Title: where is the re-recorded version of WLADE?
Post by: SIRJARVIS01 on November 06, 2016, 02:15:10 PM
supposedly it was supposed to be on the And Love said No greatest hits album but I haven't heard it yet... I don't even know if it really exists. Has it ever been released? I suppose you could count the tears on tape studio session as that....but nah....lol

It exists, it was not released and i doubt it will ever be
ToT studio session is not that one as this studio session is from 2012 and the song you mentioned is much much older....

Does anyone know the story of why it wasn't released as advertised?

As far as I know it's never been addressed, but I've always been curious as well. Didn't they eventually change it to "remastered" (although it actually isn't) instead? It's interesting because the booklet lists John Fryer as the producer for It's All Tears, as it should also be for When Love And Death Embrace if they actually intended to include the re-recording, but instead it says Hiili and 1997 like it wasn't supposed to be all along. Could've just been a simple mix up and they didn't want to bother with going through the trouble and expense to fix it, hoping people wouldn't notice/care and that would be the end of it. Regardless, they missed a perfect opportunity to include it on the reissues. I'm actually kind of surprised it hasn't leaked yet, to be honest.

WLADE version that is on ALSN is normal album version from the first album. They did not release the re-recorded version that was indeed done by John Fryer, they did more songs than Its All Tears and WLADE at this sessions. Its All Tears was very well done, re-recorded version was great, so they released it. WLADE was not that great and Greatest lovesongs version sounded better ...  so they did not want to screw it up and they released just album version. There is not that many people with the leak option of this so its not leaked.
