Title: Venus Doom Different Editions
Post by: six6sixways2love on September 18, 2007, 12:09:52 PM
I'm helping clarify all the different versions of the new cd

Limited Edition- the leather packaging

Special Edition- Now, i just went to target and for $16 bought what looks to be the same thing you could order from warner bros for $26. i haven't received my warner shipment but the one from target has a parchment white color and warner's seems to be yellow when looking on the website. if they're ARE the same one is definitely going back
(someone help me out with this one)

Then there is just the regular 9 track version of the cd

so does that mean the 26.98 special edition version from here, http://www.heartagram.com/venusdoom comes with a dvd ? ?

they're the same cover with the V D overlapping letters, that's why i thought that.

No i dont think so. as far as i heard the one from heartagram is just with two bonus track and the one from hmv is a different one ;)

i want to know what's on the dvd before i buy it.  i allready pre ordered the limited and special editions.  I would of just got the limited black leather version if i knew it was two of the bonus tracks from the special edition and plus one.

I think the DVD is not real since no one knows what is on it

HMV probably just thought "hey 2nd disc! must be a dvd"

but as far as the overlapping letters from warner......cream colored? or is it yellow?

The special edition of Dark Light also said it came with a dvd and it didn't. So I doubt if this one does either. I worked at a music store when DL came out and it was just a mistake in the computers because even the price tags said dvd on it.

Well in all honesty. For those of you who remember that info.
There was supposed to be an EPK that involved Ville Valo talking through each of those tracks.
Bam Margera mentioned it or something like that, with the EPK viewing viewed through a Telebox behind him.
I guess they must've pulled that idea at the last minute?

But there was one done for the basic promotion of D.L.

Same goes for El Tiempo de la Cereza for Bunbury & Vegas. I managed to get a hold of their EPK and on the intro it speaks it is for Promotional Value only, there was no retail existence for this item.

As far as I know, there is no major info on any EPK's done for this Album.
Maybe they will do it like they did it for Wigs of a Booty Fly, the Hot Topic Edition.
But I cannot confirm that, as of yet. I know nada about this.

Reg. Ed. (AKA the fugly lady)
9 Tracks.

Spec. Ed. (AKA known to Jenn as the Cream Coloured one... which I think is appropiate).
9 Tracks  + 2 Remixes.

Lim. Ed. (AKA the Fleather Folder).
9 Tracks + 2 Remixes + 1 Acoustic.

There is talk about a Jap. Ed.
No confirmation of the tracks on those yet. Though it will run through the same Distributor.
Stay tune for that.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm interesting,     who speaks on the intro Enrique or Nacho?

(out of thread  :D)

going back to the VD thing,   I think they just see the 2nd disc as a dvd, not realizing that is another cd with only bonus tracks.

i'm pissed i saw the creamy yellow limited edition one, lo, in best buy yesterday and the fugly lady, lol.

I hope they don't sell the black leather one in stores, cuz it makes it more special.

Enrique.
They are both Interviewed in a Garden three weeks after finishing the session of recording by a close reporter of both.

the black leather edition is the internet edition which some people in the manson forum confused it as the Itunes album. (It is the regular edition I would assume, I don't buy digital crap stuff from there).

That's the standard jewelcase version. As far as I know every country has the same standard and 2 disc versions of the album. The only difference is the Finnish version, which is published by HMC and not WBR. And even then, it's just different copyright text.

i'm sure they'll keep that to online only. i just dont like how they call it limited. for all we know they're 500,000 of them. that is one thing i liked about the DL tin can. was you knew how many there were

i got my online edition 2 days ago. Yeah not as cool as i expected. I was hoping the bonus trax would be 3 totally diff songs, kinda like the DL tin. But the acoustic Bleed WEll is fn awsome though. And personally i dont get whats up with the fake polaroids in the lim edition?

One thing i noticed yesterday the there`s is a difference in the colors on the american version and the european version(or at least the one they sell in norway) The colours are a lot stronger on the us edition a.k.a the one with the FBI piracy warning on the back.

Us verison(stronger colors):

Why are the 3 extra songs on a seperate disc? I bet they would have fit on the same one as all the other tracks.
Title: Re: Venus Doom Different Editions
Post by: Daedalus on October 09, 2007, 07:55:58 AM
It was probably done for ease. They can press the regular album for all three versions at the same time without having to change anything. It may have been cheaper to include the bonus tracks on seperate discs than to have to change up the master to add them to the regular album.

yea, well I think it sucks! If you pay that much money for a special edition at least there should be something special with the CD and not exactly the same one as in the other versions.

The whole thing was really overpriced, it should have cost not more than 35?

It really isn't worth that in my opinion.

I hope that they realese a version with all the bonus.because if we are paying so much $$ for the disc I think that it has to be full and complete

i dont see the point in buyin the leather bound one, u only get bleed well acoustic and thats not enough to pay 40 bucks for it. I wonder why no bonus songs this time.
Maybe some b-sides or they don't do that as much anymore!
