I'm hoping for some more north east dates. I heard talk from someone that they're trying for New Jersey, tweeter center in Camden I'm thinking but we'll see.

Jay, tickets are available for the Houston show... Should I get a ticket for the balcony or the standing area?

I'm definitely going with the standing area.  It's a small venue, and is pretty nice.  Plus I don't feel like spending the extra money :)

I'm gonna be bummed if they don't do their own tour after this Rock of Allegiance thing. I'm only going to the Atlanta show.... but now seeing all these new dates it makes me want to travel - but seriously, it's not even going to be worth it for them to play what, an hour? Guess I'll have to live through the reviews that everyone else posts.  ;D

Set list from yesterday their set lists are kind of disappointing only playing 4 out of the 9 proper songs on the new album and not including love without tears  :'(

they actually played Buried Alive By Love too as a second song
and yes their setlist is kinda boring ,the same song over and over, the same setlist
and i remember back in 2009 before screamworks tour Valo said they can play 33 songs at the moment and he promised they will play Love In Cold Blood..... just words  ;D

Lots of stuff being posted on You Tube  of the show last night. Any thoughts? I will say that I'm never disappointed with how they sound. In consideration of his recent illness, I was happy to hear them play and glad that Ville seems to be better and can sing, etc.  Was such a bummer having to miss the shows here in the States.  :(

The band really needs to change up their setlist in the worst way. If you're seeing the band for the first time it might not be so bad, but it's been the same songs for years now. They definitely need to mix it up more. They could at least have a few songs in rotation that they change every night so the setlist isn't the exact same for every show.

more than half of their setlist should be retired and replaced by refreshing new-old songs like Pretending, Please Dont Let It Go, Bury Me Deep Inside Your Heart, This Fortress of tears, And Love Said No, Shatter Me With Hope, Vampire Heart, Love Without Tears, I Will Be The End of You, Drawn & Quartered ......

wicked game, babl, soul on fire, your sweet 666, join me, funeral of hearts, rhima, wings of a butterfly, kiss of dawn - all these are overplayed, they are perfoming these for ages over and over again on every gig, i am surprised they still enjoy playing these songs for 199089-time again.....

and they have a new album and they are playing only 4 songs from it? well i was expecting at least 7 out of these 9 on ToT ..... but ok we had I will be the end of you on Helldone and Turku in 2012

i understand they are playing hits and well-known singles but it is boring without any changes in the setlist, isnt it?

I don't understand why they don't change it up more.  I don't want it to be a Radiohead situation, where they only play obscure songs, but really...I'm sick of YS666 and Wicked Game.  RHIMA and Join Me are understandable staples.

If they don't change up the set list, at least change up the arrangements.  I loved the jams they would do for Join Me (2000ish), and Poison Girl (2005ish).  I can basically see the setlist now, pull up a bootleg and not much would be different.

I'm seeing them in September, and with them being a co-headliner for a harder rock show, I'm not expecting any change.  As much as I would love to hear Pretending, or Gone With the Sin, they aren't going to take a risk.

I would love it if it was a Pearl Jam (who I am not a fan of) situation where each night was varied by a few songs, mixed in with staples.

Pearl Jam actually plays long sets too.

That too...you can basically predict a HIM set to be about an hour or so.

I meant to add that HIM got booed off the stage when they supported Metallica (it was a shitty slot placement too).  And as much as I used to love Metallica and despise them now for their recent "efforts", Metallica knows how to put on a live show.  Yes, Metallica has more money for production, but HIM is rather, sorry to say, boring.  Linde and Mige seem to be into playing the music, Gas is always working it, Burton is there, and Ville is crooning over the mic.  I don't think adding pyro to their show would be fitting, but they could spruce it up.

It means probably the same set-list will be at Maxidrom. I would love to hear other songs too, but in any case I'm so glad that finally they're coming to Russia after many years. I'll be happy to hear whatever they are willing to play..

The band has definitely started catering to the casuals more and more over the recent years, which is smart because they know us hardcore fans will still support them no matter what they do. Whether it's buying tickets to see the same songs performed live we've already seen and heard a thousand times, or buying a CD full of the same songs we've already paid for several times in the past, they do more things for the casual fans than the hardcore ones, but we still eat it up and throw our money at them, so they'll just continue to do it. Why change the setlist and have to practice new songs and make different arrangements when we'll all still go to see them no matter how much we complain? Why release a compilation of rarities that the casual fans would probably pass on when they can put a bunch of old songs on a CD and we still buy it regardless?
