VENERE VERITAS
For we've to mourn
For we've to mourn, have no fear
There are wounds that are not meant to heal
And they sing, in Venere Veritas
Come and sigh, let the bother you alive
And sing baby, sing in Venere Veritas

DYING SONG
To hold on to whatever is left of you and I

Shedding skin to a dying song
We hold on to the song
Until we are no more
Little deaths to a dying song
Sound a lot like, life...

DISARM ME WITH YOU LONELINESS
Tell you how much hurts and ?sell?

Disarm me with your loneliness
Just like always before
And deceive me out of my emptiness
Telling me how you run

You keep on bending...

KATHERINE WHEEL
life, what are you waiting for?

Oh, let me hold you baby
These are the things you make me do
Katherine wheel, I'm burning for you
please don't stop until my heart no longer screams
Katherine wheel, cause i...

IN THE ARMS OF RAIN
Crawl on serpentine towards the sun to you

Lift the lid off your hearts casket in the arms of rain
We'll drift along this river of sadness until we feel no pain
Baby, stop!
Hail mary's for the secrets you kept from me
Hail mary's for tomorrows dream
In the arms of rain we are free...

ODE TO SOLITUDE
..Bridge makes you smile less

Here's to the pain
The light of the oncoming train, come along
Ode to solitude in chains
Here's to the pain
As always heaven in flames, now bleeding
Ode to solitude in chains

ACOUSTIC FUNERAL (FOR LOVE IN LIMBO)
Dance in cruelty in the name beauty to be free

The acoustic funeral for love in limbo
Were dancing with tags(tacks?) on our toes
Deceive my last breath for you endo(and go)
So write(right) you been song
For the acoustic funeral...

THE FORBODING SENSE OF IMPENDING HAPPINESS
These thoughts and actions miles apart, reality
Come look at the stars
Smother a heart, opening up
Look at the stars
Smother a heart, opening up

-No one take the line "Lift the lid off your hearts casket in the arms of rain. We'll drift along this river of sadness until we feel no pain" I'm using it for a new forum signature.

The Foreboding Sense of Impending Happiness - it's a song? Where's the music then?

Haha, all I hear is the synth/bass line from Too Happy To Be Alive.  I'm thinking/hoping there is more to the full track.  :)

I've only listened to the samples twice.  No more till a full leak or the release date for me...I'm hoping that the full tracks will be more "beefy."

Those are the "live at Helldone" bonustracks, included only in internet release or something.
For my name is sorrow and I'm a friend of misery
I deprived myself of love for eternal agony
And I don't even dare to try - I know I can only lose
Between this life I live and nothing I have to choose

I think it sounds like a fusion of Too Happy To Be Alive and a Depeche Mode Song. Interesting combination. I can't wait for the final song. :)

It has, but a repost won't hurt anybody that hasn't seen it yet.

Those previews are very interesting - the album is softer than I was anticipating, but I have no problem with that. I'm looking forward to that leak anytime now  >:(

Here are my thoughts since everyone else seems to be doing it:

In Venere Veritas
- I really like it. It has a good mixture of high and low notes from ville and the music flows well.

Scared to Death
- Still a great song and I love the little acoustic guitar riff, I hope it has more. For me it adds a sense of depth that past songs didn't have, not that it's a bad thing... It's something new, refreshing, and sounds great.

Heartkiller
- Probably their most poppy song, but it still has the HIM feel to it. I see nothing wrong with it personally. Ville himself said they weren't afraid to blatantly be poppy on some of their songs.

Dying Song
- This song reminds me a lot of The 69 Eyes(Music) and To/Die/For(Vocals). Great combination of vocals and music.

Disarm Me
- Another one that Ville mentioned was one of their poppy songs. I still have hope for there being some kickass guitar riffs in there somewhere and even picking up some tempo... You'll be surprised.

Love the Hardest Way
- Still one of my favorites. The chorus makes me wanna dance and shit lol.

Katherine Wheel
- Great lyrics combined with a beautiful mixture of sounds. I think a lot of you will be surprised what the rest sounds like ;)

In The Arms of Rain
- I've been waiting for lyrics like these to come back for a while now and am extremely excited for this song. It has a sense of darkness, happiness, and hope. Chrous reminds me of a not so gloomy version of Zeraphine's "Be my Rain".

Ode To Solitude
- A very hopeful and uplifting song in my opinion, I like it quite a bit and like some other songs I really think you guys will like it better when you hear the full version.

Shatter Me With Hope
- What can I say other than pure awesomeness?

Acoustic Funeral
- Very refreshing and relaxing, another one that I am eagerly waiting to hear because it's one of Ville's favorites on the album.

Like St. Valentine
- Very rockish with a little taste of pop, it's great.

The Foreboding Sense of Impending Happiness
- Depeche mode music... very interesting. This is another one that I think will make our jaws drop once we get a taste of the full song.

VD lacked lyrics, DL was almost there, but this makes up for it all in my opinion. I may even go as far as to say this album looks to be the next Love Metal album when it comes to playability.

Really? After hearing the clips I wasn't blown away. I was surprised in that Scared to Death sounded really good, which is weird considering I hated the live version. Of course these are 30 sec clips so Ill just wait until the album leak, hopefully soon :).

I forgot to mention that if all else fails TFSOIH seems to be the greatest HIM song ever just from those 30 secs. I wish HIM made an entire album in this vain.

30 seconds are not enough 4 me. Remember how most of us complained about Heartkiller when the sample was released. It's too soon to judge an entire album after hearing some choruses. I definitely can say that Like St. Valentine and Shatter Me With Hope are great songs, way better than Heartkiller.

That is what I'm thinking about the previews:

- In Venere Veritas: First I didn't like it. But now I love Ville's voice in this song.

-Scared To Death: I love it! It's much better than the live version from helldone and I love the short acoustic guitar play.

-Heartkiller: The single. Of course, it's very poppy but I think that isn't bad. The song is fast and rocking. Not their best song, but not their worst, too.

-Dying Song: I had to hear this song several times to like it. But then you hear the definitely great vocals. I'm excited for the full song.

-Disarm Me: An old one, Ville wrote it 2002. But it's modern and (a little bit to much) poppy.

-Love, The Hardest Way: One of the best songs of Screamworks! It sounds like Right Here In My Arms (one of my favourites of HIM) and it has a great intro!

-Katherine Wheel: In my opinion the worst track of Screamworks. I don't like it. This isn't HIM, I think.

-In The Arms Of Rain: Something new, something bad. I don't like this song. It's too boring in my eyes.

-Ode To Solitude: Great effects! I'm sure that the full track will be awesome.

-Shatter Me With Hope: Awesome! I really love this song! One of the greatest HIM songs ever.

-Acoustic Funeral: Ville's favourite, but not mine. It's a good ballad, not more, not less.

-Like St. Valentine: Valentine's Day is something special for me this year. And this song is the perfect present for it! My favourite of Screamworks! Very rockish and a bit poppy. Really awesome!

-The Foreboding Sense Of Impending Happiness: A big secret. A fusion of Depeche Mode and Too Happy To Be Alive. It can be great but I wait for the full song before I say something about this track.

In the end, I think Screamworks will be a great album. Not HIM's best, of course. But after Greatest Lovesongs and Razorblade Romance one of the best. :)

(Sorry for my bad english..:) )

It's seems like everyone has very different opinions of Ode to Solitude. That seems to be the one people hate or love. It'll be interesting to hear the whole song. Personally, I think Linde's guitar playing seems very on point in this track, so I think I'll enjoy it.
