LOL I think their budget was about 5 dollars. I love that the entire vid is ville spinning around in circles with flashes of dead animals. Then halfway in he takes his shirt off. I don't know what they were thinking.

i do like the video for some reason only thing i think they couldve done differently was actually having a performance shot of the whole band together besides that i like all the taxidermy animals and stuff. thats probably what it looks like when Ville is writing the songs cause his tower is all decked out in taxidermy owls and such. i like the flashing lights too.

I like band performances in videos. A lot of my favorite HIM videos are band performances that most of you guys hate (Killing Loneliness, Bleed Well, Buried Alive By Love, Poison Girl).

Ville's expressions (he makes some evil looking expression I havent seen since the Razorblade Romance era)
The model (I think she's beautiful)

The lack of the other band members
Overall it's whatever. I don't care much for music videos anyway.

well... i love everything since Love Metal... every album and every single song (except Don't close your heart)
Dark Light was a failure.... for me! Venus Doom tried to save it but now the new album seems to have finished it (the 3 songs i've heard)
it is not being harsh... it is a matter of taste.
i don't know how long you have been listening to HIM... but people from Europe who know them since their early years are (most of them) quite disappointed by their songs and attitude since Bam came into their lives :-\
this happens to every europian kinda-underground-band who wants to become famous in america... they change... they keep the looks and they change their sound to something more commercial (and BAD commercial... cause i have no problem with commercial) Look at Nightwish too...
it is not that i don't want to like anything... i try so much and hope that they will make something good!!!! but they don't :(

Nothing can be worse than the Bleed Well video with the annoying little girl dancing next to Ville. Heartkiller's a hundred times better than any video they've done since they signed in the US.

i always thought nothing can be worst than the kiss of dawn video,than bleed well came and i said the same thing about bleed well ....now i have seen Heartkiller video and i wanna cry :(
Lindes dreadlocks are pretty awesome,i can´t unterstand how can he sleeps with them :D
Mige in that leather coat looks so great,i mean like rough guy from some mafia movie or something heh
I hate that when is the part of : edit it down to a single word love,and there is that red LOVE word written in the video,it looks so ridiculous ,that blue heartagram at the end is ok,but this LOVE word is really heartkiller

I don't like how some again here say European fans don't like how they changed...I'm German and a fan since beginning 2000, I love the new shit coming out now...HIM stands for their variabilty, that's what I love, maybe I'm blessed that things like american production or a maybe commercial video (by the way I don't think that's commercial at all) are no points to dicuss for me...it's HIM in all their range...I LOVE them!
To come back to the video, I'm no friend of comparing things in any situation of life...but if you put it on the plan, I even say it's the best video since LM era and I'm thankful they try new things and not just embrace goth cliches, HIM is not goth or metal, but alright then...I don't wanna argue with anyone, it's a question of taste anyway... ;) :)

Haha, worst HIM video? It beats the hell of the the crappy "wings of a butterfly" and the "and love said no" video.
But, anyways! I think its pretty cool because it is pretty different from what they`ve made before,but i dont like the singing sequences with Ville. It shouldent be close up on his face all the time.

I think we are being too harsh. But it's because we expect this band to give everything they've got. We all know their potential cause we're all huge fans, so it disappoints us when we see not enough effort put into music videos, album titles, etc.
I watched the video a couple times and I've come in full circle. It's not as bad as I initially thought.

maybe these thoughts help you to step in:
animals die from nature, man dies from heart and soul (all those claws and mad faces she shows is her killing him from his heart) ... it's about relationship, heartkilling...not my own thoughts, credit to a girl from heartagram forum...

- that blue flatline-heartagram thing at the end.

Song still rocks. video could use less boob. Linde's dread's are awesome.
I like that the video is meant to be based on the work of a Photographer, and the original Photographs are great conceptually, doesn't really work as a video in IMHO mainly because it's still exactly what it is, a performance video - like every other band walking the face of the planet is capable of, being able to produce originality on every level not just musically is meant to be what makes the difference between a great band and an average band.
You wouldn't spend ten years producing a masterpiece then piss on it before you hung it on the wall would you?

not bad to have a different opinion, but needing to mention MOST of European fans don't like the new stuff is kinda poor, doesn't fit a good argument, you can give your opinion, that's fine...I cannot confirm your argument anyway, depends on circle of friends, connections and what people (/opinions) you like to discuss with...

Being a fan for over 8 years now, I have never seen such a boreing video,I was dissapointed ,but you know it's about the music not the video,the3 music is what counts here,most will rememeber the music and forget about the video over time anyway.

hi am new to this forum but am long term him fan and all i can say is the video dont suit the song the way i saw the the video came across quite dark if the song was darker maybe it would of meshed better, video would have suited a track of greatest love songs but the style should have been a bit more glam or plain generic american styley like the killing loneliness video the second one heart killer seems pretty lame so far

At about 2:50 you can see Ville got a new tattoo on his hip next to the naked lady. It's a different style of a heartagram. Pretty cool, it's got a pentagram in it I think.

As much as I like a good music video, a video at all isn't essential and really isn't worth complaining about. If you don't like it, don't watch it, it is after all just an afterthought after the music. Sentenced, one of the greatest bands ever, had like 5 or 6 videos in their 15 years of being together, none of them were particularly fantastic (Though Ever Frost was pretty fucking great) but they didn't make me like the band any less.

I was overall disappointed by the new Heartkiller video, I was just kinda hoping for a lot more in it. I mean it seems a little creative with the way they did it, the colors and flashing pictures and whatnot, but it got a little stale just watching Ville stand in front of the camera not moving.

Personally I like it, it's cheap and it was made in no time, Ville was talking about how it took longer just to get the song right, but they got the video first try lol.
They were going for the 80's vibe, and they did it.
