Hi,
this is just speculation but I noticed that Under The Rose is on A-playlist in YleX in Finland.
Usually that is an indication that the song will be released as a single.
The next single was supposed to be Dark Light (at least I thought so), maybe they've changed plans once again.
I think that Under The Rose is best song on Dark Light so I have no complaints.
Edit: In Finland Under the Rose will be only radio promo single... (HMC.fi)

That wouldn't surprise me one bit if Under The Rose was the next single. I thought Dark Light was a bad choice from the beginning. If they wanted a softer song, Play Dead would have been much better.
I am a little surprised that a new single would be surfacing at this time, considering Killing Loneliness is barely offically released.

I very much doubt Dark Light will be a single.
Could you imagine all the TOTP kids sitting through that?
But yeah, UTR wouldn surprise me. An all round good upbeat pop/rock song. Could secure their spot on the American music market.

That might be the case. But then again back in 2003 they were playing Sweet Pandemonium a lot on Finnish radio (well, on YleX at least) and it was never released as a single.

yeah but i remember reading somewhere that under the rose would be the next single, and Stevie Carnage america always gets stuff kinda after eurpe and asia. it was just marketing that had Dark light come out on the same day world wide. we got wings of a butterfly a couple of months after i think

Why are they doing all these weird singles (vampire heart > vinyl only ... UTR > radio only (?)) ???
why can't they just release it normally?

All this mess about when and what singles for Dark Light is so crazy. Nothing is ever certain and things change so much.

well vampire heart was...they didnt have a video but they do have a 7 incher out on the site. and America has officially gotten Killing Lonlieness my girlfriend just saw a commercial on MTV2 about their whole tour in may, dark light, wings of a butterfly and killing lonlieness. ironicly ive never seen a HIM commercial on tv :-\

i hope to hell under the rose does become a single, it's by far my favourite song from dark light. at the HIM gigs in oz the only songs i just had to hear was UTR and bury me deep inside your heart, but i knew they wouldn't play the latter as they haven't played it for ages. a man's allowed to dream though :)

yea i heard he was in talks with warner bros for the 3rd singles video and they had final say? but i fucking hope not cos if he directs it it will just be ville walking around with no shirt on (which im sure the ladies like) but its a bit boring and thats the gist of every video he has directed for them.
also i hope they do some proper b-sides for the next single and not just live recordings 4 of the 6 bsides off the DL singles they have released so far are live recordings.

i dont think that there will be more singles of this album, due this long time since killing loneliness
on finland there were given 3 promos to the radios wob, kl and the last one under the rose, but there was no single of that one
on uk vh was given as promo, and on europe too (at least on germany) i didnt listen radio here too much but probably not much promotion
next release will be the dvd if all goes well

It has been! I think i read it in some review from the american tour last year and they where talking about a different outro on the song

i never heard anything about this. that would be nice if they started playing a couple other songs from dark light and freshen up the set list a little bit this next time around on tour.

I hope this is the next single its such a great upbeat song i think it would go well in charts (well i hope so)! People who dont like HIM dont know what a fantastic band theyre missing! :D

i don't think there will be anymore singles form this album either but, i was thinking about the lyrics in this song the otherday i wonder if he took the idea for the title from the da vinci code because in the book the holy grail lies under the rose emblem. so thought he was saying who ever the song is about that when he says i admit my defeat and walk back home to your heart under the rose meaning their love is sacred if thats where he got it from it's a pretty cool obscure reference to a book well i'm done babbling. sorry for posting this here didn't want to start another topic for no reason.

During the San Antonio 6/1/06 gig he introduced the song as being about The Da Vinci code jokingly.

silke, HIM's support manager said that they have troubles with the dvd, cause they can't decide what's gonna be on it...
however she said that their won't be a dvd in the next time
(maybe next year then?)
