How could any H.I.M. fan even think of saying "H.I.M. is dead"?

How is H.I.M. dead?

first of all its HIM son but if that floats your boat its cool..

second of all you have to admit that HIM isnt the same they've become more americanized ( i still like them dont get me wrong)

I don't think they have changed, i just think their in the public eye more now. I mean at one point we only heard form the band every now and then. Nowadays they have a magazine interview/article every month! We are prying into their lives more now then ever!

the only reason u probably feel that they are "americanized" is because others are saying they are "americanized"

but they still are finnish, they still make their music to their liking

if you compare HIM to american bands there is no comparison

HIM is totally original and seperate from a lot of bands out there to date

the only thing that shows them straying from their traditions was the dark light album cover and the alternate video of killing loneliness

of course i don't think those were exactly their ideas themselves

more pushed on them by the record companies

there is no difference from the spellings either

HIM
H-I-M
H.I.M
His Infernal Majesty

who gives a shit

its whatever is your liking

and its not "officially" HIM

the way you spell it is how you like it

It can be whatever you want

I dont think they have been "americanized" they just got slapped with a big doze of "mainstream",haha. If you listen to all those CRAPPY american bands you can clearly hear that HIM is not anything like them even tho they decided to make crappy pop music in DL. But still i have som faith in them after all i`ve heard about the new record. Really looking forward to september ;D

warner brothers and tim palmer F**ked HIM right over. in my opinion, Dark light sounded like some crappy american idol style rubbish. i love HIM, love their first  four albums and have done for over 5 years but i think dark light is pure awful. lets hope Venus doom is better!

I expect there will be a similar thing to Dark Light, I think someone else mentioned that there will be a pack thing, like the alternative DL release.

Well supposedly the image from the Warped sticker is a portion of the actual album art for Venus Doom. The color was changed, as to not reveal too much about the artwork.

Right click/view for clearer image

Here are some mock up red/orange images I made.

Yeah, the background has a 'painted look'

From the Video thread:
I found this links with interview with Ville Valo, I think from studio.
http://www.yfly.com/show/518613

Around 2:30 what does he say? Some like
"It's been a ... How long was it? A song called Cyanide Sun I've been writing for five years"
Kinda interesting, that must be before LM.

i really have a feeling this album is going to suck even worse than DL. except maybe Cyanide Sun (because he's been writing that so long)

PKF is honestly the worst HIM song i've ever heard.

Meh. I am not gonna sit here and tell you that it is the best song of HIM. But I am not gonna agree with you either.
It's pretty bittersweet. Either take it or leave it.

H.I.M. Singer Talks About Heavier, Darker, New Album

posted Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at 09:36:56 PM by deathbringer. (thanks Blabbermouth)

H.I.M. frontman Ville Valo said in interview that the band's upcoming album, "Venus Doom", is a darker and heavier effort than its previous CD, 2005's "Dark Light". Valo explained, "There's...a lot of SABBATH and old-school METALLICA (in there). I wanted the album to be more aggressive, heavier and more out there."

The new direction also allowed Valo to switch up vocally. "I wanted to sing lower — use my baritone a lot more," he said. "When all those influences come together, it's like, 'I wanna do that [Mark] Lanegan, Leonard Cohen-y type of vibe.'"

Valo added that the disc's tentative first single, "Kiss of Dawn", was inspired by the suicide of one of his best friends. Valo said, "The whole song is a tribute to him. It's also a love song. I love that dude. He was a great friend of mine. We hung out and had great f***ing conversations. It's a celebration of life, rather than death."

H.I.M. will have a chance to see how the new stuff stacks up with METALLICA when they open a few dates in Europe for the metal gods. "It's going to be fun," Valo said. "I grew up with 'Master of Puppets'. For us it's kind of scary to play such big places. Wembley [Stadium] is like 70, 80,000 people. It's a totally new experience."

"Venus Doom" is due out on September 18.

A new H.I.M. track called "Passion's Killing Floor" can be heard on the soundtrack of the movie "Transformers", which arrives in stores on Tuesday (July 3).

I'm not even gonna attempt those lyrics until I hear a better version... I can kinda hear the Chorus, I guess I can try and take a swing at that one... Stay Tuned!

*EDIT* Only thing I can make out is "I'm reaching for your shadows of"

Here is a better version of Kiss of Dawn. You can actually hear the vocals/keyboard in these.
