad, and GTA 5, I haven't done anything to the audio but extract it to my comp.  I'll see what I can do tonight.  I've been extremely lazy these past few days.

Where do I start??? OMG I had THE BEST time at both the Atlanta and Greensboro shows!!! I got in line at like 2:30 in Atlanta for the signing and scored a wristband and was able to meet the band... they signed my HIM book.  I tried to find a place to sit in the venue but dammit there was nothing- so I wasn't able to record at all!  The next day my friend and I drove up to Greensboro- quite an odd place for a concert but it was incredible.  We had seats but c'mon, can you really sit down at a HIM show if there is plenty of room to stand? I was able to capture some good pictures of the band and learn more about my dslr camera.

The guys sounded INCREDIBLE at both shows. Honestly, Ville sang like an angel and I was so excited and happy that I had the chance to do both shows.  I've attached a few pictures to share!

And I have to say that the Volbeat fans are jerks, overall, in my opinion.  And quite honestly, the band was not my cup of tea. My friend has all their albums and likes them but we saw the EXACT same show from them in Atlanta - down to the exact words the singer was saying in between the songs.  That kinda crap just bores me.  Seriously, think up something a little more creative than the same shit.  Anyway, I ran into a Volbeat fan at the Atlanta show who was bragging about knowing their tour manager and how she had "VIP" tickets to get in first and she made a comment that 90% of the fans in line were HIM fans and that she could "easily" take them out if need be to secure a front row spot in front of the stage.  I just looked at her (how obvious it was that I am a HIM fan, especially with the heartagram jewelry I was wearing) and just said "Is that really necessary? This is concert - it's just music- do we need to be violent?"  She looked at me and said "Oh, I wouldn't hurt you or anyone, I just fight for the front row."   Pff...whatever. Then she went on to say that she hoped Ville was sober now and not drunk on stage, blah, blah, blah.....I am amazed at how ignorant people are.  And I hope she enjoyed getting her ass kicked when HIM played that night. LOL.  Okay, rant done.

Nice pics!!  Synnin signed...very nice!

Speaking of Volbeat being repeatative...I saw them the first time with Megadeth and Motorhead.  He was talking about something and the band broke out into about 5 seconds of "Ace of Spades" which made sense at the time, as Motorhead had cancelled at the last minute.

About a year later, they play the same 5 seconds of "Ace of Spades", which was either before or after a Johnny Cash cover...

Hmm, and guess what?? They broke out into a snippet of Ace of Spades at the Greensboro show too!  The night before in Atlanta they played a snippet of Iron Maiden's Run to the Hills.  I mean, the guy has a set of pipes on him and they did not sound bad at all- it's just not my thing and the repetitive stuff is such a turn off.  It's almost like bad choreography.  :o

Yesterday was the concert in Hamburg and guess what ? It's still the same setlist as before the summer Festivals like in April when they made the release gigs. Even less. WLADE was the encore. So 15 Songs and 1 encore.

I'm still happy to see them again on Friday and Saturday but still they could have changed at least some parts of the setlist. But I guess it's because they had no time to rehearse again to put out some goodies for us.

well i have to admit that my 2 tickets + all the traveling to the Prague was terrible waste of money....
no offense but they suck...
honestly, they are young, they have 8 albums + a lot of great songs like And Love Said No ,..... , their concert duration is only around 70 to 75 minutes......
for example Paul McCartney who is twice that old as they are,he is on the stage 2 hours and 30 minutes or more, he plays 40 songs with multiple encores - from all the stuff like his solo, Wings songs, Beatles songs and he changes his setlist every show

our beloved darlings from Helsinki they are playing only singles, mostly Love Metal songs + pointless solo Jams in TWO songs from the setlist - The Kiss Of Dawn and WIcked Game - these 2 songs with this fucking jam are like 15 minutes together in total ...... if they skipped that boring pointless jam in both of the songs, it would be awesome and they could add some better songs to their setlist
i guess they are lazy to practice new songs or old songs so they are playing only the most played ones....

what should we do? nothing... fuck us, right?

dont get me wrong, i love them, but their 2013 tour in general is boring like hell.......
no passion, no coolness, no changes , nothing, even it looks like Ville packed only 2 T-shirts to the entire tour :D it looks like replaying one show over and over in the different venue, city or country

Unfortunately I have to agree for that matter.

I'm really a little bit disappointed. I mean 16 songs in total for a headlining tour is too less apart from the setlist matter. I mean even on the Venus Doom Tour they played over 20 songs including Under the Rose, Razorblade Kiss, The Sacrament, Dead Lovers Lane, Bleed Well, Sleepwalking Past Hope. I mean that was something at least a step in the right direction. But since than the setlist got smaller and smaller and smaller.

I mean for all honesty how can they play even less than on a release gig in April ? I also wonder that it is not getting boring for them to play the same setlist over and over again since April.

Well what can we do ? Nothing, you're right. Unfortunately we can't do anything.

I agree with you I'm going to 2 of the UK shows and now it seems like that will be the same setlist as the shows in April and the whole summer, also in interviews Ville has stated that they only get 70 minutes for the festivals so they can only play 15 songs, but they are dong that on their headline tour too. I would just like to hear some non-singles or some different tears on tape songs, I will be the end of you was good at Helldone and Strange world but they've been dropped.

yeah i remember Ville told they have only 70 minutes so they had to reduce the setlist, but who forced them to add 2 long solo Jams into the Kiss of dawn + into the Wicked game?  2 regular songs killed because of solo jams ................ if thease solo jams were at least that excellent like jams of RHCP with John Frusciante i would keep my mouth shut ,but this is pointless, seriously
and now when they have a regular tour (even with the boring support band ....) they only added When Love And Death Embrace which i love but on the gig its a little bit boring, i think the encore song should be some kind of energic one like Rebel Yell or something that everyone will enjoy the most, not that slow melancholic WLADE which would fit more into the middle of the setlist - my opinion

and yes - I will be the end of you was pretty great live, really! a song to sing along and jump, dance whatever, better than pointless 5 minutes long Jam just to kill the time - TWICE a setlist .......

at least Prague is one of the most beautiful cities i have ever been to, so i am looking forward to see Prague again, HIM is just like - "ok i paid for the tickets so need to go there" - no big deal

Strange World was a good opener too and that was dropped a little quickly I mean they only play that and IWBTEOY 5 times live, If i remember correctly they played Rebel Yell on the 28th at Helldone but only as an extra song but that 1st gig was the worst HIM show I've been to.

The jams aren't pointless, Ville needs to piss and smoke.
I saw them in Phoenix last month, it was a big festival so they only did a 35 minute set and he still took a break.
I hate those 2 t-shirts also but Linde has worn the same outfit at every show this year.
They get away with it because we buy whatever they're selling.

HIM set lists always seem to feel like they are trying to cater to new fans by playing all the singles and "popular" songs. Obviously, more fans more money blah blah, but I wish they would start playing sets for the real fans that have seen them 1 or 2 handfuls so we can hear something new and different

Wait, weren't they having this magical contest to change the setlist on the European tour?

If we're being honest here, I have to admit that the crowd at the show in September was MUCH smaller than I expected, and way smaller than I had experienced before when they were headliners.

Now then, it was a Thursday night, but I think the other shows I went to in the past were also on a Thursday night and the place was packed!

I was used to being shoulder to shoulder with people, but this time I had enough room to (literally) run around and instigate a drunk Volbeat fan.  I loved the show, but it'd been almost 3 years since I saw them.

My dream is to go to a destination concert in Europe.  I just don't want to fly across an ocean to hear Wicked Game for the millionth time...

and there is no need for the HIM concert when there is Oktoberfest

or if you wanna see HIM in Europe ,then Helldone - it seems like they have always some kinda longer setlist in here

That is at least something.
I also heard that the concert in Berlin was longer than in Hamburg.

Let's start praying for Leipzig and Prag. I mean i have two chances in a row to hear some stuff that haven't heard live before.

Grr aren't they aloud to play more than 16 songs ? I don't think so :D

It wouldn't be too hard for them to keep Hearts At War and add I.W.B.T.E.O.Y and add other songs too to make it at least a set with 20 songs.  >:(

As a headliner, you'd figure they can do as they please.  I wouldn't want to see them for 2 1/2 - 3 hours, like Springsteen, but at least an hour and 30?  That's not too much to ask.

And yes, they have more than enough of a catalogue to change the set up from night to night.  Keep a few staples, throw in an obscure one from time to time.

Though would we also complain if they dropped something like "Your Sweet Six Six Six" or "Right Here in My Arms"?  It'd almost be like Radiohead refusing to play "Creep" because they're too cool to play it now.

It's like Metallica...you know they are going to play Enter Sandman at some point, but they throw in something obscure along the way.
