im not to bothered because wether its leaks or not i will defiantly buy the cd but might still download in before hand because i thinks it worse to share it around rather then just download it yourself and buy the album later

Well, the thing with VD is that they permitted us to hear a couple of songs and clips unlike DL, or at least my memory refuses to go back to that part and I dont remember. I recall when I first hear vampire heart or killing loneliness back in RnR 05 they were like... meeeh, good songs. But the VD songs played live, I don't know they have a different feeling to it.
I'm also trying to convince myself not to hear the album if it gets leaked, but you know.... the dark side is a bitch!

I can't seem to find anything either. I'm a little reluctant to listen to these samples though. It might be better to wait for a proper leak. Although, hearing these samples just might persuade me to preorder the special limited edition.

And the last one just doesn't apply because if that were the case, just because u have sex doesn't mean you have a baby. I think he's refering to listening to the samples now as opposed to waiting for the whole thing to be leaked/released. It'll kill the anticipation a bit. No surprises.

I'm assuming there is no key... they just put it there to make you think you have to buy a ringtone to get it, which I did >:( I've tried everything from J to Jonna... finding that exact spot on the video where the image comes from and typing in the word he's saying at the time which is "dawn" and even the time at which the video is at in minute form "1:19" to seconds "139 seconds".

Behind the gates were quick samples of Love in Cold Blood and Cyanide Sun. Venus Doom has been played on Finnish radio stations. Bleed Well can be heard in the HIM 120 seconds video. Dead Lover's Lane was played live.

Preorders usually ship out about two days before the release date.
Online companies usually try to make sure the customer has it by release day. That way they don't cancel the order and just go buy it at a store.

HIM Singer Reveals Rehab Hell - Aug. 10, 2007
Ville Valo has revealed to Britain's Rock Sound magazine (web site) how he checked himself into rehab recently in order to avoid having heart failure. The HIM vocalist spent a couple of weeks detoxing "behind bars" after his drinking had escalated to a point where he said he had two options — die of heart failure or go into rehab. And he cites pressure of work as a key factor.
"It was more like detoxing, it was my first holiday in 15 years," laughed the singer. "I was feeling psychically fucking sick, tired, and depressed, and if I hadn't gone in there I would have been under more pressure to do more work. Something happens each and every day — a meeting about this, a meeting about that, several meetings a day; there is no way of stopping. You can't say, 'I won't do anything for two weeks.' I can't say that to myself because I feel bad for letting people down. So the best thing was for me to go into a place with gates, with no cell phone, proper food, and just no fuckin' booze or nothing. It was good for me."
And after the initial shock, Ville said he's reaping the benefits of his self-imposed Betty Ford duty.
"It was a test of patience for a couple of days, I was shivering and shaking like a leaf," he explained, "and then coming together with my real emotions as I haven't been sober in a real long time — the past 10 years. I have been sleeping like a fucking baby for the first time in 15 years!"

i don't think that it is going to leak at all, they have it on lock down lol. earliest will hear it before release is if they stream it somewhere a week early like they did with dark light on that spanish website. i don't really care anymore i'm tired of looking for it. just makes me pissed off/dissapointed when i don't. i was thinking about not even coming back on here until it comes out but i don't know if i could do that though i'd miss you guys too much lol.

I'm still VD free...I did lapse and listen to the DLL clip like, 4 times...in a row. Besides that, I don't quite remember how Cyanide Sun, Love in Cold Blood or Venus Doom sound, and I played the first couple of bars of Kiss of Dawn on my guitar...but that doesn't count.
I've put Deep Shadows on today and I really like it again....I need a HIM fix of some sort, so that'll have to do.

I find that when I get into moods where nothing pleases me, and I pop in DS or LM, I really fucking love it. Like I've never listened to it before. It's amazing. HIM is the only band that does that to me.

Other than various members posting their thoughts about PFK, KOD, VD, and Miltos touching very vaguely on the specifics, I don't recall reading anything greatly significant regarding the album. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Most people here that have heard the album in full heard it at preview parties - I doubt they can remember specifics from 7+ songs they only heard once.
And for those with promos, if they were to post their thoughts, they'd be harrassed to leak their copy.

I deleted the links. It's not that we're trying to be dicks, but the media section is something you need to earn access to. It's not like we're charging you anything, you just have to be a contributing member to the community.

Unfortunately this goes beyond for the price of four V.D. books.
It cost 260.
It isn't really a new release.
All it is being re-released is all of the vinyls and four of which were out of print due to the fact that they were very limited printed (5,ooo). Some of which I am missing only two, To spend 3oo to 5oo for each vinyl is ridiculous, so why not get all of them at once.
The sound has been originally remastered to its fullest, they are worth it for those who collect vinyls. It comes with a special edtion book, a poster, and a suede case for the vinyls.
(Pretty much like that thing HIM released only these have been restored to their maximum state plus you get way better things).
This comes out Sept 4th.
Oh the sacrifices I must make, like you said, make my mouth all dolled up (for my g/f that is).

It was brought up because we were on the topic of Hot Topic playing the album. For DL they played it in stores and on the website, but also while Hot Topic had it on their website it was playing on Heartagram.com That's where I ripped the stream from. And the reason why I brought it up is that someone said that it'll leak before then, and I said that you shouldn't keep your hopes up cause it never really leaked last time, it was just a rip from a stream.
So, just don't expect a CD quality version until it is released or a few days before cause some people get it delivered before the street date... And also, I really hope that everyone bought it and isn't gonna download it cause I really despise people who want to steal shit from my favorite band.

Yeah they put it back for promotional purposes like Daedalus said. I'm just impatient now, the album is really promising.
But on the other side of the coin, if not for Warner, we may have never gotten this album.
I think it would be fair to say we wouldn't have this album now. Warner has given the band huge exposure through Dark Light, which in itself is an album that is easy on the ear and has exposed the band to yet another fan base. This means the fan base will buy Venus Doom and so on.
I also think without Dark Light we wouldn't have this album. I don't think Ville was overly impressed with several factors on Dark Light so the lesser before the more if you like.

After hearing the acoustic of Love in Cold Blood, it made me realize something - the song playing in the 120 seconds video is Love in Cold Blood, not Bleed Well. Bleed Well is too slow.

the extra songs come in a second cd, then im gonna have to swap out the cds just to hear 2 other songs :(
why couldnt they just put it in the cd, and then give us a cooler 2nd disc, maybe a dvd like what was rumored a long time ago.

Maybe they're just remixes or possibly songs that are out of context and don't necessarily pertain to the album. Reading interviews and things it sounds to me like Ville really feels VD all fits together and is more or less one big "piece."
That, or they're just gay.

Found out today at work that Target will carry the standard edition and the limited edition. The regular prices are $14.99 for the standard, $22.99 for the LE. Both will be on sale the first week of release, but I don't have those prices yet. Expect $11.99 for standard and as low as $17.99 for the LE. Both are being merchandised on the "New Release" endcap display, at the front of the entertainment department. This is a big deal since Dark Light was relegated to "Rock 4", which is the last section of rock music at the far end of the best seller wall. The only other major releases that week are Barry Manilow, The Bee Gees, KT Tunstall and James Blunt. HIM will perform fairly well, at least at Target. Venus Doom should be featured in our Sunday circular that week as well.

Hmm maybe the warner tech guy just fucked up. I don't understand why they would change the song title to "Evil". Ville is an Interpol fan, so maybe it's supposed to be that song and somehow the lyrics got mixed up. A cover of either of those songs would be nice. One of HIM?s best songs ever. The guitar is tuned in H [meaning B in international terminology] and the heavy gothic C part is smartened by a musicbox.
?This was finished just before we went into the studio. In the C part there?s some doom like in Paradise Lost and massive Jim Steinman style vocals in the choruses. Although the idea of having a little too much of everything was stolen from The Corrosion by Sisters Of Mercy. In the C part I sing lower than ever before.?
Love In Cold Blood
This song has a very heavy punkyish guitar riff that indirectly resembles Thin Lizzy. The chorus with its wolf-like howling ?Love in co-o-o-old blood? glues like resin.
?To me the riff sounds like Cathedral. Originally we meant to have Lee (Dorrian, the singer of Cathedral) sing on this one, but it never materialised. The song is quite a mess: some parts remind you of Metallica, some of Sabbath. And in the end there?s some Kyuss and Alice In Chains.?
Passion?s Killing Floor
A fine syncope-ridden song that was sold to the movie Transformers. Stylish changes of tempo, a short drum solo and church bells. The first lines go: ?It?s poetry carved in flesh, this beautiful hell of ours?.
?The chorus was composed even before Join Me, some time around 1997. I don?t usually write to desk drawer, but some songs just stay alive. The main riff saw the light in 2001 or 2002, played on acoustic guitar after some tv show in Cologne.?

The first single release off the album. A song that includes a psychedelic outro and smells like 80?s hardrock.
?The video was shot in Los Angeles at the legendary Scream Club. It was directed by Meiert Avis, who directed Wings Of The Butterfly from the last album. We even had Tim Palmer on the video. He pretends to be pressing some button [or something like that]. The song is a combination of our heavy and light stuff. The riff is like from Zakk Wylde and the chorus from The Beatles. It?s dedicated to a friend of mine who killed him/herself a couple of years ago.?
Sleepwalking Past Hope
A handsome song that sees both the change of atmosphere and tune, spiced by percussion instruments and in the lyrics a new way to say 666. The band?s ?magnum opus?, for the time being at least.
?It?s true, in the text there?s a ?six hundred three score and six? pun. I had the association with Dante?s Inferno ? in that the Hell ends on the ninth circle. In the song, Inferno only starts at that and ends at 666. Also, Lucifer is mentioned for the first time on a HIM record. This song is my favourite at the moment. It?s a grandiose thing that kind of has three songs in one. In one part there?s a very heavy riff that, in Zepu style, is in minor instead of major.?

An archtype of a HIM song whose chorus takes you back to the 80?s. In a short middle part, there?s a more modern piano loop combination.
?At some point when we were jamming, I came up with a huge bunch of riffs. That rarely happens but it was nice though. The lads called me the riff king the rest of the day. This song has a fine guitar riff and the music is quite a potpur. It reminds me both of Killing Joke, Jethro Tull and Billy Idol. The verse is a mixture of Ijahman Levi and Interpol.?

A one-minute acoustic piece. A field recording where, apart from playing and singing, you can here a chair squeaking. The lyrics include, among other things: ?Sorrow rebuild me. Misery strengthen me?.
?At the time of mixing, I lived in the classic Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles where John Belushi killed himself. I wanted the song to have an acoustic part in the middle, like rock songs on Led Zeppelin?s third album. The lyrics are partly based on Timo K. Mukka?s Tabu and the title is a Judee Sill line. We added two tracks of background vocals on it, the rest was recorded live.?
Bleed Well
Happy-going, a slightly atypical HIM song in its positivity. In the bridge.. [something] and the song also has a fabulous keyboard-arpeggio.
?The lightness of this song is fake, because lyrically this song is the darkest on the album. The riff is pure Hurriganes [a Finnish band in the 70?s]. We were laughing our arses off at the thought that we should ask Remanderi [from The Hurriganes]) to play the drums. This song started acoustic and it happened to be the first song that we rehearsed.?
Cyanide Sun
An elevating and epic song that not many people would have spared as the last song. The lyrics say: ?We?ve sailed the seas of grief on a raft built with our tears.? Apparently the lyrics are quite personal.
?To me this song represents Lapland. Parts of it were done four years ago, but I finished it last year in Lapland and the lyrics even later. This is in line with our previous albums in the sense that we always have something a little out of the ordinary as the last song.?

Passion?s Killing Floor
?The chorus was composed even before Join Me, some time around 1997. I don?t usually write to desk drawer, but some songs just stay alive. The main riff saw the light in 2001 or 2002, played on acoustic guitar after some tv show in Cologne.?
Rad. I love that little backstory on PKF. It does explain why it reminds me so much of older HIM stuff. Again, I think it's neat that CS was something Ville has been working on for a while as well. Thank you for posting that article!

Considering the 3 bonus songs on the special edition are probably just remix/acoustic songs found on other singles, the Keane cover would be a nice surprise.

I agree, though the show is usually good with the band sounding tight and such like. It would be hard for them not to sound tight if all they do is play the same damn songs. I don't know why the majority of their Discography seems to have been forgotten, most bands throw a suprise in now and then...

How the hell did that guy mix up lyrics from Keane with Interpol and why is it indexed on the heartagram website? I don't even think Interpol is signed to Warner. That Heartagram club thing is really crap. The only reason it's worth signing up is to hear the album early which to be honest I don't want to do. It's always best the first time you hear it on cd.

again they have put the songs in full in a swf files which links are not protected, only needs to download and decompile the swf to get the full mp3 in 128kbps
