Fear for the what?
« on: August 07, 2007, 08:42:44 AM »
Sorry if this doesn't deserve its own topic, i realized ive been a member forever but never really post, so that'll change, but ill post just a clip cuz..well just cuz.. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4G5P2OJV but all the old original bmmb members should remember this, i wonder if anyone got official word where this was from or what it was meant for, cuz in 04 HIM's first US tour first thing i asked ville was listen, and i played it on my nokia n gage, he kinda giggled and smiled and said just another treasure lost or something along those lines haha soo anyone know for sure?

You're talking about "Too Happy To Be Alive". It was a demo for the then titled "Slippery When Dead" album. This was before Gas joined the band and they did not have a drummer to record with. A drum machine was used for the demos. Eventually the album was recorded as we know it today and went on to be called "Razorblade Romance" and the song was reworked.

Just listen to it, not hard to tell.

I love Ville's reaction. "Just a lost treasure..." He's like some kind of cryptic Dumbledore figure nowadays.

There is official confirmation in the new HIM book by Reinhart Hadyn. He says that the band recorded a few demos for the album using a drum machine. While no song titles are listed it's pretty much a no-brainer that THTBA is one of them.

It's worth buying, if just for the pictures. There isn't too much information that a hardcore fan wouldn't know, but it's still a nice book.

i remember the day i stumbled across it on limewire. it took forever to DL cause like 1 person was hosting it. and while it was DLing i googled it to see if it was  really a HIM song or just one of those songs the person didnt know who sung it and decided to titled it w.e. they wanted

gas came an album before burton, but i guess that must of been recorded somewere between the fall of 1998 and spring of 1999. I think it'd be a kool idea for someone to get all these old songs and shit, and make ville talk about for the next dvd, like 'A trip down memory lane' - The HIM story.
