I love all of the songs on the new album, it's amazing. Cyanide sun is definately one of my top fav. songs on it, as well as sleepwalking past hope, dead lovers lane and love in cold blood

Good to see that the album isnt a flop,
if this doesnt go platinum I'd be totally shocked!!!

Get ready to be shocked. It'll go gold for sure, but platinum? Not in the U.S. HIM is still a niche band. Unless Kiss of Dawn becomes a breakout hit I don't see this happening.
Come love me 'till it hurts, dance the neon noir with me.

I love the entire song but that outro breaks my heart.

We will weep
We will bleed...

I like this song (HIM"s never made a bad song), but it's my least fav on the album.

I don't think this album with do as well as Dark Light because it's more experimental and a bit less mainstream.

Not as experimental?
are you joking, dark light is the most experimental album HIM have done.
all the rest are in the same circle, but dark light was outside of the circle,
thats why everyone thinks dark light sucked, cause its not what your use to listening to,or recieving from HIM.

I also think the most experimental album is Venus Doom...it's quite a bit different. Dark Light was just produced in a different way. I also don't think it sucked...I guess opinions differ from people to people in that point!  ::)

I think that VD is the most experimental album so far....Dark Light, in my opinion, was just too plain compared to the other albums (there are no proper highlights, even the singles are weak in comparison with the usual HIM stuff), and that's why almost no one liked it.

I totally agree with the fact that Dark Light had the weakest singles. but i don't agree with you saying Venus Doom is the most experimental, on this album they're basically going back to their roots, distorted guitars and great keyboards. This album is on the same page as Love Metal, throughout this new album you can hear clear black sabbath influences, look at Sleepwalking Past Hope.
But I appreciate your opinions, I could be completely wrong. :-\

dan666 I totally agree with you.... good point about a mix of the two albums.
But I found tons of old school stuff in there.

I don't think HIM has ever truly experimented with their sound. They've always retained their signature style from album to album. They've just made a progression into mainstream production as most successful bands do. HIM has been writing poppy ballads since as far back as Razorblade Romance. They've just lost that raw edge they use to have with their recent post production methods.

Venus Doom is still the same ol' HIM, despite the underlying doom elements they've implemented. It can still be compared to everything else they've done.

Venus Doom is totally kick ass, I love it.

Cyanide Sun never really caught my attenition at first but it is growing on me, My favourates so far are LICB because it is so catchy, SWPH because it is just epic and Song or Suicide even though it is really short it just seems to calm everything down a little.

Cyanide Sun is very beautiful song, I love it very much. I think it's best song with Sleepwalking Past Hope from Venus Doom.

Cyanide Sun kinda reminds me of The Path mixed with Sweet Pandemonium.  It just sounds so sick and the lyrics are incredible.

Scream me a dream untouched by shadow...
