We have a CD review thread, so why not movies?
-
I guess I'll do Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I thought it got off to a slow start at first, but once they got into the factory Johnny Depp was great. It was pretty damn funny too. I can see why people think he based his character off of michael jackson. It's definatley worth seing.
-
I just saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory also, I thought it was so much better than the original movie. Burton did a great job with it. I recomend it.
-
Ive yet to see it, im proberly gonna go see it with some friends, its not even out over here yet.
-
It was awesome. I'm suprised no one has mentioned the parody of 2001. That was fuckin' hillarious!!! Having the chocolate bar as the obelisk was just genius! I've never read the book so does anyone know how close it is to the book?
-
I saw Wedding Crashers today, and it was pretty damn funny. Owen Wilson didn't do as well as he usually does, but Vince Vaughn was hilarious. Will Ferrell had a little cameo in it as well.
-
The Devils Rejects...was....awesome....
It's one of the most violent movies I've ever seen. It's not even that much of a horror movie.
-
the seed of chucky is horrible!!!!! why am i watching this? ::)
-
ha ha, arent they all cheezy?
-
" i am Chucky, the killer doll and i fucking dig it.." :P
-
<--------backing down :o
-

-
Just saw ''Hide and seek'' damn its a great movie! best I've seen in a while, deffinite 5/5! I really wasnt expecting what happened!
-
I just (finally) saws the seed of chucky and i must saw that i was very impressed 2 thumbs way way up
-
I only watched the beginning of The Seed Of Chucky, but I didn't like what I watched.
-

American History X is my favourite movie of all time.
-
i want to see the devils rejects.
-
If you are into Stupid movies I recommend that you go see 40 Year Old Virgin. Ironic enough I went to see it last week with my friend who is a desperate virgin. After the movie he started asking constant questions about him "talking to GIRLS!" (Ooh lah lah!). He managed to get on my nerves asking about stupid things.
OY!
-
you know, i actually know a 40 year old virgin...yes, they do exist! hahahahahaha! ::)
i want to see this movie.
-

that movie is amazing
and jose this the movie is anti-racism
American History X is my favourite movie of all time.
-
i watched that movie for the first time two weeks ago. i like how they made it so during the movie it just has all these flashbacks. the ending was sad i thought. i enjoyed it. it was very deep. the guy got nominated for an oscar i believe.
-
I watched the new Hellraiser movie (Hellworld) last nite and I must say that I was greatly disappointed in the movie. releasing 2 movies in the same year was a very bad idea. :'(
-
I only watched the beginning of The Seed Of Chucky, but I didn't like what I watched.
More comedy than "horror".
The movie I rate... Cry Baby, with Johnny Depp. I rate this movie a 10/10. Iggy did good, Johnny Did good, as well as the big lady who is now skinny and has her own tv talk show. Oh Yeah Ricki Lake.
I love this movie.

Glad you got the point of the movie.
-
The Fog
Worst movie I have seen in a long time. Don't waste your money. The ending is rediculously terrible. I have never stood up at the end of the movie and yelled "Oh come on!" before.
-
I know it's an older movie, but I think everyone should go out and watch The Labyrinth. David Bowie does a wonderful job and the little characters here and there are cute.

no i wasn`t... that`s the truth i like the guy and i was checking if somebody like him as well.... sorry... i guess that`s why you delete almost all of my messages. :(
-

+1 to you!
it IS a fantastic movie, I have it on DVD deffinietally on of my faves, never get bored with it, anybody who has seen and liked Labyrinth should have a look out for Dark Crystal(and vice versa), equally as fantastic but its all puppets through this movie, from 1984 I think, Labyrinth from 1986,
both movies would be nothing without the wonder that is conceptual artist Brian Froud, anyone who has seen either of these movies and liked them has too look out for his Goblin and Faery books.
-
the worst movie i`ve ever seen it`s carrie
-
which version??
ive seen 3 diff versions, the original (great film, books even better)
sky one version and this otehr one, the sky one version was okay bug the other one was shit
-
the worst movie i`ve ever seen it`s carrie
I thought it was ok, They really did cut a lot out from the book, pretty much the first half. Stephen King is REALLY long winded so I can kind of see why.
Carrie 2 was kind of bad, Ive seen it tons of times though, it always seems to be on TV.
Did anyone else notice the Similarities between Rose Red & Carrie? I know they are both by King, but come on. Alot of the stuff from the book (Carrie) that was cut out was in the Rose Red movie.
-
has anybody seen that 50 cent movie? i just got a watermarked copy and want to get the low down before i watch it also got watermarked copies of other movies cuz im cool like that
-
Yeah, I loved it.
It sucks how he got shot up and shit.
-
Everyone has their own opinions.
-
I think its funny and he deserves to get shot for being a drug peddling criminal.
He should have died the first time he got shot. Yes I hate him.
-
Ian you wouldnt survive one minute in the ghetto dude seriously it's obvious that you have never had to hustle your way for food and to stay alive
-
i agree with you dude but put yourself in the shoes of this guetto kids this our their hero's they see it this way if 50 cent who got shot up 9 times 1 or 2 times in the face could survive to become one of the most succesful rappers of this time then they can do it to i mean the kid was a millionare by the age of 21 when his first record came out
-
I am not a big rap fan, but I love 50's music.
Pretty good and he has that "boring" voice.
-
The kids could also see it as "Oh fity cent had to deal drugs and what not, I better go deal to get street cred."
Thats just my opinion, I could be wrong.
-
That movies has crazy i liked it i dont know why people think its too violent. The kids mom got killed rapped and burned when he was young had to live with his grandparents. its a nice film people would understand 50 more if they watched this film. Something funny i liked was that he is a Rick James fan that right there is a hard mother fucker.
-
Yeah, he kept a picture of Rick James for like 10 years... lol.
But god... the editing they must have went through when they executed the "shot" scene.
-
i just watched Mr. and Mrs. Smith the other night. i thought it was a good movie and Anjelina looked just as hot as ever! ;D
-
I just watched batman begins for like the fourth time a couple of days ago. If anyone is looking for a good rental or purchase i highly recommend this one, fuck what you thought you knew about the more recnt titles in the series, this one is a fresh start for the series, ( as implied by the title) and if the first is any indication the next ones will be awesome.
The star-studded cast delivers, and the story is well developed, especially interesting is the origins of how batman came to be, where he got his gadgets and how he gained his skills.
-
I know this is an old movie but if anyone here hasnt seen it i highly suggest you go rent monty python and the holy grail.
-
yea definitely - also Life of Brian that one is hilarious too
-
I just saw Hostel and it sucked. The gore was alright, but there wasn't a lot at all. I don't know how people could have had mental breakdowns or whatever they were saying about the pre-release screanings. It wasn't scary at all, they tried to raise the suspense, but nothing ever came. I would not recommend going to see it at all. Very disappointing

Really? I thought it was a good movie. During "the eye" scene the whole theater gasped.
The idea of an underground group paying to torture (Americans are the most expensive) was pretty crazy.

Pretty grindcore.

I don't want to spoil it for you or anyone, but it involves a blowtorch and ends in an "eyegasm". :D

-
Yeah, sort of. I could PM you and give details if you want.
yessssss plzzzzzzzzz
-
i watched:
the 40 yr old virgin - really funny in the beginning, then it got slow then it was cool again
the devil's rejects - eh...the gore was good, especially when the chick got hit by a truck.
-
i just watched Mr. and Mrs. Smith the other night. i thought it was a good movie and Anjelina looked just as hot as ever! ;D
Damm, that part with her in the black corset! I think I enjoyed that more than my man...lol
-
i saw underworld evolution last weekend. It was kick ass. way better than the first one. And in this one you see kate beckinsale naked :o
-
just saw annapolis, it was pretty rad. just showed a guy struggling to make his own in the accademy after his whole life was givin to him. (cliche' story line i know) i thought it was more of a boxing movie though...the main conflicts were resolved by a boxing tournament
-
I watched a little bit of When a Stranger Calls. I hated the movie. It was soooo annoying in the beginning, the girl in the movie annoyed me the most. When it got towards the middle-end I couldn't handle watching it because I didn't feel like being scared, and I was just bored with the movie. A word of advice Don't watch it. ;)
-
I watched "the jacket", it's not that new, but I really like it, is one of those movies that change things, mixing up the order and, where your mind tries to descypher the plot, haha
-
i know its not a new movie but i finally saw the chronicles of riddick and it was awesome, sequel rumored to come out in 2008
-
red eye was cool

thats why they promoted it sooo much
-
Just saw Munich. Was pretty damn good, and the acting was great, good camera work and the look of it was great. Story was a bit confusing and off at times, and I fell asleep at the start, but that was just cause of work and the length of the film. Really unnecesarily long :-\
-
i saw waking life and although it gave me a headache and wow it was tight. i thought it was a good movie
-
I saw Firewall yesterday, and I thought it was really good.
-
it looks like it sucks
-
I've never seen Firewall, but I did see The Libertine on March 15th. Talk about a strange movie. I thought it was good, but very sexually explicit. Surprisingly, the show I went to was sold out. I didn't expect it to draw such a crowd.
-
I know this one has been out for awhile, but DON'T bother renting Wolf Creek. Save your money and buy a box of candy: you will enjoy it much better.
-

Everybody were talking about the Libertine, so I had to rent the DVD. Yeah, it's very sexually explicit. They exaggerated the sexual liberty of the time, especially in that scene where people are having sex in a park or some field (whatever) in the foggy and obviously freezing weather. Pfff.... If it weren't for the sweet Depp, I would have fallen asleep sooner, but I managed to stay up for about 50 min.
-
Saw Nacho Libre. Laughed like an idiot. The End ;D
-
Last two films i watched was Nacho Libre and You, me and dupree. Both films i recommend watching, especially Nacho Libre, how can anyone not laugh at this film?
-
Last decent film in the cinema over here was Clerks 2, but The Departed is out now and looks great. Last film I actually saw was Tristan and Isotladlafagagfaefe (i dunno) and my girl rented it. GRRR
-
i just saw Borat a few hours ago and i must say its hilarious. the language & some content that might be offense to people of certain walks of life could've been left out, but i laughed from the time it started till it ended. i give it a 4 out of 5 rating
-

I wish you were still a member so I could tell you how stupid you are
"Man of the year" is a very good movie. Funny and has a point
-
;D i have just seen the illusionist and i love it. the end is great.
-
i saw the hitcher last week. I thought it had some good twists and give it 2 thumbs up
-
i just saw "borat" is not that funny and that part when the fat guy is naked and on borat was so gross
-
saw amercian history x for the 1st time the other night, i loved it.
-
Snakes and a black guy with a gun on a plane.
sequel bitches!
-
I just went to see Wild Hogs today. Waste of money for me. Maybe I am a little too young and my girlfriend is a little too old. I'm in my 20s she in late 30s. Some genuine laughs in the film but pretty predictable. Life is still exciting for me and I suppose if I were approaching 40 I may be able to relate to this film a little better. I'm giving 1.75 heartagrams out of 4
-
I went and saw Dead Silence last night. I thought it was gonnna suck but it was actually pretty good. However if you're looking for lots of gore this movie might not be for you.
-
grindhouse was alright.... they should've flipped the movies around in the double-feature, because tarantino's death proof was incredibly slow, after a great start
-
was disturbia any good as they say it was?
let meee know please :]
-
Maybe I've seen too many horror movies & I've become emotionally apathetic when I watch anything that's classified as suspense/horror but I fucking hated,"28 Weeks Later."
It bored me.
I give it 1 pelvic thrust & it's a pity pelvic thrust at that.
-
I can give you a pelvic thrust. :)
-
Can you handle this?
*Shakes his bum provacatively*
*Rawr...*

That's just...
So fuckin' SEXEH!!!!
-
what do you all think of "chapter 27"
i just saw it and i think is kinda boring
-
The last movie i saw in a theather was Vacancy and it really good. Better than I expected.
-
Vacancy was surprisingly good. It is a great kind of "cabin in the woods" movie. I think it has the potential to go down as kind of a cult hit, but we'll see, those are so hard to predict.
This weekend I saw Superbad, and The Invasion. Superbad, in my opinion, was better than Knocked Up. The scenes with Seth Rogan and Bill Hader as cops were some of the funniest things that I have ever seen in a movie. It makes me want to burn my Body Count albums.
The Invasion, is basically a remake of "Invasion Of The Body Snatchers." It wasn't what I'd call a bad movie; Daniel Craig's performance was pretty good. It was a movie that had a lot of potential, but the climax of the film ended very abruptly. I think that they were trying to go for a psychological kind of fear, but it just didn't work out that well. One funny note though, the actors who played James Bond and Felix Leighter in Casino Royale appear in this movie as friends, which I found humorous.
-
just saw the new bourne film pretty dam good
some good gritty action scenes and pretty good plot
i think the others are better but this one but it defiantly
lives up to them in many ways matt damon does the role
really well
-
I had bad gas during that film.
I like the bathroom scene fight.
My dad thinks there's going to be another Bourne film "Bourne Again".
Aye
-
yeh that scene was done really welll look so hardcore and real real pounding the shit out of each other!!!!!!
-
My favourite part was when he was on the phone with that guy
Bourne:"So where are you?"
Guy: "I am in my office"
Bourne:"I doubt that"
Guy:"Why would you doubt that?"
Bourne:"Cos if you were, we would be having this conversation face to face"
-
The car crash scene was cool. Since then I wonder if grabbing the seat belt like that will help you but i dont think so because a little girl got decapitated from the seat belt.
-

totally agree that has to be one of the best lines in a film ever . . .
-
I usually dislike action films... but these bourne movies never fail me.
-
Have you guys seen the Skit on Jimmy Kimmel?
BTW, yes that was a good part.

I watched Vacancy last night. God, i hated their masks but Ethan Embry was in it none the less. He was in one of my favorite movie Empire Records Vacancy was suprisingly good. ^__^

o i love the bourne movies, i want to see the last one but its going to be on theaters on september 9 here iin mexico....
-
I'm anticipating the remake of 3:10 to Yuma and Shoot 'Em Up. I believe they're both released this week. They're doing really well critically.
-
Has anyone watched Halloween yet? I want to know if it's worth seeing. I'm not a fan of Rob Zombie movies but I loved the original Halloween.
-
Halloween far exceeded my expectations. In the original film, it took about four minutes for the film to move to Lorie Strode. In this new one, it took nearly an hour.
That first part of the film that deals with Michael growing up is my favorite part in the entire series. Once it picks up to Lorie Strode, it does go a little downhill, but there are plenty of boobs and gory killings to make up for that. And for the record, we DO get to see the girl from Halloween 4 and 5 in the nude for long periods of time.
Malcolm McDowell is exceptional as Dr. Loomis, and Ken Foree's cameo as "Joe Grizzly" is another highlight of the film. I recommend everyone go see this, Halloween fan or not. It's a well-crafted horror film.
-
what do you all think of "chapter 27"
i just saw it and i think is kinda boring
im dying to see it...
i love jared leto and i LOVE lennon...
i just read the catcher in the rye aswell so im really lookin forward to seeing it
-
No Shoot Em up?
/
-
there's already a shoot em up topic somewhere in the movie section
-
Halloween is going to be good.. I think it's already out though 8) 8) 8) 8)
-
Since school started back up, I've seen:
Rush Hour 3 - 5/10
The Simpsons Movie - 5/10
Halloween - 7/10
Death Sentence - 7/10
Shoot 'Em Up (x2) - 9/10
Superbad - 9/10
3:10 To Yuma - 5/10
Resident Evil: Extinction - 7/10
1408 - 8/10
The Kingdom - 7/10
Last night I was also lucky enough to get to see the original Friday The 13th at one of my local theaters. I love old horror movies, so seeing one in the theater was absolutely fantastic. I hope that they show more old movies for the rest of the weekends in October.
EDIT:
I just saw The Heartbreak Kid tonight, and I must say it wasn't nearly as terrible as I thought. While it doesn't nearly live up to the awesomeness of Superbad, it indeed have a few moments worthy of the R-rating, and more than a few laugh out loud moments. The only thing that left me upset was the ending. After nearly two hours all I wanted was the happy ending, and THEY DEPRIVED ME OF IT!!! OOOOGABUGABOOGA!!!!
.....but seriously, it actually was pretty good.
-
Since no one but me posts in here, I'm just going to double post.
We Own The Night - 6/10
30 Days Of Night - 7.5/10
Saw IV - 6/10
-
I've seen quite alot of new movies and TV shows recently (well, new to me - some were older stuff.)
At the moment I am watching Smoke, a movie with Harvey Keitel and Forest Whitaker, so far we know that Keitel (Character's name is Augie) owns a cigar store and is a photographer. I am only 11 minutes in after all. It's good so far.
In the past week I bought The Number 23, Havoc and Saw 3. They were all rather good.
The Number 23 for one, is very underrated. People claim it's shit (alot of people) but I found it to be quite good. Jim Carrey did a good job, it was quite well written and the execution was just as good.
Havoc was quite good too, written by Stephen Gaghan (Traffic) It is about white kids who attempt to break into the Latino gang scene. It was good, an added bonus were the few nude scenes of Anne Hathaway ;)
Finally - Saw III. I have been meaning to see this for ages, it was very good, but Saw II remains my favourite. I am gonna see Saw IV soon, it wasnt written by either of the two original writers so I am not sure what to expect.
-
good
-
I just watched Borat and The Illusionist.. They are great movies.. I give Borat about 9/10 and the Illusionist 10/10.. They are awesome
-
I know Who Killed Me = Crap
-
I know Who Killed Me = Crap
Duh, Lindsay Lohan was never a good actress, she is just hot as hell
-
Love Actualy. Very good romantic movie before christmas :)
-
i really never get around to watching new releases, but the best movie i saw latly was
"Candy" one of those boy loves girl, girl loves man. both love heroin. and are on a downward spirl from Paradise to Hell.
i gave it 2 thumbs way up. hell, ill even add my boner too..lol
-

you have very bad taste in girls if you think linsay lohan is hot as hell..
-
you have very bad taste in girls if you think linsay lohan is hot as hell..
It was a joke.. I said that because she acts as if she is the queen of fucking england.. If you knew me, you would understand how much of a smartass I am
-
yeah lindsay is weird, i bet she has herpies.
-
Shit, I wouldn't doubt what else she has
-
The clap probably, her and her possie of hussies
-
I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry, it wasn't as funny as I thought it would be. It wasn't bad, but I don't think I'd watch it again... unless nothing else was on.
-
88 Minutes was not nearly as bad as the critics are making it out to be, but I have to admit that without Pacino the movie would have been fairly unbearable. While I can't recommend spending the money to see it in the theaters, it wouldn't be a bad movie to rent. Nothing amazing, but if you just take it for what it's worth, a by the book Hollywood thriller, then you won't be that disappointed.
Forgetting Sarah Marshall, aka Jude Apatow's redemption after Walk Hard was damn good. The movie was more along the lines of Knocked Up as opposed to Superbad, but still raunchy in a very universally acceptable way. While definitely a great comedy, I feel that it was lacking the big moment that Knocked Up and Superbad had. They make up for it with some great frontal male nudity that is just hilarious.
I go see about 2 movies a week, and that number will probably increase in the summer. If anyone wants a review, just ask. I'm sure I've either seen it, or will see it.
-
I know this film has been around for a while (since 1995 actually) but I must say, The Basketball Diaries. If you haven?t seen this film, SEE IT! It?s truly amazing.
It?s about Jim Carroll, the poet and writer, growing up and dealing with the pressures of life and turning to drugs. Basically, a coming-of-age tale. In my opinion, Leonardo DiCaprio is an amazing actor and he really makes this film. If you ever find the novel, have a read of that too.
If you like deep, depressing films with somewhat of a happy ending, The Basketball Diaries is a perfect choice!! I?ve seen this film about 15 times now and I could watch it another 100 times!!
-
I've never seen it. I don't think it was trasmitted in Italy
-
I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry, it wasn't as funny as I thought it would be. It wasn't bad, but I don't think I'd watch it again... unless nothing else was on.
it really wasn't that good, i shouldn't have wasted my time seeing it

I never really saw that one.. Is it worth renting or shall I wait till it comes on tv?
-
its okay you could rent it for a dollar in some food markets like a&p that have a dvd rental machine with new releases in it for $1 a night if you want to see it but you would most likely wait a long time before they show it on tv unless you have io or something like that
-
I have encore channels.. It's something on Dish Network
-
Just saw This Is It and I loved it. I know Michael Jackson is a touchy subject for some people, but I thought this was excellent. Highly recommend this to anyone who has enjoyed any of his music.
-
OK so i was just searching the web for a movie to watch tonight kinda bored... but i remembered watching some great movies over the past years so i strongly recommend you guys :
Le pacte des loups (2001 : Monica Belluci...Vincent Cassel -but in french- anyway i strongly recommend it if you like mistery/history/action/adventure movies and a little bit of scary now and then)
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975: one of the best movies i have ever seen)

I like animated film and recently watched Up and Monsters Vs Aliens. Up I found a bit too serious although entertaining. But Monsters Vs Aliens was brilliant and had me laughing throughout the movie.
-

Up did the same thing to me. I love animated movies can't wait for Toy Story 3
Is Stan Helsing worth seeing, or is it lame?

I watched on dvd for the first time yesterday Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey Jr, and have to say didn't think it was as great as everyone said it was. It's one of those films I didn't think it was great but cannot put my finger on exactly what was wrong with it.
-
I just discovered a great movie called Stan Helsing. Its basically just Scary Movie with horror films (Freddy, Jason,Chucky,Pinhead). Its awesome! Only complaint is too much sexual humor & language, not really into that. Theres a cool karaoke scene too. Really excited to see that George Romero did another Zombie movie Survival of the Dead, I just hope that its better than Diary of the dead (prob his worst movie, but hey nobody's perfect).
-
Feast 1 & 2. Pretty fun horror movies. Lots of awesome gore. Really over the top aswell.
If you're into that kinda stuff, check these out.
Hey by the way, im new.

INCEPTION WAS AMAZING!!! Anyone who has not seen it go see it now. Warning though, if you are not a deep thinker and analyzer, then I fear for you that the story might not be as awesome as it could be. Think a lot and deeply about the entire story and make up theories the entire way.
-
I watched on DVD recently the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, I have to say it was pretty good with some clever plot twists, however there are some quite lengthy dialogues and when you are reading subtitles that gets a bit tiersome.
-
Grave Of Fireflies, I watched this this week and it was an amazing film and a real tear jerker. I watched this because it was recommended to me by a few people all of which were men (didn't think men liked weepy films). If you are a fan of the Studio Ghibli movies this is worth checking out even though it is not in the sames style as some of their bigger movies like Spirited Away, the storyline though does put this above these.
-
I watched Iron Man 2 and it wasn't as good as the first one, the story wasn't as captivating and the action was a bit fin on the ground.
I watched the Reader, that had a very good story, and the film was cast very will. The only thing I found was that I didn't really connect with the characters.
-
Resident Evil Afterlife, was a brilliant actioned packed horror. It took a while for some of the mad action to start, but it wasn't disappointing. Hopefully Milla will be able to carry on with the role for a few more movies.
The Scorcerer's Apprentice was a great family movie which had a great fantasy story line.
Scott Pilgrim is a really unique film, I haven't read the books so I am not really sure how true the file is to the original but I liked the quirkiness of the characters and strange events that just happen from nowhere. Top movie
-
Inception was a good film, but I found it a bit complicated at times, and probably needs another watch to fully understand what is going on, however the lengthy dialogue would become boring on a second viewing.
The Last Airbender was really a great family film, and the lead actor child star was amazing in the role for someome so young. I can't wait for the second movie.
-
Inception is without a doubt an example of some brilliant technical, filmmaking, but the script has some problems. No one really ever understands the rules of dream machine thingy (do they even name it?), how one escapes limbo, and a variety of other issues. I also never understood why anyone would pay for something as inexact and inefficient as inception. If Sato was so powerful, why wouldn't he just buy a bunch of stock in Fischer's empire? Maybe he should spend a little less time buying airlines and participating in psychological terrorism and have a chat with his CFO.
For anyone that hasn't seen Scott Pilgrim vs The World yet, I strongly recommend that you do so as soon as possible. It's a pretty unconventional style of humor, but if you just bend over and let it have its way with you, there is no way not to enjoy it. Michael Cera is just brilliant. His line deliveries are strange, flawless, and hilarious. The supporting cast is great (the kid from Nickeleoden's Snow Day is in it!), and the action is very well done, which isn't surprising of a Edgar Wright directed feature.
I also recently saw the new Coen Brothers film True Grit, and it's fantastic. Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon have some wonderful back and forth, and this 14 year old girl in it is just fantastic.
-
I just finished watching the 20th Century Boys Trilogy and have to stay this is an amazing japanese film, for those of you who are into the evil villain trying to rule and destroy the world type movie this would really hit the spot.
-
I watch Harry Potter Deathly Hallows part 1 and have to say this is the most diappointing movie of the series so far, too much dialogue makes it very boring. >:(
-
The Last Airbender was really a great family film, and the lead actor child star was amazing in the role for someome so young. I can't wait for the second movie.
The Last Airbender could have been better IMO. I don't know what they could have improved on, but there was just something missing. They did well in making sure that it directly followed the cartoon. I think it could have used a bit more action.
-
I saw the 3D version. It was pretty good, but could have been more exciting. The fight scenes were alright. There are supposed to be more following right? I've never seen the cartoon...
-
Yeah... there's one for each element. The first one was the entire Water book/chapter or whatever. If the movies follow along with the cartoon then the next will be the Earth book and then finishing off with the Fire book.
-
I watched Megamind and have to say it was one of the funnier animations that I have seen, there is plenty of laughs and the storyline really is good. Yes it is a little bit cheesy in parts but the pros really outweigh the cons on this.
-
Monster..................anyone else understand what the hell this was about, what was the weird part at the end with the 2 monsters getting all touchy. Maybe it's just to intellectual for me, or I just hadn't drunk enough vodka and lime when watching this, everything seems good when you have had a few.
-
Did anyone else see Faster with the Rock, it was a pretty good action film with an ok plot, the Rock didn't have too many lines in the film. I like the Rock's films as he is a good entertainer in both comedy and action films.
-
Exit Through The Gift Shop is an amazing documentary that started off focusing on street artists, however the documentary ended up being about the film maker who just decided halfway through filming that he wanted to be an artist. Watch this film it will surprise you.
-
I thought Exit Through the Gift Shop was boring, but then again maybe that's just because I don't really "get" street art. Now if you want to see a documentary that will change your life pick up Man On Wire. It's the story of a man who tightrope-walked across the World Trade Center Towers during their construction. It shows the story of how they planned it and got through security (this was super illegal). It's like watching a real life Ocean's movie.
The only new film that has really blown me away this summer was X-Men: First Class. By far the best of the series, and one of the best comic book movies ever; second or third perhaps to only The Dark Knight and Spider-Man 2. Michael Fassbender's Magneto is equal parts James Bond and Malcolm X, and blows what Sir Ian McKellen did in the first 3 X-Men films out of the water.
-
X Men First Class is an amazing film and I have to say the best in the series. It has an amazing cast and the script is writting well. I hope they make another film with this cast because they are much more interesting to watch than those in the other film.
-
I watched the last Harry Potter film and have to say it was alot better than the previous 2 films and it does do the book justice. The makers managed to restore the balance between dialogue and action which was greatly lacking in the previous 2 movies. It is worth checking out if you liked the earlier films.
-
I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE AVENGERS MOVIE.
-
I recently watched Super 8 and have to say it was surprisingly good. It kind of had that same0 feel about it that films from the 80's had like Goonies and Explorers. Yes I am this old. The young cast performed well, the dialogue is a bit lengthy but the over all story is pretty good.
BTW my favourite 80's film is the Breakfast Club.
-
I watched the film The Help which I have wanted to see since I heard about it last year. I have to say this film was amazing, the strong and emotional storyline does give you alot to think about and the scenes of great sadness and happiness really do connect with you. The story and cast are amazing and this has to be one of the best dramas I have seen in a long time.
-
Dammit, few weeks ago i was w/ my gf on The hunger games,... and whole freaking cinema dummies watched their eyes off, and i almost died...because it was so boring ewwww
I hope American pie reunion will be better, well i will see this friday xD
But still the biggest surprise was Into the wild....
-
Oh yea i cant wait to see american reunion.
Id say its gonna be epic :D
Cant wait to see what stiffler has up his sleeve :D
-
I want to watch Dark Shadows.
-
As I have been on holiday in the USA for the last two weeks and the cinema there is a damn site cheaper I went and saw 3 movies out there.
The Avengers which was absolutely brilliant and has to be my favourite Marvel Movie so far, the auction is brilliant the it has plenty of laughs too a great family movie.
I watched the Hunger Games and to tell you the truth after hearing most people around me rave about how amazing this movie was, was a little let down because I actually found the film didn't live up to what people were saying about it. At the of it I thought this was a good movie, but the idea was too similiar to Battle Royale to me which is one of my favourite Japanese films.
I watched MIB 3 and I really did enjoy the film and have to say that was mainly down to Josh Brolin doing an amazing job of portraying the younger version of Tommy Lee Jones character, the film has loads of laughs and a good storyline and the action is amazing. I really liked the film and is great for family viewing.
-
As cheesy as the movie was I really liked Joyful Noise, Dolly Parton and Queen Latifah really did some class acting and the music in the film was amazing. Very good feel good movie.
-
I watched Whip It on DVD last week and it's a briliant gritty chick flick. The film focuses around a girl who wants to be different and joins a girls roller derby team. The film has plenty of laughs provided by Drew Barrymore and Juliet Lewis is brillaint in the film. Great fun and action and something completely different.
-
I watched Rock of Ages on DVD this week and absolutely loved it. The 80s rock soundtrack is brilliant. Tom Cruise and Alec Baldwin were brilliant. Grant the story was a bit cheesy but with music that good who cares. Love it
