One of the reasons why TG and V(IOB) were taken off of Dark Light was that they wanted the album to be a bit more edgy and those songs were a little too much like "basic midtempo HIM", according to Ville. So personally I'm not expecting to hear anything mindblowing but who knows, we'll see.

i find the cd, nothing like what i expected. kinda disappointed. ie Dark Light sounds like a Hymn song you sing at a church, and the rest don't compare to DSBH. everyone just think it's great because they are expecting it to be good. im really disappointed...i thought theyd sing about something different, but i was wrong devils, his soul, darkness, depression,etc... take my hand/life, nothing wows me. at least in the other cd's have variation in guitar and drums, this all sounds the same. i still love love metal and the before stuff but not this cd. i think they tried to hit the 13-16 year old girl range. now a true fan honestly tell me their review, i know a lot of people that liked him for the past year will differ but if you listended to him from the beginning youd understand.

No, I haven't listened.
It could be down to 20,000. I mean, the people on the forums are some of the most die-hard HIM fans, that's why we're on the forums, and plenty of us have said we haven't ordered it. There's just lots of HIM fans that like the music but won't pay that extra money for that, or don't even know it exists.
But I don't really have an opinion on if it's 20,000 or not, just saying that I think they're a possibility.

2 things that just came to mind about this CD.
1. Outros. I felt as if this Cd actually was of an more Intro Cd than outros as said before. Unless the intros are easier to notice than the outros or whatever.

See this was a problem since this Album was SOO hyped up, everyone was expecting something totally new and heavier sound ( or at least i did). I didnt think DL lived up to the hype at ALL. Yes i think DL is a great Cd probably will become my fav, it's just that expectations were too high for this and people will probably be upset over that.

To me, in order to the listen to the album, I have to play it all the way through, everytime I listen. Because each song has its own feeling.
Granted, there are no jinggle bells (wow, I'm tired so excuse spelling) but just picture this landscape covered with freshly fallen snow at twilight. It fits so perfectly with DL.

I was surprised to find that I love every song on Dark Light - over the weeks all have grown on me immensly. Even the track Dark Light, which I wasn't keen on at first, I now think is beautiful.
Now about liking every song: this is not because it's HIM and I am supposed to like everything they do - but simply because I genuinely do LOVE everything about this cd. I think it has an amazing feeling to it - very atmospheric, harmonies/melodies. The whole feel of it takes me off to a world of my own. I have gotten deeper and deeper into this album and it has clicked with me in a big way. I am very impressed. And I even like all the new artwork that has come with it.

Because if I remember right, Japan demands that it's releases have a few extra songs because of all the bootlegging. Something like that.
I doubt very much I'll spend $50 (I think that was the price) for just Poison Heart. Especially since Venus (IOB) and The Cage aren't on there. I probably would if those had been featured however.its not 50 you can find it on 20$ and even more cheap on japanese hmv, bmg japan release there and love said no album at same date than warner japan do with dl
Even the bonus tracks on this album are beautiful...just shows the class of HIM I guess.yeah, i agree, venus (in our blood) is a great song, should've been in the regular dark light album, or in the limited edition one, instead of the cage.

yea, I think I saw it on some page that it's going to be a 2-"disk" LP. But dons't the songs fit on just one disk? What are they going to put on the second one???Yes all the songs would fit on one "disk." But its usually higher quality to only put 4 songs on one side. So thats what would make it a double lp. Lots of bands do this, Audioslave, Dimmu Borgir just to name a few. And plus its just cool to get two records instead of one.

Who thinks dark light was a flop.I think for devoted fans it was a blow to think that a Band could keep some integrity to their Musical roots even if Cash was waved in their face.

In my opinion I think, when recording the next album, they should try to recreate their original sound (1992-1997) that we only ever got a short taste of.They should do the next album like that kind of sound

Of corse not, you can play vinyls in most conventional CD players or even some tape decks ::).

Yes I found it today - a little independant record shop, in Newcastle.Are they selling those at hot topic too now or what I hate going there nbut I csnt find the vinyl anywhere I am running out of options. MAn I hate living in shitsburgh grrrr.

It will be interesting to see if they stick with the dark light sound, or the more older sound, 'cos i find dark light very different. I think the change for this album was nescessary, to keep people interested. I know it kept me interested, so more progression would be good.

I know wish i had that too! I think it would be very expensive if it was sold. I remember the very first album HIM released with villes mother on front cover i saw it on ebay and it was sold for 300 or 400 pounds! :)

I don't see the argument in, if they re-released 666WTL, the original's price value would drop. The only people who really seek out copies of it are über fans. I've never ran into a casual fan who's had a copy. Hell, chances are, they don't even know it exists. The discography, to them, consists of: Razorblade Romance and Dark Light. So, I say re-release it. It'll bring in more money. We all know how much money means to record companies. Plus, it'll introduce the casual fans to the rawer side of HIM. If anything, at least they'll become aware of its existance. Knowledge is power. Power is knowledge. Let's write a song and become friends. Over and out.
