Title: Random HIM Bullshit
Post by: alterego on October 11, 2005, 12:09:57 PM
ok, i was trying to think of where to put this info, and really it didn't fit anywhere, so i thought maybe a random HIM thread where we can just put stuff we want to discuss or share about the band that doesn't fit anywhere else.  kinda like bullshit, but HIM related.

so yeah, i was just coping all my HIM cd's to my computer and salt in our wounds came on, and it took me back to the first time i heard it, and i was just so happy.  that seems like so long ago, but it wasn't really.  it gave me fuzzy feelings inside

:D  Same thing happened to me today with Razorblade Kiss.  I stopped in my tracks and was like - woah.  I remember this!  After listening to so much Dark Light - the older stuff sounds new again.

Can't wait to hear it all live!  ;D

You mean track 66 on GLV666 right? I always get confused because everyone seems to call it something different.

What is your favorite quote from Ville?

I agree i don't really like When Love And Death Embrace it's just too slow for me. Plus the video is kinda strange..

I don't really like listening to Buried Alive By Love. That song is so over rated and overplayed. Guh. Bam had to make that video aswelll.

I know this is totally off topic but, personally, I think astrology is bullshit. It's based on the gravatational pull of the planets and other astological bodies on your body when you were born (correct me if I'm wrong). We proved in Physics that the doctor delivering you exerts more gravity than the planets on your body.

Just my two cents, and JenX, that is a pretty interesting chart, I didn't know they made things like that.

lol...  tis why I put it in the bullshit thread ;)

Though I do have a passing interest in astrology, I thought it was appropriate in this thread.  I liked the chart because of the symbols.

It is a cool picture, I never knew they could use astrology to make a chart of someone.

If noone has noticed, in the Dark Light Lyrics thread in the Media second, the Finnish poem from 'Behind the Crimson Door' may have been figured out:

What Inferno Posted:
Meille ei tule vapautta
vaikka pääsisimme selleistä ulos
vaikka häkkejä ei olisi
vaikka jalkaraudat muuttuisivat ruusukkeiksi
me emme vapaudu
elleivät ajatuksemme virtaa syyttävinä
ja omatunto paljasta syyllisiä
sisällämme, sieluissamme, sydämissä
kun kyyneleet valuvat silmistä
ja kaikkialta keihäät sinut lävistävät
muuri murtuu
seinä sortuu
kaikki kahleet putoavat
sydämessä soi laulu

Translation from a Finnish English teacher at SHSU:
We will not have freedom
Even if we were let out of the cells
Even if there were no cages
Even if shackles changed into bows
We will not be free
Unless our thoughts flow accusing
And the conscience reveals the guilty
Inside us, in our souls, in our hearts
When tears flow from the eyes
And spears pear through you
The fortress crumbles
The wall falls down
All shackles drop
In the heart a song is playing

Just so you know some of those arent exactly to the fullest text as it should be, but it is close enough. (No Language can be desolved into a high defenitive scale of text to another).
:)

There are some other famous writers as well who are not as meloncholic but in some terms 'romantic fools',  Alexis Kivi. Than famous creative writers, Renny Harlin. There were also some good painters who actually followed the media of writing through their splendour of Art.
I would recommend some Artist from the late 18oo's who actually had impact in the American/ Euro culture one way or the other.

It's in 'Behind the Crimson Door', when Ville stops singing and you can kind of hear him mumbling in another language. That's this Timo K. Mukka poem in Finnish.

EDIT:

Old news, but they've updated Heartagram.com talking about this now:

Not really.

Charity Foundation still going strong (http://www.7digital.com/stores/productDetail.aspx?shop=34&product=19630&sid=220990).
Many label and artist are still pushing this idea strongly to persist on Human aid for people who are less fortunate.
U2 still have their foundation and promoting it any chance they can when they Tour outside of the Venues.
Morissey is another example.
Even Spanish Rock bands are helping this cause, they are releasing a Cover Album of 80's Music to help spread the word of Aids. 100% of those sales go directly to the charity that will be split in two, one for the Aids foundation and the other for the Tsunami.

That was done with a *Casio CT 460.
My cousin gave me one as a matter of fact almost a week ago since he had his lost in his attic.
I was playing around with it, and I thought I heard that scream before. So I went through some of my Soft Cell, Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode cd's wondering where I heard it. Until I got the idea of listening after 9 long months DSBH and it was that.
From the looks of it, they must have used *alot* of rhythm sequence on just the Outro itself because it was really brought up in the Cd in my Keyboard it sounds like a regular hawk/ eagle scream.

*The CT 465 is known to have an advance version of liquified sounds in a higher stream of Midi than their previous releases, that is what makes this version more suitable for many Musicians.
Eventhough it lacks many original creations it does have different S.C. recordings with many chapters buried in them so you can break them apart or even add more of them as you wish.

I will admit, those candles would kind of look good around the house... well the calapsed hands one anyway, just cos I got the poster.

Now if the RR was black, it would look great. They make it look like a britney spears item or something.

The only thing the pink looked good on was the standard shit...

Poster, shirt, cd... etc.

Does it really matter what gets put out.  If you don't like it, dont buy it.  Its as simple as that.  Oy Heartagram just signs off on shit (which is mostly Ville),  they could really careless, they get their money.

ALL the information came from Valo Daily (http://www.livejournal.com/community/valo_daily/) (Ville Valo Visuals)
This is just a summary of some posts. All credits go to the persons who posted all this.

Is this picture (from the HMV signing in Canada, 13 November) normal?
(except the hat of Linde, which is funny)

The tattood "J", the engagement tattoo, is missing.
It seems that is it not because of the light that you can't see it.

Also on some other live picture you can't see the tattoo, but he is wearing his gloves.

In the Finnland press there is a pictures from Jonna kissing another guy.
(But is seems that she is doing that more often, nothing serious)
(And I never knew that she had a relationship with Jussi69)

Normally I don't care about Ville's privat life, I care about the music, but relationships have influences in HIM songs.
And I don't know what is true, I just noticed it, and that is why I post in here, in HIM Bullshit
Posting this was like writing for a tabloid, all the stupid rumours.

Just to clear the stuff up about the tattoo (for the people who are still not sure if its there or not) I saw pics from the NY and AC show and its still there. Jonna was at the NY show on the balcony with Bam during the show.

There are a lot of people who dislike Jonna.

There is an xangaq blog dedicated to the hate to her, wow.

If she hates HIM fans... (the chick half anyway) I could understand.

She's still hot.

Was it originally called "Love Cuts" or is it a play-on-words cause they are small excerpts/cuts from the full album

this stupid sylvie chick pisses the fuck out of me look at all the emails i've gotten from her

Quote
sure he would. when the man he went home with shows up with his cell phone and his credit cards and auctions them off, and tells everybody he went home with ville valo and has proof, what do you think ville is going to say?

Quote
of course, that's how they spread the word around. note, he will tell everyone, press, fans, over and over. this will be the topic of conversation. and why desperate for publicity? because him is not selling in america. he has nothing else to talk about. first week's sales 46,000. second week 18,000. third week 11,000. where is it now?
Quote
ville should be ashamed of this video. not only did it look like an aerosmith video from the beginning, but it is ugly. the people are ugly, the premise is ugly. the woman is a blonde. it is everything HIM is not. the subject matter is file. there is no class, no previous ville, nothing of the original HIM. his parents must know there is something wrong with him. as he allowed warner/sire to release this, he is desperate.
refering to killing loneliness
Quote
of course he's engaged to a woman. if he announced he was engaged to BAM, he wouldn't sell a record in america. and little girls wouldn't fantasize about him. and little girls spend lots of money.
in responce to a comment

Quote
you don't think the vid is abusive to women, that woman taking off her clothes, for who? HIM vids did not usually show women taking off their clothes, did they. doesn't she look ill and like a victim? it's not sexy.

it wouldnt bother me if she wasnt saying the same shit over and over all the time.

Ville Hermanni Valo (born November 22, 1976) is the vocalist, songwriter and frontman of the Finnish love metal band HIM.

Ville Valo was born on the 22nd of November 1976, in Helsinki, Finland at 8.28 AM. His father was a taxi driver at the time of his birth. Valo is half Finnish, half Hungarian. He has a younger brother named Jesse, a Thai boxer.

For the first few months of his life Valo lived with his mother and father in Vallila, surrounded by wooden houses. Soon after his birth the family moved to Oulunkylä and continued to live there for approximately 17 years. Throughout his life animals surrounded the family. Valo reportedly learned to walk using the aid of the family pet dog Sami. When Sami died Valo was devastated, and at this point he is said to have developed allergies and asthma.

Valo's musical roots go deep into his childhood, from when he was a baby. When Valo cried as an infant his father would play Paratiisi by Rauli Badding Somerjoki, and his mother would take him in her arms and dance. At this baby Ville would cease to cry. Old school singer-songwriter from Oulunkylä, Tapio Rautavaara is Valo's biggest idol in Finnish popular music.

In his youth he played instruments such as bass and drums in many bands (Eloveena Boys, Aurora, Charlie Parker, Terapia, Winha, Unga Kaskelottär, Natas, B.L.O.O.D., Kemoterapia, Donits-Osmo Experience) until he, together with friends, formed the band HIM in 1991. He is the vocalist and main lyricist in HIM.

He is also the frontman of the band. He has said in an interview that this is the way the other band members want it to be; they merely want to play their instruments.

Sorry, just felt the need to Rant, I am a Street Team Leader from the US and I am currently in Japan for a bit - ..  well, we're 13 hours ahead of the US, its been Thursday the 6th for over 12 hours in the US, and right now, it is currently the 7th in japan!

geeze.. how long is it going to take HEARTAGRAM to put the friggin club up? ...

Not to mention it is ridiculous how many typos are in the new HEARTAGRAM page... its HORRIBLE :(

The front post says "Club will be up late today" ---- note it was posted on the 3rd... GEEZE...

Hey, this is the BS thread and I felt the need to blurb on how dumb the new site really is
right now.. .. notice the POLL isn't even a POLL - its a TRIVIA QUESTION .. and you need to be a MEMBER to answer it which then reads "registration is FREE" .. and when you click - "register" it takes you to the New Heartagram Club... oiy...

I hope they get a new webmaster soon... geeze...

Anyone else notice all the flaws in the new page?

Love the "Go deeper into the heartagram"s heading ---> "PAGE"!!

any have a scan of the Blender's Issue with Kanye west on the cover and HIM on it?
I have it but have a weird scanner/printing thing.
My favorite part of that Blender Interview is when Valo said he [i skimmed through the interview] he talked to Lohan and then said something along these lines

"I don't understand. Your famous, young, and have all these bodyguards why don't you just give them the fucking keys"

And then in the interview it went on saying how Linde doesn't talk in English only in his native tongue or he just get asked to call someone a bad name.

They called Valo Johnny Depp.

You can change a computers region code. Any computer made for the U.S. will default to region 1, but you can change it to region 2. Why don't you just buy the region 1 Love Metal archives?

Well i'm considering it now. But i've always wanted the two disc just as a collectors type of deal, and also because i'm one of the few who actually likes bam. I guess the video collection that was released has a lot of the same stuff as the second disc in LMAv.1 though. I'm up in the air.

Buy both. Buy the UK one to keep as a collectors item, but then buy the Region 1 DVD to watch. The "Bam" DVD has nothing that you can't find online or on the video collection DVD.

Buy both. Buy the UK one to keep as a collectors item, but then buy the Region 1 DVD to watch. The "Bam" DVD has nothing that you can't find online or on the video collection DVD.

poor college students can't afford both lol. Thats a good idea though, time to start saving my pennies.

any have a scan of the Blender's Issue with Kanye west on the cover and HIM on it?
I have it but have a weird scanner/printing thing.
My favorite part of that Blender Interview is when Valo said he [i skimmed through the interview] he talked to Lohan and then said something along these lines

"I don't understand. Your famous, young, and have all these bodyguards why don't you just give them the fucking keys"

And then in the interview it went on saying how Linde doesn't talk in English only in his native tongue or he just get asked to call someone a bad name.

They called Valo Johnny Depp.
That was my favorite part to. Makes perfect sense to me.

i accidently found out their was a Bam Margera presents Viva La Bands 2, and noticed he actually didn't put HIM on it.  I'm really glad about this, but accept  if there was something never released or along those lines (like Witches and Other Nightfears tracks, lol, i wish)

how peculiar that he didn't put HIM on it. He put a lot of bands that were on the first compilation back onto this second one. I wonder if he just got the idea that ville really didn't like him using the heartagram on the first one, and decided to just not use them at all? Plus, this was released not too long ago and venus doom was just released, similar to the situation with the first compilation and dark light...

I heard on the radio that Ville was given some kind of award for Wings of a butterly (for radio play in US or something).

Also the producers of James Bond theme music contacted Ville in the awards and asked if he wanted to write song for the next Bond movie (instead of Amy Winehouse).

Im not totally sure but that is what I think I heard.

Yeah, he would. I'm not really into the Bond movies, but this would bring the band a great deal of exposure to new audiences.

"They now want Ville Valo of gloom rockers HIM to sing the theme tune to 39-year-old Daniel Craig?s second Bond outing.
Ville, 30, was approached by the Bond team at the BMI Awards dinner at London?s Dorchester Hotel, where he scooped a gong for his hit Wings Of A Butterfly. "

in the chorus.

So Lifelike

what does he say after 'so life-like'?

i was looking for this chick i went to school with on myspace and google.
last name 'Saari'.

ended up at Arto Saari's wikipedia page

he was voted one of the 100 Suuret Suomalaiset (Great Finn's) of all time in 2004 on YLE

on further reading the list.

Ville Valo was voted #13

pretty radical.

I think it's kind of silly of people to dub Ville's 13th position "a joke". It's controversial, sure, but not a joke by any means. He was, after all, included on the original list of 99 nominees put together by a jury of experts. Of course, voting him as the 13th greatest Finn of all time is exaggeration but he definitely deserves his spot on the list, a bit further down though.

When the vote was running many foreign HIM fans knew about it and therefore took part in voting, which explains his high ranking. So, in other words, some of his votes came from people who couldn't name another notable Finn to save their lives. ::)

But in the end, he's not only regarded as "a singer in a band" but also a national pride and joy to an extent. He's no doubt been a key figure in changing the course of Finnish popular music export-wise, so I believe he may well be on a similar list even after the "novelty" is long gone.

I'm getting a custom made design for my new laptop pc. So I'm planing on getting the gold Heartagram from "Love Metal" or just a plain white Heartagram printed on a complete black backside. But I just think it's too simple.. So I need something extra on it... Perhaps a quote from a song, or something.

Burton said in a interview that Heartache is a nice track and maybe they'll play it @ summer festivals. HAHa I'll be dead then when I hear Heartache Every Moment live.

He was also surprised to find out there wasn't anything from DSBH on their setlist atm. So if that's anything to go by, I'd take his words with at least a bucket of salt. ::) As refreshing a change as it would be if they started playing HEM again, I wouldn't hold my breath.

true, if they don't even notice that there are no songs from DS&BH in their setlist at the moment the chance of them playing anything from that album isn't a very big one...it's a shame though, I really like some of the osngs from that album, especially live!

I doubt that's what they meant. It said they will "start work on a new album" after the festivals are done, but it'll probably take a long time before they are ready to actually enter the studio and record it. :) It will take them months just to rehearse the new songs which, to my understanding, are at a very early stage right now. Perhaps they'll be demoing the songs at some point later this year, but it's unlikely for them to record the album until 2009.

The fact that he's already talking about working on the next album surprises me, though. And I mean apart from him writing songs, 'cause that's something he's always doing. I was under the impression that they we're planning to take a fairly long break after the VD stuff was over with (like late 2008 or whatever). Maybe having April and May off changed their plans then.

the one of the right is the reprint in CD-Linja OY, finland (same site choosen by BAM to print the HER 3 track promo that he attached with his decks*?, its not curious? )

original finnish release must not be rare, because our loved band sold 400k on his country, but as they do reprint

another tip about bleed well promos

as i know from previous promotion cds, the euro-german-version of the promos are slightly differents from the ones printed on UK

the euro versions use to have the warner logo printed on the silver side, and better printing quality, more crearly on the euro-german version

i noticed this first with killing loneliness promo, that i got one extra in an auction i wont
and a few days ago i tryed again, buying an cheaper bleed well promo from germany, and i confirmed it, the german printings of those promos have better quality and some small differences

LC03228 text is on cd and artwork from german promo (better printing quality)
ECD blackburn is the printing company of the uk promos (worst printing quality)

Technically, you already have a recording of Rebel Yell in the Singles Collection.
Plus I think if they released Rebel Yell with their next album that it might not fit in with the direction they want to go so it wouldn't feel right to have it on the album.  And it wouldn't be right to release it as a single 'cause it has no relation to VD.

I'd be all for either a newer live version or a proper studio version as a b-side. The fact that they are playing it live again at least means there's a slight chance.
I wouldn't want to see it on a new album, unless it was a special bonus track ala "Poison Heart".

i just had an epiphany, and i recommend you guys try it

i took a HIM cd I don't listen to as much anymore (make sure u take the actual CD, no mp3). in my case it's razorblade romance, and play it ur stereo, car, headphones, or whatever u like to listen to music the most with.

i played it in my headphones on a train this morning, listen to the whole cd, and it was so fucking good. and with all the music i listen to, its nice to go back to one of my favorite cd's ive neglected for a while and just rock out.

of course it doesnt work for people who listen to only HIM 24/7, but if u listen to all types of bands and music, and change songs like 30 seconds into it like me, then it's really nice to try. it was just so great to hear that opening riff of razorblade kiss, which ive been only listening to live version of lately.

some questions will be answered and others well...

Ville's judgment
--I hate talking about my own songs. They're all about women anyway.

I Love You
We thought about this one a lot while we were doing the first album, and we did a million versions of it. We had to record this one just because of the title, because those three words are the beginning of every tragedy. A good intro to the record: short, tight, and hits you in the face. And if anyone who hears Join Me in Death thinks that we are just doing that posing-with-bulges-in-our-too-tight-pants glam thing, this proves that we have some vitality.

Poison Girl
This song is about a certain girl and how you can destroy something beautiful. This isn't a song about hate; it's about asking for forgiveness. All of my songs are about real relationships: there's nothing fake about them. I've never liked building fantasy worlds. The texts are personal therapy, so I'm saving a little money here. Actually I'm making a little.

Join Me in Death
I think this is one of the weaker tracks on the album. The piano is nice, but maybe the song doesn't mean anything to me because it's not about real life. This is an old song-the first demo was done in January '98-and I've already gotten sick of it, because it's just the same simple thing over and over.

Right Here in My Arms
An old song, a back-to-the-eighties Billy Idol rip off. The video could have babes with big tits hanging around backstage. I wanted to get that feeling that you had when the last song was playing at the school dance and you wanted to dance and get close to that girl that you really liked. I didn't get too close very often. So this is my revenge. I have a really fucking bad emotional fixation.

Gone with the Sin
This is one of my favorite tracks-probably for the other guys also. It's not very HIM. It's light and you can find a little country twang in it if you look hard enough. It's a really simple love song, but the cliches have been turned around. It's like a negative version of everything.

Razorblade Kiss
This is a tribute to Kiss and rock and roll. The only track without a real melody. Some German critics said that my voice sounds like early Ozzy on this one. I hadn't thought about it that way myself, and I really got a lump in my throat when I heard all of the positive reactions. Maybe Ozzy's spirit descended on me while I was singing this one in the booth.

Bury Me Deep Inside Your Heart
Depeche Mode meets Roxette. Eighties stadium music, even though it has been done as a rock and roll tune and with the warmth of the nineties. The guitars work well. Goddam, I hate talking about my own songs. Thery're all about women.

Heaven Tonight
My idea of heaven is a little unusual. We're probably in heaven when we're in an airplane. This is a really simple symbolic reference. Heaven is when something happy happens. It could mean getting some pussy or catching a fish or getting a record. Small wishes come true all the time, but in this business there is no heaven there: there's no moment that I can say "I've got it all." That's what makes it interesting.

Death is in Love with Us
The working title of this song was 666 Medley, because we wanted to get evil onto this album too. At first we thought this would be the first cut on the album. It's fast, short, and to the point, but not dark. It says "Baby, it's not our fault if the man with the scythe digs us. If he digs black lips and hair and white skin, it doesn't mean that everything is fucked." This is a goth anthem.

Resurrection
If Bon Jovi had put on goth makeup and done a video, this would have been the result. This is going for the feeling that you get when you've seen a Kiss video for the first time on TV. Sing-along, larger-than-life stadium love-in.

One Last Time
This is totally different from any of those other songs. The idea was that it would be nice to end the album with something a little cheerier. We'll probably never play this on tour. We broke away from the HIM sound for this one. When you listen through all the different things on the album and you get to this at the end, it leaves the future open. It's like, "What the fuck?"

*EDIT*
i dont know if this was ever posted i just found it and thought i would share

Releasing shit just for the sake of it - I vote "no thanks"! I think it's far classier to keep the fans waiting for a bit than putting stuff out every few months. It's only been four months since D.V.D. came out, so I'd rather they take their time with the next album and refrain from releasing anything for a while, to be honest.

I was completely obsessed with the band for about two years.  I hunted for and bought all sorts of shit.  It wasn't easy finding XL size shirts but had the best luck on eBay.  Also, I'm convinced that European XL is NOT the same as an American XL.  They didn't fit the same.

Of course, I was 50lbs heavier then, so...lol, who knows.

specifics matter...

more HIM stuff that you would even imagine....if you even knew it exisited...

Post by: stigmata92 on April 04, 2010, 10:15:58 PM
Why would the band have sounded different if Zoltan left? If anything, Patka leaving the band influenced the band the most. They ended up scrapping most of the RR demos because the drum machine sounded like shit and went with a whole new sound.

Post by: LonelyRoad on April 05, 2010, 01:57:00 AM
well mind you although GLS and RR are different sounding records....they still kept it within the realms of one another...

once zoltan left...hilli did the keys for DSBH...softest album to date...which pretty much set a course for different sounds...

my thing has always been that although GLS - LM are different albums in a major way...a lot of the songs could easily be on one of the other albums without missing a beat...once DL came...its been a whole new nutshell...

idk...just rants i get into my head sometimess.
Title: Re: Random HIM Bullshit
Post by: stigmata92 on April 05, 2010, 10:56:49 AM
I understand what you're saying especially with the songs fitting on each other album.

Also though listen to the Hollovlad Tapes on Uneasy Listening Vol 2 which had Zoltan on keys. The final songs were a little softer but relatively the same except for Pretending which was mainly changed by the producer. The difference between the demos and the actual product wasn't all that different compared to the RR demos and Razorblade Romance.

This is endless rambling, but my point is I really like the dark sounding feel of THTBA and at times feel HIM should have gone that way and may have sounded different now.

agreeeed.

idk...i think THTBA for me is one of those songs that is super cool to finally get to hear...especially since its the only one anyone can get ahold of...

its like...we had 5 albums going on 6...and then all the sudden we get this track from 3 albums ago and we're like "woah wtf..." THTBA to me is an awesome song because its soo different and i hope we fucking get the other songs one day....but i personally think they went the best direction with RR's final product...

haha and yeah this is endless rambling...but this is the "bullshit" thread...so we can ramble the fuck on and on....plus theres really nothing else to talk about haha.

Exactly, I love THTBA and all the early Razorblade Romance song performances, they were so raw and epic compared to the final versions.

That being said, I know if HIM did go that route they probably would not have become that successful because a 5-6 min Join Me would not be that appealing to the mainstream.

More pointless rambling, but if HIM ever re releases a definite version of Razorblade Romance or even DS&BH a couple years down the road, they better include the demos for the songs.

One more random question, how did THTBA get released. I know it was found in random file shares in '04, but does anyone know the person who actually put it on the web? If someone has that song they must have the rest of the demos too.

i have no idea who found it...all i remember is getting it from some "higher" up people haha...and thats all im sayin lol...but idk how the rest of the world got it...nor do i know if the person i got it from actually got it from someone...or if they got it from the same person who leaked it to everyone else...(if that at all made sense...)

i just remember hearing that Ville had all the old demos on his ipod/itunes...i think bam said it or something....

ps.

some dude and his gf are getting heartagram tattoos in the shop right now....i walked out back to find a Skateboarder mag in his car...faggot bamtards...i almost paid my boss for the tattoo and have him not do it...i skate too...but this kid is like newly 18...no way hes into it where he should be....fucking doucher.

*sigh...i will never do one on someone i dont know is 1337 lol...straight up.

LOL, Bam helped HIM a little bit in America, but along with it attracted a whole bunch of dumbass fans. I know a few people who wear Bam shirts with the Heartagram believing that Bam made it up.

As for the demos, someone needs to steal Ville's computer and upload all the songs online.

i dont mind a lot of these random douchers...but...kids like this are just retarded...his only tattoo is officially a giant heartagram on his upper arm...and everytime he walks by my room he like smiles and nods like he wants to come talk to me (i have RR poster hanging up...) and i just walked in the room and he smiles and looks at me wantingly like he wants me to approve...

ps. someone will get ahold of them one day...hopefully on actual cd...hopefully another uneasy will privey some shit.

Yup most likely someone will, btw that kid sounds like a total dumbass. I'm bored so I've been looking through some singles I had and found some interesting things (to me at least).

The date for the Berlin gig everywhere is wrong, on my single it was 2/29/00 not 3/29/00.

Both Salt In Our Wounds (Thulsa Doom Version) and Lose you Tonight (Caravan Version) were the final versions of each song for DS&BH before Kevin Shirley took over and changed them.

I know it's useless but still...

my boss decided it would be funny to come show me the tattoo he was doing...

heres what happend...

izzy - "hey. nick wanna check out the heartagram."

me - "i guess."

izzy smiles and shakes his head

the kid turns to show me his freshly PURPLE heartagram tattoo...smiles and stares.

me - "cool."

kid - "do you have one?"

me - "nope. just this stupid heart on my wrist."

kid - "yeah i thought about getting that too."

me - "dont. its stupid. everyone has it."

kid - "oh..."

5 min later i walk back into my room...cleaning up my station, he stands at the door...just standing...i ignored him for as long as i could...then he finally speaks.

kid - "whered you get that poster?"

me - "where...or when?"

kid - "both...im sure its from a long time ago."

me - "yeah, i got it like 10 years ago. its one of the originals before hot topic started selling it."

kid - "yeah i figured."

(mind you it has a GREAT BIG Bravado logo at the bottom...no0bs...)

kid - "yeah i have the vinyl of that one. its the closest thing i have to that poster. its hanging on my wall..."

me - "yeah that hot topic shit isn't worth a damn. but cool."

kid - "yeah...."

me - "yup...kthxbye."

end.

he wanted so much my approval...*sigh...

poor kid. doesnt even have a clue.

Speaking of that poster, I think I have a bunch of HER ones left over...maybe a contest to give some away?  They're slim, not as wide as a regular poster.

I have a couple of those Razorblade Extractions promos too...and maybe (Not sure) about the HER Join Me promos...I really have no need to hoarde them.

And no, I don't really want to trade them, I don't want anything in return.  I just want to give them away...any contest ideas, let me know.

I went to collect my parents from their Catholic pilgrimage wearing reflecting sunglasses and listening to Ville singing about sweet six six six, violating people in the most sexual way and his cock made outta platinum. While elderly people around me were waiting to see the pilgrims sing their Hail Marys. It was a bit ridiculous but made me happy :D

You people need to post more Random HIM Bullshit.

There is a German thriller, called WhoAmI (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3042408/), about a group of hackers that accidentally become prime suspects in the murder of a fellow hacker. (It's great, by the way, I really do recommend it.)
Anyway, one of the guys is a bit of a psycho, so of course he has some tattoos. And what do we find on his chest?

(http://fs2.directupload.net/images/150816/temp/u8n2g9bh.jpg) (http://www.directupload.net/file/d/4081/u8n2g9bh_jpg.htm)

It actually fits his character. I already liked him before since he's pretty crazy, but I now imagine him listening to RR and it's fantastic :D

I may start a separate thread on this at some point (once I have some more fully-formed ideas on the subject), but I'm really interested in discussing/analyzing Ville's songwriting and recurring lyrical motifs. I read this old (but really insightful and good) article today where Ville discusses their process a bit, and wanted to share in case anyone hasn't seen this interview: http://www.songfacts.com/blog/interviews/ville_valo_of_him/ (http://www.songfacts.com/blog/interviews/ville_valo_of_him/)

Thanks for sharing!
I hadn't read this and it is indeed pretty interesting.
Not sure though if I wanted to tear apart lyrics. It definitely can be very interesting and enhance the musical experience but I feel that dissecting lyrics can also disenthrall and demystify them. I have to admit that I like to listen to pretty words without thinking too much about deeper meanings. And as for HIM, the lyrics often are figurative or metaphorical, together with the musical aspects they create emotions strong enough for me to not to try to understand how they're meant literally.
Then again it can be really interesting, like the background of the term 'under the rose' that KissTheVoid posted somewhere. But no looking into recurring lyrical motifs for me for now. I might have some sudden realizations somewhere in the distant future though xD

Sounds like a great idea. If you took any time to look around the boards you'd probably notice that I'm kinda the 'lyrics guy' around here... Figuring out and analyzing the lyrics is the first things I do when I hear some new material.

And I might fall into the analyzing hole with you. I loved analyzing poems in school.

So years ago, as far back as probably '05-06 I purchased a few HIM screenprints. Never got any of them framed because it was far too expensive. Fast forward in my life a few years, I became somewhat of an art collector. Earlier this year, I finally got a job that gave me the financial ability to go and properly frame my backlog of old prints. So here ya'll go! I hope you enjoy

Man is it quiet in here. It's like 2008 all over again. Speaking of 2008, there's a new vinyl rip of the 2008 version of Razorblade Romance over on RuTracker, as well as the remastered reissue of Love Metal. Just a heads up for those of you here who are into that sort of thing. I grabbed them both, but I haven't had a chance to listen to them yet so I can't vouch for their quality. If I had to guess, they were taken from what.cd, so if anyone here has an active account there and a large enough ratio, you know exactly what to do. 8)

Yeah, it's been quiet. And I use RuTracker and downloaded that Love Metal rip. That rip had a bit of cracking, (I mean the vinyl noise) but there is an other Love Metal rip from the ALSN box set in 96khz that sounds perfect :P BTW what is "what.cd"?

Stick around and just be friendly and active and I may just share a few things or you just may catch me in a giving mood one day. They are special to me and the only way they can remain special is by sharing with those I really trust and respect. I don't want it flooded all over the net... these things take a lot of work and my equipment wasn't exactly cheap either. Love Metal alone took me 14 hours from start to finish.

I'll tell you what, I'll let you pick any song that is available on vinyl and I will share it with everyone.

I know. I just feel that it doesn't matter anymore what I download because I have done that too much. But the same time I think that almost the whole world does that... And of course there is Youtube and Spotify and everything, but their quality suck.

I love and appreciate HIM since my teen days, around 2002, so I have many memories and own opinions about HIM, and of course it's nice to be active in a forum, but I don't really like to socialize and it's hard for me to express myself in English. Well, uploads don't require to talk too much, so I will try to upload some goods in the future.

Anyway, thank you very much for your kindness.

I'm ok with a sweet candy like any of these two: The Heartless (ACSTC Pascha MMXIV) or Lose You Tonight (Hollola Tapes).

It's headphones and an amp... these aren't just any headphones. These are electrostatic headphones... there's no magnets or diaphragm, instead it's manipulates tiny sheets of vaporized platinum to move back and forth to deliver the best possible sound from 8hz all the way up to 100,000hz and the lowest distortion ever measured in a sound reproduction system: 0.01% at 1 kHz, 100 dB SPL. It's impossible for human hearing to hear exactly how good they are because they are literally beyond human comprehension. The entire unit contains 6,000 hand build components and takes an entire day to build.

Does anyone happen to know whatever happened to that Sticky Finnvox promo that was on eBay a little while back? It had a 5.1 mix of In Joy And Sorrow on it. Dude wanted $300 for it. Went unsold and got re-listed at least a couple of times. I don't think it ever ended up selling on eBay, but I have to wonder if anyone ever ended up making a private deal with the guy for less. Anyone see someone showing it off on any of the collection pages on Facebook or anything like that? I was tempted to make an offer, but I definitely wasn't going to pay very much for it, let alone over a hundred dollars more than I paid for my copy of 666 Ways To Love.

Well Ville said on radio yesterday that they're gonna start practicing the songs to "studio shape" at this year's autumn and all record label things are gonna take so long. So he said the album will be out next year's autumn.
Title: Re: Random HIM Bullshit
Post by: 616 on May 22, 2016, 04:21:25 AM
Well practicing song to studio versions - yeah that will take some time to figure out the final versions - so at this point they already have a demo of it. Autumn - still writing process, then recording ,mixing, mastering , well i can imagine that the album could be out in February 2017 or March 2017 in a normal label, i dont know what will take another months for the label to release it.... seriously fuck that kind of lousy label

off topic : Any possible word of Daniel Lioneye? Or news (not from Ville on the radio) ? anyone?

Short recap of the radio thingy (https://www.facebook.com/HIMNorway/posts/1085185994872592) (HIM Norway's facebook page)

"Apparently they want to bring something new to the table since Tears on Tape was a bit of a retrospective album in sense of sound and style."
This makes some of you quite happy/hopeful, I think?

I don't really mind waiting for a new album. I just want the guys to take their time and do the best they can. Some news and updates along the way would be nice but I'm not very optimstic xD

In other news, I worked on my love-hate relationship with the beautiful mess that the lovely Finnish language is to me a bit more and this happened.

Disclaimer: This is about 1% actual language knowledge, 49% shameless abuse of wiktionary and other assorted dictionaries, and 50% mostly guessing what this could mean. So, best case a pretty loose translation, worst case completely misinterpreted.
Read at your own risk, corrections very welcome (including attempts at explaining Finnish grammar, if you want to!)
If something doesn't make sense, that's most likely because either my understanding of the original sentence was quite shaky or because I couldn't put into proper English what I understood or believed to understand xD

Ville Valo avautui juomisestaan: "Kummastakin päästä tuli verta jatkuvasti" (http://www.iltasanomat.fi/viihde/art-2000001183029.html)

Ville Valo opens up about his drinking: "From both ends came blood constantly"

Detoxification
HIM's frontman, rocker Ville Valo, thinks back and tells Radio Rock's Laura Vähähyyppä how he eventually ended up commited for detoxification.
HIM's Ville Valo was never really one to abstain from alcohol. In 2007 Valo eventually ended up commited for detoxification.
"I bled from the butt and the mouth, from both ends came blood constantly. I thought that this wasn't a terribly good thing. I went to the doctor and s/he said that now I had to rest," Valo tells Radio Rock's Laura Vähähyyppä during the interview.
Listen to the interview in the video above.
However, Valo doesn't believe that he was the worst drinker or that alcohol was the only reason why he started treatment. According to him, the situation which led to the detoxification also had to do with mental fatigue and malady due to work and his personal life: Valo's long term relationship had recently hit the rocks.
"I personally believe that... at that time I drank quite a lot, but I never got by worse. At that time I also had a lot do to with depression and stress, mental problems," ponders Valo.
"Many negative issues came up at the same time and I just had to manage: make a record, go to the studio every day. When it becomes a compulsion, it has been long enough, everything brakes at some point or you find a way to control it. I didn't find a way except for beer. At some point, body and brain just say that's enough"
Valo asked manager Seppo Vesterinen to search a place for him where ho could rest and keep his mobile completely turned off and stay completely out of reach.
"I can never stop soon enough, it has always had good and bad sides to it," says Valo.
Ville Valo asked to be commited for detoxification in the middle of HIM's tour through the U.S. in May 2007. He spent one month in Californian Promise Rehab.
Ville Valo will be a guest at Radio Rock's Lauantain kuokkavieras show on saturday, 21st May, 12 noon.

I had a nice surprise encounter with a fellow HIM fan today!
I was wearing the Helldone 2014 shirt when heading to the gym and one of the staff apparently recognized the Heartagram. The following conversation emerged:

"Hey, nice shirt!"
"Umm, thanks...!"
"'cause I..." *proceeds to pull up shirt and point to 3inch Heartagram tattoo on side of chest* "have the same one!"

I was slightly caught off guard by the random public disrobement but otherwise it was pretty nice :D

When I was in highschool, I used to listen to HIM a lot. You could say I was a bit obsessed. After I started being into him, everybody else started to do the same. But at the beginning they thought it was odd. They called me a satanist ROFL!
The school principle called my mom and told her I was scaring the kids XD We both laughed about it.

The truth is that I was messing a bit with them, by doing the satanist hand gesture, but never seriously. The joke was on them. It's so funny though that wearing black band t shirts and listening to HIM could label you a "satanist". That reminds me of Ozzy and how people really believed his "satanic" stuff. It's fun to watch people get agitated by things you do for fun ^^

Yesterday I plugged my 1TB Seagate USB hard drive into my Samsung Galaxy S6 and guess what, it formatted the whole drive. It was "empty". That hard drive contains all of my HIM stuff and Michael Jackson bootlegs (total 898gb). I was shocked and found a program from the internet which can recover files from corrupted hard drives. I left it scanning for night and it actually found all my files! This morning I bought a 2TB Seagate where I can copy and recover the files... 12GB/898GB completed... Thank god...

It's not so much the capacity, it's the type of media it uses for it's storage. I will never recommend an external/portable drive that has moving parts (an actual hard drive with platters and stuff) cause that's just something that can easily break. Flash drives have never failed me though... Ever!

Actually I have burned most of my HIM DVDs to discs. There are about 25. But MJ stuff would need more 7GB DVDs :P And some of them are even double DVDs and there is so much that it could take forever. But yeah my recovery software is still running. It has copied 470 GB to the other drive now.(Yes it's slow...) HIM stuff is now safe, only the rest to go. I'll have to wait about a day.

I know all too well how it feels to lose your HIM bootleg collection.:'( All that time spent trading, downloading, editing, organizing, ect. for them to just go up in smoke - literally, in my case. I could spend a day going through the media section on here and re-downloading each show that I lost, which I've done before (more than once, actually) but it's just not the same since I had a bunch of lossless versions of shows that you just can't find anywhere anymore and I'm really anal about that stuff. Sorry Jay for all those times I ate up all of the site's bandwidth building my collection back up only to delete everything afterwards. Nowadays I just have a small handful of bootlegs that I consider personal essentials and I'm perfectly fine with that, although I would like to eventually get back the few lossless 2004 US shows there were because memories. It's been several years and still no luck on that front.

I'm glad you were able to recover your files in the end. I have an external hard drive for things that I want to keep but take up too much space on my laptop, but I also burn DVDs of the stuff that I really don't want to get lost just in case.

Probably the worst part of collecting bootlegs is renaming all the folders the same way because it takes too much time :P For example my way:

That's exactly how I would name the albums in iTunes for the live shows I had on there. I would also do the date like that with the year first after the song, so like: Buried Alive By Love (Live: XXXX:XX:XX) so it would be easy to distinguish between multiple different versions if I had to.

By the way, did anyone see what was recently added to the "Backstage Collection" page on Facebook? CD promos of the entire Lashes To Ashes box set, including second discs for the bonus tracks and the 666 Ways To Love EP. LOL. Anyone wanna buy a copy or two? Just give him an arm and a leg, as well as a few days to print up another batch. I want mine personalized! :P

Ville to make guest appearance (alongside the likes of Martin Gore, Gary Numan, Evi Vine, and Julianne Regan) on The Mission's 30th anniversary album, Another Fall From Grace, to be released September 30 2016: http://teamrock.com/news/2016-08-13/the-mission-to-release-another-fall-from-grace-in-september (http://teamrock.com/news/2016-08-13/the-mission-to-release-another-fall-from-grace-in-september)

Edit: Forgot to include the best part! (I guess he sings backup vocals, because I couldn't really pick out his voice, honestly, which is surprising to me)

You can really hear him shine through at about the 4:00 mark. What a cool song! This definitely has my interest piqued about The Mission's new album, although I've never been much into their older stuff.

Glad to see there's interest! Okay, I'm writing up something that's going to be pretty long and does require research on my part, so it'll take a while. Once I get my thoughts organized, I'll post it in a new thread and anyone else who is interested in trying their hand at lyrical analysis can join in.

Remember when I talked about doing this? Well, I didn't get very far. I definitely wanna dive in again at some point, but here's where I'm at so far: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B4j1UucCCd7lekgxeWl5MTVrUHc

So I guess I kinda made a new HIM fan accidentally? xD

Had to introduce myself to her a few months back and talked to her about music and shit, saying I was going to see this band for the last time coz they'd split up. Only saw her a couple of times since then and yesterday she was all like 'so yeah I downloaded all their abums and holy shit I new Join Me from the radio and when I listened to it and recognized it I was in the car and started fucking bawling my eyes out??' I was so suprised why do people check out the stuff that I like this is weird xD

Anyway sounded like she really liked it. Don't be mean because Join Me. Not everyone gets into the ~obscure songs first. I almost want to apologize for getting her into them while they're on Farewell tourxD

That HIM wiki page was an interesting read. I wonder how much of it is accurate.  Especially the tracks on dark light that weren't released . "Bound to Be Wrong" sounds like a good song title

I just got back from checking out the HIM Collectors Facebook page to see what's been going on this past while, if anything. I haven't listened to the band in forever. I thought that maybe I'd finally reached a point in my life where I simply didn't care about them anymore. Well, I was wrong, because something there definitely piqued my interest, to say the least, and pulled me right back in like I'm a giddy teenager in 2004 again.

Does anyone know what this Greatest Lovesongs pre-production CD someone mentioned they have as one of their rarest items is?

Immediately I thought back of the time when I saw a couple of people talking about having Greatest Lovesongs rough mixes, but didn't think a whole lot of it because it seemed like they were just joking around and having some fun teasing others. But now...

That would be pretty amazing, to put it mildly, if it's an actual recording of the band at the studio going through their songs for the album live (and maybe some that didn't even make it, perhaps?) before the recording process officially began.

Or it could just be some sort of test pressing of the digipak before they went into full production. That would be a whole lot less cool.

I tried messaging the dude about it, but I doubt I'll get a response because I've never gotten one from him before about anything, as per the usual with this sort of stuff - sigh.

To be perfectly frank, I'm not even entirely sure why I even inquire about this kind of stuff anymore because even if someone answers yes and confirms my suspicion, it's not like anything is going to change from how it was before. I guess I just like knowing that this stuff is out there somewhere floating around, and maybe one day it'll wash ashore on the public beach of HIM fandom from the private island it originated from and the rest of us will get our chance to hear it.

Got a message later on in the day from the owner of the aforementioned Greatest Lovesongs CD confirming my suspicion on what it could be.

He claims not to have listened to it yet, though - which I must admit in the effort of being my normal fully transparent and outspoken self - very strange to say the least, especially because I don't think that this is an item that he just received yesterday or something like that. He's had it much longer than I would be able to resist the urge of listening to it for, that's for sure, but maybe there's something wrong with me. There probably is. :)

I understand being cautious about handling something as valuable as that considering what it is/what he likely went through to get it and paid for it/what he could probably get out of it if he ever were to sell it to anyone, but damn. You have unreleased HIM material right at your fingertips and you aren't even interested enough in what it is to make the time to listen to it?

With all due respect to man, I can't figure out a reason to even own the CD at that point if you're just going to let it sit around like it's a simple and boring Wings Of A Butterfly single or something like that which you bought just to add another tally onto the collection total, you know?

I'd be so paranoid about something bad happening to the disc or just the natural decay process occurring that the very first thing I would do is rip it to lossless and save it several times over on different things just in case something causes it to no longer play.

Knowing my luck, though, I'd wind up scratching the hell out of it because I'd be shaking and sweating trying to get it into any sort of player I could find to hear it immediately once I first held it in my hands, but I'd still feel happy about hearing brand new HIM material that few have ever gotten the chance to even if I fucked it all up in the midst of my haste.

I tried asking about a tracklisting and if he knew what the material consisted of despite not hearing it yet, but those questions were overlooked during our conversation and I learned nothing new about what the CD is other than that it was supposed to have been previously owned by Ville himself.

That's cool and all, but aren't the songs the real prize, and don't you want to hear them? How can you be so cool, calm, and collected about it when you have in your possession a CD of the band in the studio from before they officially started recording their first album? There could be any number of things on that disc. But even if not, and it turns out that the band is playing very straight and dry and to what the final album versions wound up being (and even that is still awesome!) don't you want to find that out?

To each their own, but HIM fans can be very weird at times, with all due respect. The concept of someone having something like that and being in absolutely no rush to listen to it is completely foreign to me. I get that at the age we're all at now, HIM isn't exactly the most important thing in our lives anymore, but if I'm assuming that you had to go out of your way to find something like that and convince someone to give/sell you it and you're obviously a fan of the band... It just doesn't make any sense to me.

I could tell that the dude (however nice he was) wasn't exactly interested in talking to me to begin with outside of confirming that he did have the CD and what it was, and was getting pretty tired of me, a random stranger trying to talk HIM with him, so I politely said goodbye and that was the end of that. I took the cues and I was out of there, even though could've come up with plenty of more questions for the poor guy that had to tolerate me showing my excitement for something - which rarely occurs for me these days with anything else, sadly, but HIM always manages to do it somehow.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it, so you can go ahead and add it to the list of things that hopefully someday someone is nice enough to show pity for the rest of us and shares so that we can all enjoy listening to this unreleased music from our favorite band together.

Until next time, bye for now and thank you for your call.

First and foremost I hit the report button on accident due to me typing this on a phone, so pardon that mistake.  Now, getting on to that topic, why not offer the guy some $$ just to see what he says? I mean if I came across someone who had something that rare, I'd just kind of ask just to see what they say. I'll gladly ask if youd like. Hell, I'd even cough up a few bucks if he said yes and ship you the original as long as I had a copy. Physical discs scare me. I'm more of a digital guy

I sent you a PM, sir.

Truthfully, I just can't ever being myself to ask people for things like that most of the time. It's a whole anxiety and self-confidence issue that I'll spare everyone the details of lol. I know that this is going to sound silly to most, but it's like I'm talking to a girl that's way out of my league and there's no way that she'll ever say yes to going on a date with me, so why even bother to ask and have to deal with the disappoint of rejection afterwards and shit and make the whole thing awkward when you can have a positive chat and just leave it at that, you know?

I basically ask without ever really asking. I show off my knowledge and enthusiasm for something during the conversation in hopes that someone will pick up on the fact that I really want to have whatever it is that we're talking about and just offer to share it with me as one fan to another helping each other out, but you know...

Plus it seemed obvious to me that this dude wasn't really interested in having a conversation with me about anything lol. He definitely wanted me to know that he owned the CD, but his responses were very short and to the point and he side-stepped all of my questions asking for details about the album, so I figured I'd just leave the guy alone since it seemed like that was what he wanted. Maybe I read the whole situation wrong and he was just trying to play it cool and not come across as excited as I was about it for whatever reason because the way he was talking was as if it wasn't really anything all that special and was just yet another piece of his collection that he owned. I felt like he was more concerned with and proud of the CD being previously owned by Ville supposedly than the actual content on it since he hasn't even gotten around to listening to it yet. I mean, that's fine I guess, but it seems unbelievable to me as the fan that I am that someone could own something like that and not immediately want to hear what's on it.

I even brought up the Kafferi demos thinking that well maybe he wouldn't be opposed to sharing those with me if he has them since I made it well known how excited all of this stuff makes me, but no dice. He told me that they'll probably leak eventually, which is true, but that lead me to believe that he won't be the one to share them with anyone, at least with someone that he doesn't know like myself, sadly.

I mean, I get that this guy doesn't know me from a hole in the wall, but that's never made a difference to me when it comes to helping someone out whenever and however I can. What does a man have to do to make friends or whatever it takes with these people who seem to share these things with one another other than being a longtime fan of the band that has a deep love and appreciation for their music, on top of just being a genuinely nice person? If there's some sort of entry fee or union dues, I'll gladly pay it if it means I too can hear all of this music that I (and we all) love.

And it's not like there's even dozens of people beating down the doors to hear this stuff. Only a small group of fans even care about this sort of thing, so there has to be room in the group for one more dedicated fan. Most of the people that have followed the band for years and years and have spent literally thousands of dollars on their collections and supporting them like I have don't even seem interested. I guess every fan is different and that's OK, but I want to hear everything there is to hear. I'll take an unreleased song over a rare promo that does nothing for me any day.

Even as a teenager I've never cared about getting close to the band or the people involved with them - going backstage and meeting them or getting their autographs and things like that. It's always been just about the music for me. I don't particularly care about the people in the band themselves. They could be robots and it wouldn't make any difference to me, but the music that they all create together is magical. I feel like if maybe people knew about that about me or could see it somehow and they knew that I'm just this regular nice dude who has spent over half of his life loving this band, maybe they'd see a kinship there and throw me a bone. Or maybe not lol.

This person named perlame1 on YouTube about 6-7 years ago I was told by them they had a copy that was personally given to them by someone and that it was too dear to them to share with me at the time since I haven?t been able to get in contact with them or anyone that might have a copy of you look them up they have a few seconds of scared to death in almost excellent quality then the full version in not so great quality

There?s also a clip of foreboding sense by someone else and I?m sure someone?s tried to contact them in the past, I can?t figure out how to message people on YouTube anymore (no sure if it doesn?t work on the app or they got rid of it) to try and get in contact with someone

The latest rumor I heard was of someone saying that they saw or someone told them that someone on Facebook or one of those sites claimed to have a Katherine Wheel demo, and perhaps maybe another song as well, I can't remember.

alright as this is general section of random stuff i will post that here

guys, with all the respect i have to HIM, to the community, to this page and to the people from this page i wanna thank you for everything. I got to the point when i dont care about internet, HIM and collecting anymore - to be honest - AT ALL. I managed to achieve some splendid things and i was lucky enough to get a lot of shits i mean a LOT.
My life changed, i changed and as you noticed am not visiting this page often and i am not active as i used to be before. Sometimes i delete some spam robots when they appeared but i am not an active member of HIM community anymore.

HIM faded from my life completely, i dont even have anything at home. I packed everything and stored it in the basement. Yeah with the certain content it is a pitty. But at one point when i will move or i will need a space in the basement (i live in a flat, not a house, and the basement is like VERY SMALL.... i will eventially send everything to someone just to pass the torch so the archives wont be lost, deleted..... i will need to ask Ville before but so far i think he will be OK if it will not be in bad hands

so guys it was a pleasure, i will eventually log in just to see if there are not some spam posts to be deleted but dont ask me to reupload, upload something as i currently have and not have it.
i am still on my email daily, friends have it so whenever you wanna chat about random sport bullshit or what feel free, but HIM is a history and i dont wanna be disturbed by the demos, bootlegs and versions.

See you all and thank you

Bye. Say hello to “Ville” for me. Hopefully he's ok about that passing of the the torch, unlike that anonymous guy who got all pissed off that one time that you said you were going to share some things. You might wanna ask him first or else you'll probably be in for a world of trouble that you never intended on and it will surely ruin your retirement. And while you're at it, give my love to Elvis as well, please.

I am confused, though. If I may --- I remember you saying before that the material you have was probably given to you with the knowledge of Ville and the guys and their blessings for you to have it. But before it sounded like it was only a theory, with no actual contact between yourself and any of the band members to say for certain that they have bestowed upon you these gifts themselves, just people close to them passing certain things onto you. Have you confirmed that since then seeing as you say that you will speak directly to Ville? And if so, why do you think that his attitude in sharing will be changed now due to your retirement? I'm sorry, I'm just a world of questions today. You know how into the band's music I still am, though, and I may never get the chance to ask you these things ever again and I'm curious. You understand.

On a serious note, though, I truly do hope that life treats you well, and I wish you the best of luck with everything from this day forward. I remember you as a naive young lad when you first signed up to these boards spamming every thread asking for a re-upload of bootlegs and not knowing a lot about the band's history and material only just a few short years ago. And now you're...this. The man with so much unreleased material that it will blow your mind and personal friends with Ville Valo himself! Godspeed, my man. May your next favorite band treat you as well as this one has.  ;) ;) ;)

I call dibs on Mige's pubes. Everyone else can back the fuck off. They're mine!

As a wise man once told me in regards to finding those who are close to the band with things to share, “Don't look to Canada, look to Finland.” Here I was thinking that I was on the right track scouring the entire state of Louisiana for people with unreleased material. I wasn't even close! It makes sense, though, since the band is from Finland, that they might have friends there who have some stuff. I'm such a dummy. Why couldn't I put two and two together? It all seems so obvious now. Thanks, wise man! You know who you are. Honestly, that one really fucked my head up. I'm still trying to figure out if they were being serious or if it was an Andy-Kaufman-level troll job - because, well...duh.

Hi everyone!

I didn´t knew where should I talk about this...  ::)

HIM Chronik Band 1... Any of you bought this from Sonic Seducer last December? I think there was an interview with Ville about his future as a musician and some other things. It would be good if anybody could share it with us  :)

Thank you!

I have both of them (they're actually from 2015 and 2017 though xD) so I could scan them for you.
The first one ends with a review of TOT, so I assume you mean an interview from the second one. There's only one article about post-TOT stuff that I translated when it was published 5 years ago :')

I posted it here on the forum (http://thesacrament.net/forum/index.php?topic=6759.msg145123#msg145123). If you want a scan of the original German from the book lmk!

Edit: Just now saw the Chronik you're talking about - it's the first one but ~updated with more interviews and shit. Sadly, I don't have that one :(

I was listening to The Heartless on GLSV666 "Remastered" and noticed something faint and familiar in the interlude, under the keys and drums. The vocals of the 666WTL version of The Heartless are buried in there! Has this always been there or is it just more prominent in the remaster?
