join me was my first HIM song.  If i was a parent who didn't know about it, i would probably think it was bad for kids too

well im not sure how i feel about this one i mean to teenagers and people who are older and listen to the band of course their  going to enjoy the song and like the lyrics but to young kids being in the 6th grade and not being familiar with the songs of the band of course parents are going to be outraged and i can understand that but i think firing the teacher that ridiculous

This really confuses me. And annoys me! When I think back on all that we learnt and all that we were taught I begin to wonder...what's wrong with this song?

I mean, Ville said numerous times that this song is about/inspired by Romeo and Juliet and he was inspired by Don't Fear The Reaper (yet another song relating to R&J). I know that R&J is required reading here in Australia which means that for 5 weeks we study the tale of two teenagers that took their lives because of love. HIM have a four minute song about the story that WE HAVE TO READ anyway.

It really doesn't make sense to me that the parents weren't in uproar that their precious children are reading Shakespeare?s tragedies that are flooded with death, despair, murder and everything negative. It's all a bit ridiculous and seems like just another one of their excuses to hate a band with "metal" as one of their genre labels
