What do you guys think of this band? Their one of my favorites and I'm suprised their isn't a topic about them already. They just recently signed a deal with DRT Entertainment (a label in New York) and their latest album "Hide From The Sun" is finally going to be released in the states September 12 with extras. They didn't do so well here with their last cd so I'm hoping they fair a bit better this time. Also hoping for a US tour.

I used to be infatuated with their video In The Shadows (not the movie, the feather version). As I recall, it was no.1 on charts for some time. After that, I borrowed 2 of thier CDs from a friend, saw 2-3 more of their videos on telly, but got really interested only in Bittersweet (guess why? ;)). I'd probably like them more if they had more hits.

My absolute favourite band in the world right now! I got to hear HIM and Negative through them too for which I'm ever grateful! I'm glad they've been signed up at last in the US - I hope things go really well for them there. 

Unfortunately things haven't been going so well in the UK for them, but I'm hoping they will come back to tour again!  I've seen them 3 times and they get better each time I see them :D

they got a couple of amazing songs.

more than a couple.

but ever since dead letters (which wasnt that great) they havent been the same rasmus.

i prefer their really old shit.

rasmus are tight, i just dont know where to place them...they have that kind of emo quality but yet they dont......damn they have that one quality that the other finnish bands dont have, ya know?

They added alot of bonus tracks more than their first american release.

P.S. Dahaka ... What the hell do you mean this band is too commercial?
Have you forgotten what Bands Forum you are visiting?
These guys released Perfume, Panties, Rings, Shitty Shirts, Lip Balm, Bed Covers, and a Ring Coaster.
Now tell me who is more of a sell out?

Rasmus are just a cheap knock off of any other band trying to get an image for themselfs.

I think dahaka was saying "commercial" based upon their pop-rock sound

I enjoy them. I just wish I hadn't missed their tour this past fall

Oh and for those of you who aren't too keen with the Rasmus, they have the same management as HIM with both Seppo and Tom Furey

I used to be a huge fan but to be honest I've gone off them a bit. Lauri's voice can get a bit annoying. When Bittersweet first came out I thought it was awesome. My 3 favourate bands together! But now when Lauri first comes in it grates a bit.

Despite all that though I like listeing to them now and again as a bit of a guilty pleasure. They are a bit naff though.

Life 705 (the Hellofacollection version) is rather great. I quite like Lauri's voice, I am anticipating the new album. hopefully it'll be better than Hide From The Sun and Dead Letters (which were two great albums)

i'm not that keen on this band, they tried to make it at a time when HIM where starting to get more noticed but it never really happened for the rasmus

They are recording the new album in the states, and it should be out early next year. With Venus Doom around the corner, this is the next big release I'm looking forward to. Hopefully a US tour will follow. Probably as an opening act, but thats better then nothing.

I really thought that this was going to be a good band, then I listened to them. The are horrible. Maybe it was just the song I heard but they sounded like a pure pop band.

I think the Rasmus has received some unfair bad reviews, they have done some brilliant songs, and with all bands there are some songs that haven't been as good, but I think they deserve credit.

To be honest, personaly i don't like this band at all. Not the music is my taste, but When Ville (HIM) wears his beanie, why *rasmus singer* needs to be a look-a-like? When HIM starts a tour, almost very soon after HIM gave a show, Rasmus comes. When HIM released an album, soon after that, Rasmus comes with an album/greatest hits. This are some things i've noticed. And it has nothing to do that both bands are from Finnland. But people who like the band, i can only say enjoy :)
