Ok so your trying to use the fact you skateboard as an excuse, for the whole time I skateboarded never once did I pay any attention to Bam or the other skaters. Does it make you a better skater knowing what Bam got arrested for?

Hi everyone, just doing the standard intro. I'm Midge (duh), I'm 27, a musician (clarinet, flute, sax--I was a performance major in college) and I'm from Long Island, NY. I've been into HIM since '98 when I went on a trip to Israel and met a kid who had just spent 6 months touring Scandanavia and fell in love with HIM. He had bought a whole bunch of HIM stuff while in Finland (CD's and such) to bring back to Israel and share with his friends. One of the few CD's I had brought with me was The Beastie Boys "Hello Nasty" and he loved it so much that he offered to trade one of his HIM CD's for my Beastie Boys CD. Needless to say, I did, and the rest is history! ;D

I apologise to the mods, but how i was i to know that they do not come onto here anymore, i was wishing to show the members respect here because when two people are having arguments in full view of everyone else it becomes a real problem. I was not stating that i was not too open for all your likings. It is so nice to see that people wish to stick together to keep things running especially on a good site like this. However telling on me on a board i shall admit has already been done on another site, all for nothing, and it was all because everyone on there singled me out because i wrote my comments and posts differently. :-\ It was a little strange, they even told me that :( So really loves telling on me i am used to, it means nothing anymore to me. Hello everyone, I've loved HIM for several, several years. I'm 20 years old. I first found out about HIM about four or five years ago. I remember back when heartagram.com was all decked out in the Love Metal era. I am a street team leader, and am very happy doing it. I've seen them twice, and I can't wait to see them again (like every other HIM fan, I'm sure).
I am a vocalist in Los Angeles, and I am trying to start a band. My main influence is of course HIM but I don't want to do a HIM knock-off. I want the band to get started as a HIM cover band though, that way I know we all want to make the same kind of music. I love to write, read, watch movies, but most of all go to shows. I love heavy metal in general. Megadeth and Pantera are some of my other favorites.
A lot of people call me a walking talking HIM dictionary, lol. I guess years of reading interviews and watching various videos and clips teaches you a lot.

Been a HIM fan for about 8 years now, love them to death, and probably always will. They're just one of those bands that stick with you as you grow up -at least for me- and even though I may appear at times like your typical fangirl, I assure you I have debated (meaning defended) their music in depth and countless times.

Like all the posts in here are from like a year back.. :P Anyway... I love HIM (obviously) I just went on a $100 HIM merch shopping spree full of bumper stickers, cds, a wallet, and a poster. :) I feel content right now. And anyways... I want to get in touch with other fans because no one here listens to them :( Besides like a couple of my close friends. I find HIM's music to be the most poetic and beautiful. I've been listening to Uneasy Listening Vol. 1 recently. Man... That's some melodic shit right there. :'3 And I love the Gothic romanticism lifestyle. My room is full of candelabras, dragon shelves, Nightmare Before Christmas decor, etc. HIM's lyrics also feel very dark and seductive too. ;) My favorite songs? Ugh. It changes like every week. They're all amazing... Right now: Drunk on Shadows, Passion's Killing Floor, In Joy and Sorrow, Join Me In Death, and... Bleed Well? :P I could go on... But I'll save you the trouble of me writing an even longer post XD Sorry for the length. :) There's my introduction right there.

I haven't introduced myself before but i've been mostly a visitor to this site for a few years now. Basically I found HIM 2002 when they released RR and i've been a fan since. I would say they have been a big influence on my taste of music but before HIM there were Bad Religion, Pennywise and NOFX which have lead to Rise Against, Architects, Mad Caddies and so forth.... Anyways melodies and lyrics have always been a big deal for me. + there's that keyboard that's so addictive...
That was way longer that i was aiming for but i'm really looking forward to this new album, like most of us are :) Cool to be here and i'll try to post more frequently.

I have to say that there aren't a lot bands like HIM that i listen to. mostly punk and skatepunk, like Off With Their Heads, The Menzingers, Gaslight Anthem, The Lawrence Arms an so on. But what's mutual about all of them is that they have mostly melancholic and relatable (is that a word) lyrics!

I really just wanted to say thank you to whomever is in charge of running the site and this forum - you guys are doing a great job. I always enjoyed the no b.s. approach and have to give kudos to who ever compiled that huge list of the 100's of album releases for HIM. That has saved me money and heartache looking for stuff on eBay. Um, anyway, about me? I'm probably older than most on this site, but I don't care- rock and roll keeps me young at heart and HIM is certainly my favorite band. I live in Atlanta, GA and was headed to go to NYC for the 2 shows until....er, they were canceled. Still went to visit friends and had a good time nonetheless. Anyway, that's probably more than anyone wanted to know. :P

So, another 'better late than never' post, I guess :D
Of course I came across Join Me on the radio years and years ago, but I actually managed missing all this great music until last November (yes, November 2014...) when I bought Dark Light from an Irish charity shop. I knew WOAB and Killing Loneliness were alright and thought it couldn't hurt to spend 1£ on that CD. Well. It did hurt my purse because of course I ended up buying a lot more CDs :)
So now I'm here and deeply grateful that there is such a great forum!

start with the first and go as the discography went
and what is going on with the band at the moment? Well they went on the longer vacation, they started to do this few years ago, after they released Tears On Tape (their latest album) they were with few pauses on the tour since June 2013 until the end of 2014 which is like 18 months (of couse they were not touring constantly EVERY DAY, but +/- it was a long tour)
they needed to be at home, remember they have families and they planned to take this year a break so they will have time to rest and Ville wanted to make his Rambo Rimbaud album, but in the beginning of this year their drummer (now former) announced his departure and he moved to US, so they had to think of a new drummer, now they are still on hold, we have no informations about the drummer situation but there was Rambo Rimbaud (Ville Valo solo project) concert announced that will take place in Finland in July. And 2 festivals announced HIM as their headliners - Fezen festival in Hungary and Kubana in Russia Kaliningrad area (i am not sure i didnt check the details yet)
But their website www.heartagram.com (http://www.heartagram.com) is useless since 2011, you wont find any informations there at all, and their facebook was lame lately so there is no gig confirmed, nothing, it uses just for adverisement purposes i guess....
so i would say and i strongly just guess that:
-they already have someone to replace Gas and they wanted few festivals so they can try him, but not only that, i would say that they wanted to stay in live shape and not just vanish from the public view so they wanted to be in touch with the fans at least with few festival performances
-they are maybe working on new materials? maybe
-Ville is probably making his solo album

I used to be known as ur_so_beautiful on the old official HIM forums back in the day, and have since discovered they've been closed. Is there a thread for ex-officials? Anyway I thought I'd join after going through some nostalgia and I just saw HIM in Nottingham so that sparked my interest in them again :)
I know quite a lot about HIM so I will contribute as much as I can. I was pretty well known on the old forums ;)

Hello everyone, my name is Night. I'm completely new to internet forums, so I realized that I may have been rude by posting the other day without first introducing myself (and if it's considered arrogant to talk about yourself on this forum, then just ignore me).
I'm a diehard HIM fan, even though I came to the HIM party REALLY late (around 2009). I was surfing the web, looking for any news about HIM/Ville, when I came across this forum, and knew I had to join.It was so nice to see that there are other people who are still devoted to the Greatest.Band.Ever. Thank you for keeping HIM fandom alive.

Oops, I forgot to post here...I really suck at these intros. I came across this forum moons ago when I was a teen, but I wasn't part of any music forums back then.
I'm a full time retail worker, part time animal rescue/shelter worker and part time singer songwriter ;D from Wales, UK.
Sadly I only rediscovered HIM earlier this year age 25, since kinda not keeping track since the Dark Light era.
I saw that Metal Hammer cover with "HIM IS DEAD" and bought it and was gutted that they were splitting, but at least I've got back into them and become acquainted with the back cataloguen fully now, rather than just singles.
So, it's nice meet you all :) hopefully can make some friends
