Rumours are swirling that H.I.M are set to do the theme song for the next James Bond film.

The composers David Arnold and Don Black were allegedly impressed by the band's track 'Wings Of A Butterfly'.

The duo allegedly got chatting to the frontman Ville Valo at the BMI Awards.

A source told The Daily Star: "David Arnold and Don Black were in deep conversation with Ville on the night.

"They love the song that won him an award. They think he has just the right ear to write a classic Bond hit with them."

Remember that this is just a rumor a this point, right before a Bond film there are tons of people mentioned to do the theme.

But I think that if it is true and they ended up doing it they could do a great job with it.

I thought Chris Cornell did a great job with Casino Royale, and I hope HIM can do the same.

I'm actually interested in hearing this, I love the Bond films.

I thought The Killers were already confirmed to do the theme for the next Bond film.

Interesting. I've never really been crazy about any of the Bond movie songs, but I look forward to hearing what they come up with if it actually happens. Does anyone know when the next movie is supposed to be out?

Next movie is out November 7, 2008.

My first reaction is no. But on the other side, maybe they get a new group of fans, older fans, not under 14. And I guess that is what Ville wants. Paying all the young girls every gig again to scream... That costs a lot of money.

EDIT:

Love + Death + 616 + dark/night + a new poet/writer + great guitar riff + slowly a Bond theme in HIM style on keyboards = Bond 2008 theme

I guess it going to be like "killing for love, my darkest 616 side, like [insert poem] did, to be with you forever in the night, we will disappear in the dark to be not found again"

And don't forget the 7 hidden Heartagrams in the movie and a appearance of the whole band in the casino, in Wicked Game style.

but... Ville isn't just anyone, if this works out, the song will be so different from any other bond-theme, that ppl might think otherwise:)

I heard that it was just Ville Valo doing the song ....and he beat out the drug singing Amy Winehouse. I think its great.

I'm drunk right now...but Valo is the coolest guy on the planet...and he will do a song just perfect for bond movie. I hope the whole band will do it...in HIM-style...and I think it won't have anything to do with a new album so...it's a unique and just beautiful thing...!

This is just a rumor and probably isn't going to happen. Last year all the news sites and entertainment magazines were buzzing that The Killers were asked to record the next Bond theme.

Yea chances are very slim but I think Ville's deep voice would be perfect but again, rumor so most likely not happening.....
