Kiss Of Dawn is the first single!!!

H.I.M. frontman Ville Valo told Spinner.com that the band's upcoming album, "Venus Doom", is a darker and heavier effort than its previous CD, 2005's "Dark Light". Valo explained, "There's...a lot of SABBATH and old-school METALLICA (in there). I wanted the album to be more aggressive, heavier and more out there."

The new direction also allowed Valo to switch up vocally. "I wanted to sing lower — use my baritone a lot more," he said. "When all those influences come together, it's like, 'I wanna do that [Mark] Lanegan, Leonard Cohen-y type of vibe.'"

Valo added that the disc's tentative first single, "Kiss of Dawn", was inspired by the suicide of one of his best friends. Valo said, "The whole song is a tribute to him. It's also a love song. I love that dude. He was a great friend of mine. We hung out and had great f***ing conversations. It's a celebration of life, rather than death."

It says tentative, although there definitely are signs that point to it being the first.

Well since there is this Topic out now.

Expect to hear the single soon.

There have been close people who told me they have heard the album, they have mixed emotions. Some like it because it is "heavy" and some like it because of the mix of Pop and Non-Radio friendly style it defines something a bit more loose yet still confides the HIM Pop crap they have released.

I spoke to someone to get me the Promo, since I just heard it was out couple of days ago. Since I love this band so much, expect it on ebay too. hahaha.
It usually isn't that hard to get their stuff now since they made it easier for US Magazines to talk about them.

Just something i dont understand....how do ppl hear the full cd yet its still not on the internet? Im not trying to be picky or anything but I was just wondering haha. And I hope Kiss of Dawn is heavier then ever...Passions Killing Floor isn't even that heavy. I remember in an interview with Valo he said "Dark light is going to be heavier then ever!" ....yet it wasn't ! So i hope he follows through with this one!

Good chances of getting at least a few songs. I mean think about it... it will either leak all at once, or little by little. Maybe none at all. PKF only leaked so quickly cos of Transformers.

Since -Kiss of Dawn- will be the first single... it may be leaking any day/minute now. And it I am guessing it might have a good live version of Dead Lovers Lane on it.

i would imagine though passion's killing floor would be the first single since its already out and released and what not

but it was only released cuz of transformeres....they never said "HEY, this is the new HIM single PKF hope you enjoy it!" It's just in a movie so it would make sense for another song to be the single. Do I make and sense???

i really think it sounds like a cool song at least on the verse. like the guitars and the little bass part to mige, but what the hell happend on the chourse

Sounds like the worst crappy pop verse. that kind of ruined the rest of the song.
But that is the best i`ve heard from Venus Doom so far
