wow, a lot of ppl have been saying that the song sounds like DL, but i just don't hear it, it sounds more like LM or RR, to me, actually the guitar riff reminds me a lot of Sweet Pandemonium or I Love You, not the melody but the style  ::)

well is it just me or the main riff is similar to the one of Wings of a Butterfly??

OMG! not at all! listen to both riffs one right after the other, you'll see the HUGE difference!
actually PKF riff sounds more like some other thing but i can't quite figure out what, i'm sure it's something live  ???

does anyone else feel like the lyrics have dropped off in the past two albums?

i dont know, it just seems like he's trying too hard to use big words and dark terminology, whatever happened to the simpler days . . .
______________________________________________________________

on a different note, i'm not all that impressed with the song -  it sounds like DL, just with the guitar turned up and a "breakdown" thrown in the middle . . . (and i use the term "breakdown" loosely)

hahah i just replied to your post on the other forum. Ville has always used dark words. I don't really understand where your getting the big words from. Kinda simple if you ask me. It's just a simple rock song, that i enjoy very much!

The intro is just like a remix of WOAB-intro.

This song is more DL then GLV666

Ville's vocab has expanded. Perhaps he wants to create more complicated and in-depth illusions with his words rather than make everything completely straight forward. Or perhaps he's holding a thesaurus right next to him as he writes  ;) I think it's for the better that he changes things up a bit; I don't want to hear the exact same thing over on every album.

The lyrics seem the same style as they've always been to me.

Yes, I thought the same as you did.

I don't know if anyone has posted these yet but it's the lyrics to Passion's Killing Floor. Let's just say I love HIM and have way too much time on my hands that I listened to the song over and over until I got the lyrics perfect.

Passion’s Killing Floor

It's poetry carved in flesh
It's beautiful hell with us
To the deadly sin we confess
Tears of joy fill our eyes

We are saved with this biggoties
By our prophecies of doom

My hearts a graveyard baby
And to evil we make love
On our passion's killing floor
In my arms you won’t sleep safely
And of lust we are re-born
On our passion's killing floor

At the first kiss the seeds
Of hatred are sown
Back into the darkness we flee
To tear our hearts out

We are saved where all fates fail
That lied inside of our tomb

My hearts a graveyard baby
And to evil we make love
On our passion's killing floor
In my arms you won’t sleep safely
And of lust we are re-born
On our passion's killing floor

My hearts a graveyard baby
And to evil we make love
On our passion's killing floor
In my arms you won’t sleep safely
And of lust we are re-born
On our passion's killing floor

My hearts a graveyard baby
On our passion’s killing floor
And to evil we make love
On our passion’s killing floor

looking at the lyrics now, i guess there aren't that many big words....

still, i just feel that it doesnt flow as well as some of his older lyrics, ville's old writings would create a story that weaved through the whole song, now it just seems like each line is its own senseless "trying to sound goth" rambling . . .

So he never allowed to try a new writing style?
I think his lyirc writing has gotten better with each almub. It's more poetic and less cheesy. (yes you have to addmit the earlier stuff was a bit cheesy still love it though!) So I guess it's a matter of opion. To me it's beauitful and dark and exactly like HIM is. (to me)
And I think the mixing is much better on it. I can hear guitar!!! WOW! Linde didn't die! (Sorry, I hated the poppy mixing on DL)

The intervals are similar to WOAB but thats it
Close my eyes, Hold me tight, And bury me deep inside your heart

Passion’s Killing Floor

It's poetry carved in flesh
This beautiful hell with us
To the deadly sin we confess
Tears of joy fill our eyes

We are when this fears...
...prophecies of doom

We are (safe/saved?) where all fates fail
The light inside of our tomb
Fixed some things that didn't make sense gramatically.

I got these lyrics straight from Ville, so I know they're right:

We all live in a yellow submarine
A yellow submarine
A yellow submarine
We all live in a yellow submarine
A yellow submarine

Alright. Enough of that.

It's poetry carved in flesh
This beautiful Hell of ours
To the deadliest sin we confess
(And tears of joy fill our eyes)

We are safe where this fear takes
My out-there prophocies of doom

My heart's a graveyard, baby
And to evil we make love
On our passion's killing floor

In my arms, you won't sleep safely
And of lust we are reborn
On our passion's killing floor

At first kiss, the seeds of hatred are sown
And back into darkness we flee
(To tear our hearts out)

We are safe where all fates fail
The lively side of our tomb

[CHORUS]

(Pulses unchecked
Everyone already is dead
All we know has been crucifered)

[CHORUS x2]

Forever more
(That's right)

i agree completly, i was slightly dissapointed with the song as it sounded alot liek dark light, but it grows on me the more i listen to it!
i was expecting something ALOT heavier, it would be amazing if they brought out something like GLSV666

with the lyrics i kinda agree to, the "my hearts a graveyard baby" bit its abit :/ but i guess it fits the song but it's not somethign i'd say that they'd usuualy write

Caleb called the HIM Hotline, where Ville gives you a special URL for the lyrics.

Just .99 for the first minute, $3.99 each additional minute.

I hope to hear Gas rub Mayonaise over all that fragile body of his.
Those few pesos that I have are pretty much worth every cent-avo.
:P

No, the opening Riff has the Lose You Tonight opening Riff.

Just by ear (I know this is going to be wrong), but I hear Bmb to Cmaj13. I don't have a guitar with me nor have I heard the full song, this is just the first minute and a half of what I heard.

Not really expecting anything great out of t his band, so far they have accomplished that much.

We are saved with this biggoties

LOL... I'm sorry I don't mean to laugh - but what the hell is "biggoties"?
 ::)

Other people tried the lyrics a few pages back too.
I think that is the same as fanatics.

This is NOT going to be first single from Venus Doom(Passion's Killing Floor),it's confirmed by HIM's promoter here in Finland..I've heard some rumours it could be the song called "Kiss Of Dawn".

Just when I finally get my good pair of headphones out of my truck (was lazy before) and I figure out the lyrics that I wasn't sure of, I see this post. I believe it is all correct, had it written down and he has exactly what i do EXCEPT for the very end... he clearly doesn't say "That's right" He says "It's the mourning that kills" turn your speakers up and you'll hear it. AND the whisper part... "Pulses unchecked" works but "Everyone already is dead" doesn't fit, and since "Crucifered" isn't a word i doubt that's it either.

This is how I hear it...

Pulses unchecked
Everyone who erased
Who all you know has ???

Can't seem to figure out that last bit at all, and right before "Everyone who erased" I hear a "K" sound... can't make sense of that either.

Whoa. That's crazy. When you listen to it at a lower volume it's "that's right", but when you turn it up like you said, it says, it's: "it's the mourning that hurts". Also, there is a typo, since "is" in "everybody already is dead" should be "was". As far as crucifered goes, look it up on Wikipedia.

Turn your volume up and listen to it... the whisper part sounds nothing like what u claim it to be except for the first part maybe. yeah and that whole volume thing is spooky.
