You got me all excited there as I thought they had covered the seminal goth bands brilliant Temple of Love track but no and it isn't even the original but the 1992 remake which is crap compared to the original and that bloody woman's voice drives me mad. I just want to strangle her.

Witches and Other Nightfears was HIM's first demo (or one of). Ville mentions it in an interview in a booklet that comes with the limited edition of And Love Said No: Greatest Hits. This thread is basically for proposing ideas about the demo since it has not leaked... yet.

If we're going to jump him, we need to send somebody that we do not like, so that if they do fail, it is a loss we are able to deal with haha.
But it's highly unlikely that those tapes will ever leak.

So funny that we never know who is serious on here when it comes to this shit. :( Also funny that We would all kill to hear this thing, and its probably very rough sounding and has nothing familiar on it. Early demos can usually be pretty rough. But then again, I could be wrong and it could have some killer stuff on it. Who really knows :)

It would be lovely to get ahold of something like that but alas it won't happen until the band is in their waning years. You know that sort of "well we're pretty much all done here, is there anything we haven't released? Oh look at that old demo I bet the kids would get a kick out of that." followed immediately by the record label saying "you mean these songs have existed for 30 years and you never released them? Well shit, let's just put them out along with 5 other random-ass tracks and charge 40 bucks calling it the "30th anniversary very best of HIM: the greatest hits - featuring 6 new tracks (all digitally remastered) with FREE 1 month membership to the HIM club - SUPER SPECIAL LIMITED DIGIPACK EDITION 2DISC DVD...EDITION!"

I still think it doesn't exist.. The record company would release it because of all the money-making that would come from it.. I think it is just a long well kept secret if it exists or not, but who knows

HIM did 2 demos, first they did witchs and other shiz......took that to record companys and they all hated it.......then did 3 months of rehearsal and did 666 ways to love which then got accepted by a record company...therefore was released first cause the record company liked it.
but witchs and other night shiz definately excists.....just dont think it'll surface anytime soon

It's possible the 1992 demo may also have earlier versions of Serpent Ride and Borellus seeing they're on the 1993 demo. Obviously this is just a theory, it depends how quickly they were writing songs and how many they had.

Leppakko is where it was recorded...around '93.
the leppakko demo's are: serpent ride, borellus, the heartless...i think thats it.
and then they went back in 95 and did the other ones...: stigmata diaboli, the phantom gate, and wicked game.

This thread is a waste of time. Ville isn't going to release the demo - he has no motivation to. He doesn't seem too interested in money, so I doubt he'd be too keen about making money off of demos made by a bunch of drunken teenagers from Finland in the early 90s.
The best we can hope for (or fear for ::)) would be that some of these older songs are redone on newer albums (Love's Requiem, Passion's Killing Floor, etc.)
