Just in case you hadn't noticed, I linked the song already in the first post. It's kinda hidden because I posted it early lol. As for the hardware,  I can't tell you the specifics right now because I'm not home, but it's a Technics turntable and I spent ~$700 on all the equipment I needed.

I managed to get the 1LP Razorblade Romance cheap from Amazon. Needledropping now. Vinyl quality could have been a bit better, I'll say that straight away!

Much of the quality can be obtained by cleaning the LP first and using good equipment. I use an equivalent, the Knosti Anti-Stat. Maybe I got a dud copy but there's certainly some unwanted noise in between tracks, the sides of the record are quite rough also. Regardless, the needledrop came out quite nicely and ClickRepair cleaned up the one tick I heard whilst transferring, at the beginning of Poison Girl.

My workflow, btw: Technics SL-1210MK2 w/ AT440MLa cart > Technics SU-V9 vintage amplifier > Asus Xonar U7 sound card > Adobe Audition 24/96 > ClickRepair @10 > 20 hz filter.

A spectral analysis of Razorblade Kiss reveals plenty of information beyond the audible range. Unfortunately, the label weren't clear about their sources but I think I've read that the album was cut to tape originally. I wonder if tape was the source here?

The good news is that this is the most dynamic mastering of Razorblade Romance to date. From listening to it, I think there must be some compression baked into the mix because you can still hear its artefacts on some of the guitars and on some vocal passages (and, with an average dynamic range value of 10 dB, surely there must be some residual compression!). Still, the best this record has ever sounded but I believe it could be bettered.
