Title: Guitar/Bass Rigs Through the Years
Post by: DSC5LU on December 07, 2014, 05:36:19 PM
I'm always looking for more pictures and information about the gear that the band has used over the years. Let me know if you have any questions or want any pics. Please add to the thread if you know any more!!

Linde
Guitars:
Live
+ '90s Gibson SG Standard (Dark Heritage Cherry)
Tuning machines changed to Grover keystone tuners.

+ '90s Gibson SG Standard (Light Heritage Cherry)
Tuning machines changed to Grover keystone tuners.
Buzz Feiten tuning system installed.

+ '90s Gibson SG Standard (Light Heritage Cherry)
Covered in Padre Pio stickers and possibly refinished to his 1st white one [?].

+ '90s Gibson SG Standard (Black)
Covered in stickers and burned severely prior to Rock am Ring 2001.
Another prime candidate for refinishing.

+ '90s Gibson SG Standard (White)
White SG Standards were never made, and the first appearances of the white
SG at Tavastia in 2003 had the Padre Pio stickers on the pickguard, which leads
me to believe he simply refinished one of his guitars.)

+ '00s Gibson SG Standard (White)
He has multiple of this one.
Some have Grover tuners.
Some have Buzz Feiten installed.
Seymour Duncan bridge pickups, either SH-4 or SH-5.
For a while one had a Hipshot D-Tuner with Schaller style tuning machine.

+ '96 Gibson SG Special (Faded Brown)
Sold through eBay for charity 'Rock Against Suicide'.

+ '00s Gibson SG Special (Dark Walnut)
Only seen in video for 'The Sacrament' and on select dates of the 2002 tour.

+ Gibson '61 Reissue Les Paul/SG (White)
Used at a few shows in '07-'08.

+ Gibson '61 (SG) Les Paul Custom Reissue (White)
Used in Tempe, AZ on the Love Metal Archives Tour of 2014.

Only seen in one picture from 1999.

+ Gibson Les Paul Standard (Black)
Only seen in Jyrki TV appearance from 1996, could have been borrowed.

+ Charvel 475 (Black)
Seen in '96 version of the 'Wicked Game' video.
Headstock sanded to natural. Black hardware, with Floyd Rose trem.
Not seen since 1996.

+ Gibson SG Standard (Heritage Cherry)
Maestro vibrato installed. Only seen in the video for 'Buried Alive By Love'.

+ Gibson EDS-1275 Double-neck (Cherry)
Only seen in the video for 'In Joy and Sorrow'.

What date/venue is this? And what song? Changing a guitar is during a show is pretty rare from Linde (except if the guitars are in different tuning)

Good that he's got a backup guitar :D I've never seen this SG before. I'd like to see one of the red SG's on the stage again, they're cool. I found this old picture from the old heartagram.com. It shows the guitars/basses from the Semifinal Club in 2003, and there are those 3 red SG's and 2 of Mige's basses too. The pic is pretty small though.

The black one turned into the monstrosity from the 2001/2002 shows. He covered it in stickers, then burnt it and Mige's bass with a torch. That's why in the videos from Rock Am Ring '01 you can see the neck is still black, but the body is burnt down to the wood.

wow....answer to all of my questions! Thanks!

And by the way about white SG with Padre Pio stickers he can simple changed pickguards from Heritige Cherry one

That is very possible. However, due to the sudden disappearance of the Heritage Cherry SG and the sudden appearance of the white SG with the Padre Pio pickguard, I believe them to be connected.

My theory is that either he had the burnt black one refinished and replaced the pickguard and knobs on the cherry one with new, or the cherry one was refinished to be white.

The evidence I have collected through thorough photographic research:
1. The cherry Padre SG is not seen in any photos after 2003, with or without stickers. The last known photos show it to have acquired Grover Modern tuners and it is missing the silver insert on the bridge volume knob.

2. The black SG is not seen in any photos after 2001 or 2002.
3. The white SG's first appearance is in December 2003 with the Padre pickguard, a knob which is missing the silver insert, and Grover Modern tuners, just like the cherry PP SG.

(https://a1-images.myspacecdn.com/images03/23/aa595ecc6da04e46a7dc3682e828c1e1/300x300.jpg) (http://cdn.buzznet.com/assets/users12/villesguitargrl/default/linde-guitar-world-magazine--large-msg-115614663353.jpg)
4. White SG Standards of this vintage were not introduced to market until 2005 with the limited run of Music123 exclusives, hinting at a custom finish.

Anyway, if anyone has any more information PLEASE post! Thanks!

Not fully visible, but it was like this:
1 BABL
2 BUTTERFLY
3 RIGHT HERE
4 KISS OF DAWN
5 PASSIONS
6 JOIN ME
7 SOUL ON FIRE
8 FUNERAL
9 REBEL YELL

Kimmo said that the pedals were the same in Japan two weeks ago so I believe the set was from those Japan shows.

What being said on the first post, Linde STILL uses those Peavey amps. If I understood correctly, the second VH100R is for backup if the other goes broken. And the Peaveys are the same. The two upper cabinets brings sound from the Laney and Peavey, and the lower left is some fuzz channel. The fourth cabinet is not used right now.

I don't think so. He using four channels stereo sound (as you can see on the Guitar Rig Rundown) He used four VH100R when they came back at Helldone 2012 and during TOT Tour he replaced two VH100R for Peavey 5150....after few show 5150 disappeared in backstage.....probably because Linde is a official Laney Player I guess

Nono he still uses that. We were shown. And they said and I heard that there was no sound from the fourth cab! And see the one picture above, the Peavey is on.

I don't know anything about this sort of stuff, but I saw these pics over on Valo-Daily (http://valo-daily.livejournal.com/5122836.html#cutid1) and thought they belonged here:

They're apparently Mige's pedal and bass ("This's pedal made by Mige! Wow,his bass guitar made by himself too, amazing!!! [...] It seems like normal Fender but The neck is for Precision Bass,Body is for JazzBass and pickup is made in 70's!!! Wow the bass is like a chopper!!!!! and,,, check the big volume!(^ ^) Thanks Mige?" - Ju-Ken [Vamps' bass player]) from their show in Japan with Vamps (pics are from Vamps' tour diary and the quote is the translation the OP on Valo-Daily gave).

Yeah, probably in Backstage Sound but If you watch videos from Moscow (or any others from Middle Aged Tour) both Laney Amp is ON

Anyway I should send email to Kimmo and figure out  ;)

Yeah, I think they both are on because if the other gets broken you can just plug the cable in the others input without waiting the tubes inside the amp warming up. Or maybe because it just that it looks cooler :D

Yeah, he also used JVM stacks in Russia in '13 or '14 I think. Usually it's a bit tougher to get ahold of lesser known amps in poorer countries and the shipping on a VH100R at about a hundred pounds would be insane.

Found this pic. There are Gibson Les Paul Standard, Charvel 475, and I am not shure what models, but an ESP(LTD?) and some other guitar. All black(no racism :P) Not shure what SG, but the pic is probably taken in 2000. Can't see the amp... damn.

That was from an article on 7 string guitars in a European magazine back in the day. That's his '77 SG Standard, the rest were given to him to review. Pretty good article. He talks about how he used 7 string tuning on Razorblade Romance.

The amps look to be a Marshall Valvestate combo and a vintage London City DEA 100.

i dont wanna create the new thread for this shit, so i will put it there as maybe some guitarists reading it....

Anyone figured out the solo tabs for Vinnfox Relics versions for: Beyond Redemption and Endless Dark? I can trade it for rhytm guitar tabs :D  I Figured out everything except for solos as i dont love soloing and learing solos by ear is shit for me as i easier forget how to play it after some time wihtout playing it.

Hehe, I play guitar too. I guess I am the same kind of dude playing rhythms mostly, but I love soloing when I can play it :D But I will maybe try to figure even something out from those songs. I have never really used any tab creators but... I guess I can try. BTW do you own any fuzz pedals? I only have the new version of the Octafuzz pedal.

No i dont have any effect at all! just the most lousy cheapest mini shit Behringer combo, its a terrible shit but good enough for my free time home playing....
i dont know any editors or creators of tabs or something , i thought i would tape a video of it with some explanation if needed and thats it
i dont know i grew up on Ramones and punk rock bands which are mostly solos free or only easy small ones that always bothered me anyway, of course i listened to Slayer and Motorhead and Red Hot CHili Peppers but solos never grown on me... OK i like some of the solos in general but i could count all of them on the fingers of my hands.... the greatest guitar solo is for me in Black Sabbath - Neon Nights song... and some Survivor songs have nice solos too but thats just all i always prefered licks and riffs and nice rhytm gutiars
even HIM songs i barely taught few solos , i just dont like playing it, figuring it by ears and learning it, and in general when i learn how to paly some HIM song i just go through the solo with some shit impro i only do as a filler completely out of everything that has anything to do with the solo in the song :D from what i remember that i can play from HIM solos is maybe only Under The Rose that is easy one, easy one was 9th circle as well but i forgot how to play it already :D and Solitary Man has the easiest solo i only watched few videos of Linde from live performance or playback performance and it was done , one take. i knew more solos and songs in general but i stopped playing them completely and now if you wanted me to play Ode to Solitude or Sleepwalking i would be able to play only few parts correctly i suppose :D
But i quite like the solo in Beyond Redemption Vinnfox Relics but i am too lazy to learn it by ear.... i knew how to play the Hamburg 2003 live version of Beyond Redemption solo but that is useless for this version :D

+ Gibson '61 Reissue Les Paul/SG (White)
Used at a few shows in '07-'08.

I just did search "HIM" from a Finnish site where all dudes sell their instruments. There are a lot of guitars, but I caught something cool! Yesterday some dude put a Gibson SG '61 Reissue on sale. The description said, that the guitar has been in Linde's arsenal. I did a bit of research and noticed that it's exactly the same guitar that Linde used in Helldone 2008. Wow! Look here: https://muusikoiden.net/tori/nayta.php?id=1093811

Unfortunately, the link is broken. I would buy it no matter the price if there is provenance that it is Linde's. :(

I guess someone bought it. But I think that it really was the one that Linde had back then. If it wasn't Linde's, why the seller would mention it on the description (just in that, not on the article)? That place doesn't really have much fake ripoff stuff. The price was 1200 euros BTW.

Yep, exactly what I was thinking. If you look on the Monkey Business channel he's got videos playing that Reverend guitar and he's obviously deeply connected with the Backstage Secrets thing. It was pretty cool seeing that Linde's warmup routine is so similar to my own.

Hey guys,

Sorry if resurrecting a dead thread but thought I'd thought I'd chip in here myself.

I did an interview with Linde after that masterclass with Backstage Secrets actually (I work for them), if you haven't read it already there's some interesting conversations I had with him that you can read it here:

http://backstage-secrets.com/blog/interview-with-linde-lindstrom.html (http://backstage-secrets.com/blog/interview-with-linde-lindstrom.html)
