Bands simular to HIM

Whachu got?

HIM is a rare band, we know this. But there are bands who write like them lyrically and preform like them musically.

I want to know these bands.
I need new music

There is absolutely nothing and nobody like HIM!

As for the copycats, maybe you'd like a Finnish band called Charon. Their "Little Angel" video reminds me of HIM videos.

I read of a band somewhere that were actually promoting themselves as part of "Love Metal" too. I honestly cant remember the name, but it seemed pretty lame.

Be careful who you're calling a "copycat" there!

Charon have been in the Finnish Metal scene as long as HIM are...
The sound of the two bands is totally different.
All the Finnish Metal bands (or Suomi Metal as you might find it mentioned) have borrowed similar stuff in their music from each other... That's why their sound has a lot of common things...
Anyway... No other band plays like HIM, Love Metal was made from HIM but there was another band called "SoulRelic" who described their music "Love Metal" but it's different.
As for bands you might like, check out the following:

- Charon
- Entwine
- To/Die/For
- SoulRelic
- For My Pain
- Reflexion
- Embraze
- Poisonblack
- Sentenced

There's more but my mind has stopped right now...  ::)

Yes indeed,

Icon & The Black Roses made a great album with a superb production and very good riffs. The guy's voice was great too! Too bad they ended the band like this...
I have the original album, I can rip it for you and upload it!
By the way, does anyone have any of their demos? There were some available around but I haven't been able to find them. I think they named the band "Blue Obsession" or sth like that before the album...

Lyrically, Muse is nothing like HIM, but musically they sometimes remind me of them. Just the way the singer sings and the use of keyboards.

and their new album Filthy Notes for Frozen Hearts

Reminds me of an Greatest Lovesongs HIM mixed with some 69 Eyes. Really good music, love em!

lacrimas is amazing. my complaint is their older stuff isn't as good. its more doomy and the songs just drag for like 6 minutes.

lacrimas/charon definately know whats going on.

ooooo! and theres some band S.I.N. and they bug me. everything i've heard from them is HIM cover songs.
