And Love Said No U.S. release
« on: March 29, 2007, 11:30:17 AM »
http://www.amazon.com/Love-Said-No-Greatest-1997-2004/dp/B000OHZJNM/ref=sr_1_19/103-8196272-1554220?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1175181936&sr=8-19

According to both Amazon.com and Best Buy, Universal/Republic is releasing ALSN on May 8th in the U.S. It's odd because Sire had the rights to the songs ALSN and Solitary Man. I couldn't find any info on the U.S. release of Uneasy 2, although it's possible it will drop the same day as this.

I have seen imports of the Canadian version of ALSN at Best Buy, Boarders, FYE, and even Wal Mart in the US for a LONG time. An independent music store I used to have around here imported them as well.

I can't imagine why they would bother with a US version.

I found it kinda odd, usually they are around $30 at best buy. but i saw one the other day for like $12 i wanna say. It was the same price as the others. Kinda strange.

It's gonna be the same shit only with a Jimmy Franks label on the back.   You know collectors are gonna get it for the sake of just having another addition to their already monotonous collections.

i wouldn't be surprised if the old record company re-releases 666 ways to love some time in the future you know how much money they would make off of that ... they have alot of stuff like that at best buy they have alot of old eps from popular bands and stuff like that which is surprising.

Ideally that would be a great idea for the marketing and label.
Though it would be a Horrible- Atrocious bad idea for the real Fans who paid up to $1,ooo for an EP.
Like Currency when you have too much of something it will plummet sales and mostly it will go down in Value.
The idea or Real State can be somewhat similar to this, the demand is high but certain supplies are limited making it sky rocket.
Some would hate it, though some would show off their O.G.'s.

What would be best is if the Band/ Label released more Demo's/ Remixed/ Unreleased Tracks to support some Fans which do care about a certain age of the band when they were more creatively intact.

I found out at work today that Target will carry the U.S. ALSN, and the price is $10.99. We usually put new releases on sale, so don't be surprised to find it for as low as $7.99. So if for some reason you never picked up a copy, now's the time. It's actually one of the bigger rock releases that week, so we may actually promote it in our sales circular.

I saw copies of ALSN today at work. Yeah, big deal since it street dates tommorrow. Anyways, looks the same as the Euro versions with the clear logo sticker on the wrapper. It has additional text though, that says the cd is a "Digitally remastered anthology of HIM's first decade. Includes two previously unreleased tracks + exclusive Ville Valo poster". Was the original release of ALSN remastered?

Nope. No DVD. The track list is the exact same 16 track one as Europe. The only song missing is the UK exclusive 'It's All Tears'. Interestingly, Join Me is written as "Join Me In Death". No other version of ALSN names it with "In Death" Funny, since this is the same label that slapped a P.A. on the original release of Razorblade Romance!

I assume that the two "unreleased" tracks are "And Love Said No" and "Solitary Man" if the tracklist is the same. It's kinda stupid to call them unreleased when considering ALSN was in Best Buy and the lot soon after the European release.

Maybe they're saying they were never properly released.

The two tracks are ALSN and Solitary Man. They never had a proper American release, after all. The poster is the very same one, although the logo at the top has some red around it. I don't recall the digipak one having that. It's also extremely glossy. Like, almost slippery. Other than that the CD is identical to previous releases. It does have a slip inside advertising other HIM releases. Here's some pics for those interested parties...

Doubtful. All of the US releases since Deep Shadows have had big black bars across the bottom with the FBI warning.
