In terms of heaviness you also have to consider it's an internet rip of the song so im sure cd quality it'll sound better and (hopefully) a little bit heavier sounding.

Still, pretty good song

yeah its a little heavier its a good song

haha. I love when the crowd goes to sing this song they only know "My hearts a graveyard baby..." "On our passion's killing floor" then they sorta stop? I guess its better then not knowing any of the words i guess.

To this pair of ears, Passion's Killing Floor is the best HIM track since the brightest moments of Love Metal. It's quite funny though, as this is clearly not a "single" song, as it has no major sing-along chorus. It sounds like an album filler to me, albeit an extremely good one. Sets my expectations pretty high about Venus Doom. Let's see what happens.

One more thing: the Transformers OST version of the song sounds much better than the songs on Dark Light. And I mean production here. I don't know about you guys, but to me Dark Light always sounded kind of muddy, like it was poorly mixed or something.

Dark Light always sounded kind of muddy, like it was poorly mixed or something.

too high tech for not enough versatile effects which L.A. & N.Y. studios had.
pity, it is their worse when it comes to production too.

A gift ....

They just added the song to their Myspace page, but like the rest of the songs, they're just fucking 30 second clips.  That's just beyond lame. >:(

I see a bulletin posted by HIM and get excited thinking it's Kiss of Dawn. I open the bulletin and see that it's just Passion's Killing Floor. At least I can add it to my page, I think to myself. Go to the HIM page and it's a 30 second clip. Fuckers...

Yeah, I've seen it on other pages but it would be nice for the official page to offer up more then a 30 second clip. It's not like having the song on there is gonna hurt record sales. I'd prefer to have the song on my page link to the official HIM page, not some fan page.

I think the song could sound heavier if there wasn't that keyboard sound @ the chorus. I still like it, anyway.

To Prove that Ville is sometimes not sure what he creates ....
Well I don't want to say that.
More like, out of his place when being Interviewed about his work when asked what is the purpose of it.

Not to mention that he nearly stole some music from a fellow Finnish band as their opening track is just hilarious.

Ville straight up admits it, on how many bands they rip off. lol

But HIM is the only band I know that is good at it.

He mentions Elvis Presley's "Can't HELP Falling In Love." When I heard that, a lightbulb in my head clicked and I thought "Oh my lord, Venus Doom's chorus sounds quite similar to Elvis' song." Just like how Vampire Heart had the John Carpenter's Halloween keyboard intro.

EDIT - Haha, sorry, "Can't Stop Fallin' in Love" is a pop song from the Dance Dance revolution series. I meant "Can't Help Falling In Love."

i thought i was hearing things!  but ville said its one of his fave songs- or makes him cry. i recognized because one of my sisters is a huge elvis fan, and she played that song nonstop when i was a kid.

I think it's an absolutely something new in sound of HIM, but as always they've done it great!
I believe there would be dubious opinions, but thats just prove the quality of the music and talent of it's creators!

It's def. something new and no one should blame them for trying something new. For me, I like it, dont love it cuz im more into the heavier sorta sound but its great! If HIM went all heavy they wouldnt be good becaus Ville has a soft voice
