It lacks a lot for those dates, but I think they will

Terrible name for the album, but it's great to hear it's just a working title. The release date sounds pretty good, can't wait for it.

I hope they'll change the title. And the producer, as it looks like this guy never worked with really good band... Ok, I know they won't change producer, so I hope he will work with Hiili...

Indeed, that's a terrible title but I'm sure it's not gonna stay that way. Anyway, the music counts, not the title of the album...

Musical style

Matt Squire is known for producing power pop. He has a knack for discovering underground bands and helping them refine their sound. Squire works very closely with his bands. He is known as a hands-on producer who often makes lyrical and musical suggestions. He is known to write music on his own and present his ideas to the bands. He also co-writes with artists.

Although he is mostly known for his successes in the pop-punk scene, he has branched out and worked on other musical styles with artists like Katy Perry, 3OH!3, The Used, Taking Back Sunday, Aly and AJ, Emily Osment, The Cab, Monty Are I, Push Play, Skindred, and People in Planes.

[edit] Selected discography

this is def sire's doing that want him to be a big commercial success. they want big hits. please dont give me dark light 2 with even more watered down non guitar solos :(( i liked dl ) but need something diff

I'm looking on what this guy made before, and it just makes me think he will make HIM sound like sh*t... Somehow I think we will start begging for Palmer sooner than later...

wow
"Screamworks: Love in Theory and Practice"???
really?

the title wouldnt be all that bad without the Screamworks...
if it was was just 'Love in Theory and Practice'
that would sound like a second coming of Deep Shadows
which would be awesome

yea i really hope this Matt Squire guy is because the guys want him and not just Sire pushing him upon them
why dont they just have Hilli do all the producing???

I'm almost sure they will at least push it back a few days because Valentine's Day is on a Sunday next year.

I'm sure it's only thanks to Sire.
I think band should f*ck out of there ASAP... Anyone knows how many CDs they have yet to record before this Warner deal expires?
I have strange feeling that new album will be DSBH all over again. I mean - listen to the first versions of Please Don't Let It Go and Beautiful and then to album ones - it's like listening to totally different song... Worse...

Album ones.
Of course I know lots of people like this album. But for me, as I like heavy music, album ver. of Beautiful or Please Don't... is much worse than their Rock Versions, which I believe were the first. There are some songs on DSABH that sound good as they are. Love You Like I Do is amazing, Pretending is good, and so is Lose You Tonight. But for example Salt In Our Wounds or Heartache sound like they're lacking something (like a good, louder guitar ;) ). For me, one of the best songs is Again, and I can't understand why it's just a bonus track.
While listening to Again (Hollovlad Tepes), Beautiful (Rock Version) and PDLIG (Punk ver.), I think the band wanted this album to sound a bit punkish, and label made them totally change it...

I found an interview transcript on euro-rockradio.com and Ville mentioned that the new album would have more of an 80's kind of vibe. That sounds pretty exciting to me. Any way, I can't wait to hear what the new album is gonna sound like :)
