You might have to wait another couple of albums for that. 8)
I wouldn't mind if they released a limited edition of the DVD. I would buy it. If you don't like it, then you don't have to buy the limited editions.

It is called "HIM - VENUS DOOM LIVE CD/DVD JEWEL CASE"
better title then the other one.
The last songs on the DVD are videoclips I guess
But I hoped for DL videoclips in HQ too (KL, WOAB)
But why does the tracklist contains abbreviations? Like "Right here" and "Babl"?
Bleed Well, Passion's Killing Floor, Venus Doom, Love In Cold Blood, Cyanide Sun, The Kiss Of Dawn, Dead Lover's Laneare videoclips I guess
the last seven clips are not live they are those weird videos they made a preview of eac song like the cyanide sun was all red looked like ville and linde were on mars or something thats what those last seven videos arebut im guessing the full songs

Yeah,i like that they play those songs from GLS, but it would be cool to hear something else. even if their not that "popular". What about the heartless, For you or our diabolikal rapture. GREAT songs that works VERY good live. And they should really start to change the set list after ALL these years. I like seeing them live, but it gets pretty boring when each tour has the same set list. I`m happy i saw them live in 2004 when the set list was freaking awsome.i wont be pleased with a setlist until they play more shit off of dsbh and gls
they cant play much from GLS cuz of linde's somewhat different tunig

yea gls had alot of distortion. maybe if he had an extra guitar it would work. but think about it this way. your sweet 666,its all tears, wicked game all off gls. and the other songs weren't very popular. theres WLADE but do you really want to listen to that slow song? (not saying i dont like it)
as for dsbh. once in a blue moon they'll play something from that. remember-the band dislikes that album alot.
a)the record company forced them to change their sound. the best way to see what i mean is look at 'again' 'beautiful-3rd seal shot'. those songs rock! and thats what they wanted on the album
b)it was written during one of VV past relationships. brings back bad memories
What's up with it being called Digital Versatile Doom Live - From The Orpheum Theater XXXVII A.S?
Wasn't the Stefan Lindfors films supposed to be on it as well? Or at least that's what it said in an Heartagram email months ago.
The albumart also says 37 AS
It has to be something in 1970
Black Sabbath's 'Paranoid' came out in 1970, just like 'Black Sabbath'
Maybe it is: AS = After Sabbath
I like that idea that XXXVII A.S.
stands for 37 Years after sabbath.
it's really clever, and I hope that's what it stands for!!
But the concert is played in 2007
Wasn't the Stefan Lindfors films supposed to be on it as well? Or at least that's what it said in an Heartagram email months ago.
Did it? I only remember it saying they'd be available for the members of the fan club... I might be wrong, though, as I can't be bothered to dig through my emails to check.
im gonna hold off on the flip book version.
ive been fooled once with the Venus Doom limited ed.
i wont be fooled again.

Next will be the exclusive fan club premiere of a set of short film collaborations between Ville and Stefan Lindfors, who directed the Funeral of Hearts video. These films will not be see by the public outside the fan club until the CD/DVD release in 2008! Don?t miss these unique films!
AH is the Islamic calendar (anno Hegirae)
After HIM can't be correct, Gas is born in 1971 and he is the eldest
The cover is the blurry the see what it says
After HIM maybe? That's is why I posted Gas year of birth, 37 AH wasn't possible because in 1970 the oldest member wasn't even born.
is the flip book really worth $10 extra?

they have a preview of what the flip book is. at the bottom
OH! I hadn't realised it was literally a picture 'flip book'.
Does that sound stooopid of me? :P
http://digitalversatiledoom.com/
a large number of pictures
as well as a media player in the top right corner, with small clips of three songs they played live
(bleed well, sleepwalking past hope & wings of a butterfly)
it sounds like its bad quality, i hope thats not the quality they give us on the cd :)
enjoy
you can get a preview of it at http://digitalversatiledoom.com/
That's what I'm hoping - that recordstore.co.uk sell the limited flip book one there.
Is there any problem buying with Warner?
No not as a rule.
I bought the Dark Light limited box with no problems at all.
I bought Venus Doom book there too - the problem with that one came with extra money being charged at UK customs. Items from USA coming in at over 18 UK pounds can be taxed here.
i wonder if the flip book is longer than just that clip at the bottom of the order page
I'm just going to get the normal version.
After Venus Doom I don't plan to buy any more books from Warner.
unless of course they actually make it "limited" and include something really cool.
I.E the Dark Light Internet only ed.
i thought it was comming out this month :-[
The imagery is from HIM's live performance of "Sleepwalking Past Hope" at the Orpheum Theater.
I wish they'd cut Wicked Game - sick to death of that song.
I wonder if there is a specific reason as to why RHIMA was cut? Maybe something was fucked up during the recording?
If they've kept it on the live cd I'm sure we may hear a reason.
Maybe it just didn't look good enough for dvd...
...like perhaps Gas got naked briefly during it or something :P
be pretty cool if they officially put out in 1 boxset all the live concerts that they have filmed.
or at least 2 or 3 from each era.
I just wish they had included anything from DSBH in this tour. :(

go read the interview that some member of FOH did with burton.
they talk about why they never play DSBH songs.

Thess, is there any way of saving one of those clips and showing?

so is the dvd a mix of both days? cuz they filmed for 2 days, but both days they played the same set list.
so i wonder why they took out Right here in my arms, no way that one specific song messed up on both days.

Because we value your devotion and because you were one of the first people to pre-order "Digital Versatile Doom", we would like to offer you an exclusive online screening of the full live concert from the DVD on the original release date of April 1.
You'll receive a special URL to the online screening in a separate email on March 31st."

I'm not seeing it.
they should give you that shirt for free to all who ordered it.
delaying it for a whole month just sucks, we deserve a free shirt :)

Actually, does anyone know how much it costs? I'm not a member at Heartagram.com, but maybe it's a good time to join it and enjoy the $25.00 discount!

probably paying member store...
i don't really think that shirt is very cool though:S
i spent more on things less worth it..
wow! you people are FANS of the band??
I preordered DVD, and am just as disapointed as anyone else about the delay, but, DAMN! I have to believe that if it's delayed that long, it's because something wasn't up to their standards, and they want to make it the best possible, not that they're trying to felx their muscles.

hello this is my first post 8)
erm well id like to say that this cd/dvd is goin 2 be g8
www.thesacrament.net
The 17-song tracklisting caught my eye as well. I'm afraid the people at Zillo just dug up the setlist for the L.A. gigs, though, and assumed it was going to be the tracklisting for D.V.D. without any confirmation from WB.
I saw that too, about cdon.com....hmm...I truly hope they've made a mistake (like they usually do) cause me needs the dvd before the end of april otherwise I'll go nuts from waiting this long already :-\
lets hope that its worth the wait ;Dit definitely will be...
Is there anyone here that already has the DVD ?
I wanna know if the show is really god...!!!
The quality etc...
What are the Fan Videos?
Does anybody has some idea?
o_o
Well, at the end of It's all tears they play that small part of the cover TV eye that they usually do but Valo sings a different lyrics.
I mean from the minute 45. 23 until the end of the song.
Can anyone post that lyrics please?
I'd like to understand what he is singing in that minute.
Thank you!Well, at the end of It's all tears they play that small part of the cover TV eye that they usually do but Valo sings a different lyrics.

the song is called Wall of Fire - Monster Magnet
the opening lines are "Well I'm Back, I Got A Cock Made Out Of Platinum"
ville found that wonderful and "4-Way Diablo" is one of his favorite new albums
he said that song alone restored his faith in rock n roll
its all in some magazine published a few months ago
but yea, i was definitely waiting for TV Eye, it caught me off guard, but in a good way
Thank you!
On the dvd are gonna be ingluded 2 cds: One is the dvd of the concert we are talking about and the another one is just the audio cd.
What performance is gonna be included on the audio cd? The same that is on the dvd but just the audio?
I mean just the audio of the concet we were able to watch
Thanks again!Thank you!

exactly
btw:
im aware its dumb to start topics or bring up ideas of band members having drug addictions
but, before "Killing Loneliness", which we know is about heroin and addiction
ville says linde should be hapy cuz there are no solo's in this next song and he's off the hook
after that he then states that "either way, this song relates to Linde, when he is fairly medicated," in a joking sort of way
after the silence he says a quiet 'nah'
whats going on here, i always thought there had to be some reason for Linde being so skinny, other than just his body type
if anyone knows anything, please shed a little light on this
thank you
FUCK! I missed the preview! :(
u.u
im behind!!!
when is this due to hit shops
im behind!!!
when is this due to hit shops
28th of april in the states
On a Saturday? Not very likely. :) I'd say between April 28th and 30th in most places, depending on the country.
omg, they made a video for venus doom!! wow awesome.
i also hope they didn't edit out where Ville talks in between each song
Can you still wath the preview anywhere?
:-\
I'm a touch annoyed as I just checked the status of my order from HIMonline store and its still "pending" (obviously) - but in the details it said "Despatch date: May 12 2008".
So I've emailed the store to find out more and to see if that date is correct.
i get the same date from here https://www.recordstore.co.uk/him
That's actually the same online store where I've ordered from.
They haven't written back yet, so I don't know.
are you not allowed to take anything early from work?Oh, fuck no!
are you not allowed to take anything early from work?Oh, fuck no!
Breaking street date is a big no-no. My store could be fined and possibly lose "new release" privaleges. I'd lose my job before it got to that point, though, those sorts of shenanigans are not tolerated, especially since I'm in management myself.

heartagram_616 ...I got email back regarding my DVD (flip book edition) order:
Hi Jen,
Thank you for your email.
Although the official release date is 29th April, the release date for the LTD edition version has been put back till May 12th by the record label.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused by the delay.
Kind Regards.
Anybody able to find the promo videos? I can't seem to find them.
What's the difference between the standard and limited editions?
So yeah, I didn't see any promo videos anywhere. I also explored the DVD audio and video files and came up empty handed. Sooo... did we get lied to? Or am I an idiot.
i would like too that they will release any HD version of the dvd, but i dont think so
Wonder how long it'll be till we get a Blu-Ray version??? ;D

what kind of case have the release?
Actually, with the Uneasy compilations, BMG only wanted to release another "Best Of". Ville did not want that, and that is how the Uneasy CD's came about. Ville chose the tracks for both CDs.
How many books were printed?3500.
Are those songs on the cd the same as on the dvd - just the audio version - or did they change some, between the days? Meaning dvd features Bleed Well from the first night, the cd is from the second etc..
i already asked, but does anyone know if the video was cut at all, cause he doesn't seem to talk reallyHe was rather polite with the Crowd that night. He spoke to the crowd in between songs couple of times, maybe three to four minutes in some parts.
...
I think its a little bit of a sloppy and lazy production since they just randomly decided to cut out a song(RHIMA) from the live cd and then keep it on the dvd. I wou...
You gotta love Warner Music, haha ::)
15/3500
;D
I've been watching it at work since it came out waiting for my copy to show up. Glad I can always rely on Warner and Canada Customs to get me my HIM special editions a week late.
It's worth the wait. No matter how long that may be...
I finally got mine this morning and it's amazing!! 207/3500 (I wonder who got 666 or 616 ::) )

i think these are reserved for somebody...it will be more then just a luck to get this numbers...who know...
(However, I didn't like the "Biggest Fan" part at all - I don't like anything by any band that shows fans talking, a pet-hate of mine).
mine finally got here...but..... theres no flip book. i ordered and paid for it! wwtf? and both the receipt n email told me thats what i was getting. i really wanted the flipbook. stupid... >:(

yeah, i emailed them, with the copy of the email i got stating what i paid for and what was sent, plus a copy of the invoice thats in the package. all i wanted was the flipbook to play with. now to wait n see if anything is done. has this happened to anyone else at all??
Ville's voice is poor, but I realise that he'll never sing like 8 years ago :(Yes, that is cuz ville has never worried to care about his voice. On the live gig they even turned the notes a half step on every song so it's easier for Ville to reach higher notes.
On video, gig is awesome, but when you concentrate only on sound is bit disappointing.
Though I agree that Linde is amazing!
I love especially solo in Poison Girl, and modified It's All Tears. Linde rocks!he also has been less shy than in previous years...
he also has been less shy than in previous years...
i really enjoy the new and improved linde...
he has really been let free
I've just listened to it, and I think it's.... not that good. Ville's vocal is average, and drums are too loud. Only Linde is just as great as always :) On video, gig is awesome, but when you concentrate only on sound is bit disappointing. Just listen to Sleepwalking recorded in Toronto, that was included on Bleed Well single. It's like 3 times better than recording from L.A. However, that's just my opinion.
___________________________________
Edit:
After listening few times more, it's not that bad. Drums are too loud only in few songs. But really I love only two songs: Poison Girl and Soul on Fire (especially the beginning of SOF). Still I think that Ville's voice is poor, but I realise that he'll never sing like 8 years ago :(
Just a question, I know I might seem stupid but was the Orpheum Theatre performance recorded/photographed with the intention of it becoming Digital Versatile Doom? Or was it decided after the performance?
That's fantastic
That's fantastic
What's fantastic?
i'm fantastic...
they should have just played a little longer
whats one more song??
just as an encore

I always think that at concerts but I guess they have to stop at some stage. Just one more, and they play one more, and then we want just one more. Ha, sadly it has to stop eventually.
Personally, I'm just so overjoyed that they played It's All Tears!!
I noticed the exact same thing, and spend a little while checking each song for the multiple views - but none happened - so I reckon that was yet another omission.Oh well.... just another fine move from the label removing features....
they should have just played a little longer

Yeah!! Like in the good old times. Rebel Yell or Enjoy the Silence. Would be interesting how it would sound nowadays.
And Razorblade Kiss would have been great because it's one of my favourite songs.
is this really the whole gig?
maybe they've cut something...
I still (http://thesacrament.net/forum/index.php?topic=3032.msg109970#msg109970) think the letters mean "After Sabbath".
The two first Black Sabbath albums were released in 1970. The show was recorded in 2007, so.. 1970+37=2007. In that way "37 After Sabbath" makes some sense to me.
Both 'Black Sabbath' and 'Paranoid' are essential to the definition of Heavy Metal and maybe that was what the band was trying to pay tribute... and we all know that Ville considers HIM a "Black Sabbath tribute band of sorts". He doesn't mean it literally but he said to illustrate the impact that Sabbath has had in HIM's music.

I have a question:
on the DVD package its says that there are multiple viewing angles. In which songs is this option supported? It comes to my mind due that the preview that it was played by heartagram.com for its members have minor camera angle diferences that the ones on the DVD.
???
This dvd is sick, but I always wondered why they never released a blu-ray version.
